Please choose another username[edit]

Your present username, being that of a famous person about whome there is an article in Wikipedia, is a problem for us. "If you share the same name as a well known person, or you are a well known person, and you wish to edit under your own name, then your userpage should make it clear whether you actually are the well known person or not. Usernames that appear to violate this policy to the extent of being problematic are likely to be blocked, as a precaution, until it can be confirmed that the user in question is using his or her real name. If you have been blocked for using your real name, please don't take offense; this procedure is necessary to prevent impersonation. You are welcome to use your real name, but in some cases, you will need to prove you are who you say you are." I have not yet blocked your username, wishing to discuss this with you first. --Orange Mike | Talk 04:14, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Bridge Tender's House, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 14th Street Bridge (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Reply, in case you don't read replies or something[edit]

Excellent answer. I also view Evola and Chesterton as opposites, and each as a metaphysical antidote to the other within the larger and essential discussion of how human activity becomes something more than the manipulation of material conditions; an idea I saw peeking through from time to time in your tumblr archives, but not enough for me, which is why I asked you. Excluding Chesterton who I included to amuse you, they often do just "think they are doing something" and reading them can feel like treading water sometimes, so I understand your concern. But at the same time this excess of thinking allows the writers to cut through poorly defined or meaningless terminology: see Ride the Tiger, for example, for Evola on existentialism. If you look at what inspires Evola to write despite his lack of comfortable materialist grounding, it's because in his readings he becomes aware that the great occultists and esotericists like Guenon, and similar writers like Spengler who built strong and elaborate structures, somehow created a world more real than the sensual world. No need to reply to this, but I appreciated your lengthy reply to my off-the-cuff question. Shii (tock) 13:47, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. References[edit]

Just follow the steps 1, 2 and 3 as shown and fill in the details

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. Remember that when adding content about health, please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations. (There are several kinds of sources that discuss health: here is how the community classifies them and uses them.) WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a built-in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN.

  1. While editing any article or a wikipage, on the top of the edit window you will see a toolbar which has a button "Cite" click on it
  2. Then click on "Automatic" or "Manual"
  3. For Manual: Choose the most appropriate template and fill in the details, then click "Insert"
  4. For Automatic: Paste the URL or PMID/PMC and click "Generate" and if the article is available on PubMed Central, Citoid will populate a citation which can be inserted by clicking "Insert"

We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 09:16, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a minor edit. It would still not have been minor if it had been properly cited, but it is particularly bad to mark it as minor when the directly and flagrantly contradicts the cited source that was still left in. SpinningSpark 14:14, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Georgelazenby, I am a PhD candidate in communication studies at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). My research focuses on amateur astronomers who process data from Space Telescopes and share their pictures online. Tuatara[edit]

Please actually do some reading about a topic before making incorrect assertions about it. Tuatara do have true teeth, as any a brief search on scholar (or actually reading the Wikipedia article) would tell you. For example, this Current Biology article Tuatara are sometimes said to lack true teeth, possessing instead serrations on the jaw bone: this is not true: tuatara do have teeth, but they are fused to the jaw bone without an obvious boundary.
