explanation[edit]

Hi, I had to remove a piece of history pursuant to Wikipedia policy. That will explain my edits of your talk.--Kungfu Adam (talk) 04:21, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

I still read the edit you removed anyway. This page is a free speech zone. Don't remove others comments.--God Ω War 04:23, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Philip Sandifer.jpg[edit]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Philip Sandifer.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rory096 05:16, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article National Emo Kid Beatdown Day, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the relevant issues at Talk:National Emo Kid Beatdown Day. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.

Use the Afd tag not the speedy tag. The notability is given on the talk page. Just because the subject of the article is attacking someone doesn't mean that the article on wikipedia can't have a NPOV.--God Ω War 21:05, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Zidane[edit]

Now that the unpleasantness is out of the way, I'd like to explain my reasoning about leaving the image of the headbutt out of the article.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a blog or an AP feed. As such, an image of Zidane receiving a red card is not notable enough to be inserted in the article, especially when there is only one other image of him (which is isolated in the infobox). One cannot reasonably expect to see an image of Zidane's headbutt when one does not see images of him at award's banquets when he is receiving FIFA Player of the Year honours or UEFA's Best Footballer of the Past 50 Years. One must put things in perspective. hoopydinkConas tá tú? 22:29, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Threatening blocks[edit]

It's not a good idea to say something like "I WILL get you blocked a second time.". Remember WP:CIVIL and all that good stuff. I don't think threatening to get the other guy blocked is a good way to try and resolve whatever conflict you're involved in. --Cyde↔Weys 19:03, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

That being said, I have blocked him for a second time. --Cyde↔Weys 19:08, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Thankyou Cyde, I never thought reverting two vandalising edits would turn into such a headache.--God Ω War 19:24, 14 July 2006 (UTC

Meh, happens to us admins all the time. The key is to just ignore it. I get all sorts of inane nonsense on my talk page, and the best solution is to just ignore it rather than blank it, which tends to get people incensed. --Cyde↔Weys 19:27, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Wikibreak[edit]

I may not be here to answer questions in the immediate future. My motherboard has power supply issues that need to be fixed somehow. (Never buy from Dell, they make up BS to get out of warranties)--God Ω War 21:01, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Pooh. My Dell is like an old tank - it still hasn't broken down yet. =) Anyways, good luck with your...userboxie work and feel free to drop a comment on my talk page! - Regeane Silverwolf 04:06, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Fight Club (film)[edit]

Thanks for the revert---I read through that list two or three times, and did not see anything about the fight with the boss. Then, I wrote it, you reverted it, I read the list again, and there it was. It might help if that list were in chronological order, which I do not believe is the case right now. Anyway, thanks for catching that. ---Charles 19:58, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

CfD UDUIW[edit]

You might be interested in the discussion at Wikipedia:User_categories_for_discussion#Category:Users_in_Defense_of_Userboxes_and_Individuality_on_Wikipedia_.28UDUIW.29. --NThurston 20:48, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

I appreciate your viewpoint on this issue and find a lot of value in what you say. I must apologize if you thought my previous comment was "spam." It is currently a common tactic in the userbox wars to gang up on a particular page and try to get the votes all stacked up nicely before interested people on the opposing side of the issue notice. I find this approach disturbing and against the notion of consensus building. When I saw that page, I felt it was necessary to notify a few people who had previously been involved and who may not have had any reason to notice this CfD in order to allow real discussion to take place, not the false consensus that is too often claimed as justification for one side or the other. --NThurston 14:28, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Screenshots[edit]

Hi, I was just wondering what program you use to take screenshots from DVDs, such as Image:Sara Connor Loca.jpg. I have a program I used, but the quality never seems to end up this good. - Bill 130.49.147.166

Sig[edit]

Please change your sig to:

'''[[User:God_of_War|God]] <span style="font-family: Book Antiqua">Ω</span> [[User Talk:God_of_War| War]]'''

As it stands now, the sig is XHTML-incompliant because it contains an uppercase FONT tag (which is closed with a lowercase font tag, making it non-well-formed XML to begin with). - Sikon 03:31, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I changed it. --God Ω War 21:48, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Your name[edit]

Hi, just to let you know, you are not the "God of War". Also, I like the idea of a 'truth' wiki but given your personal opinions I don't think it will be "truth-seeking" or unbiased.

P.S. You have too many 'userbars' on your page. If I didn't feel so strongly about this joke, I might not spend the time typing it out with one finger. Have a nice day. 68.81.198.36 01:14, 2 November 2006 (UTC) Anonymous

Go away puny mortal.--God Ω War 04:32, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Ok, just don't go and die. Cause then you wouldn't be so immortal. By the way, you have too many userbars. I love people who have so much time invested in online fantasies. 68.81.198.36 03:12, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Hadji_Girl_Screenshot.jpg[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Hadji_Girl_Screenshot.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia 05:38, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
