From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Two items came up today where I could use some help if you have the time – I may have time later in the week to look myself, but definitely not today. First of all, would you have any sources that could be used to improve the article for the company Dream Pod 9, or its games in particular Heavy Gear, Jovian Chronicles, Tribe 8, and Gear Krieg (and to a lesser extent, Project A-ko: The Roleplaying Game and CORE Command)? Also, some concerns have been raised regarding the Wizards of the Coast article at Wikipedia:Good article reassessment/Wizards of the Coast/1 that will need to be fixed. BOZ (talk) 15:34, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if you have it, but Jovian Chronicles does at least note a review in White Wolf magazine. BOZ (talk) 15:35, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'll see what I can do with the above. Dragon has reviews of Heavy Gear and Jovian Chronicles. Ares appears to have no reviews of any of them. Still searching White Dwarf. I do not have any copies of White Wolf, do you know of any on-line archives? I have limited time this week, so I'll stick to the above, hopefull can get to WotC soon-ish. Guinness323 (talk) 17:32, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
WD and DW (heh) were out of print by the time Dream Pod 9 came around, but yes see what you can do with the Dragon articles, particularly if you can add anything to the company's article. One user is working on WotC so that may be fixed before you can get to it. :) BOZ (talk) 18:14, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, the Dragon review only talks about the settings, not about the company. I've added a review to the company page, but it's not much use compared with all of the uncited material. The rest of today is shot, I'll try to find some new sources about the company tomorrow. Guinness323 (talk) 19:12, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, thanks! :) BOZ (talk) 19:23, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Did you see anything more in the way of sources that could be useful either for the company itself, or for any of its games? BOZ (talk) 19:36, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have not found anything significant. Still looking Guinness323 (talk) 08:19, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK, gotcha! :) BOZ (talk) 12:47, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Another one, and this one might be something you can do more with than DP9? Grimoire Games and any/all of its publications could use some work. I don't doubt they were covered in Dragon, and probably other sources of the era. BOZ (talk) 19:15, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'll see what I can do.Guinness323 (talk) 20:46, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Further to the above, Grimoire Games is currently a hot mess. Whew. And it turns out Gary Gygax hated Grimoire Games -- it was one of the first to receive the famous TSR "cease & desist" -- so Dragon never even mentions Arduin or Grimoire Games except for three listings for Dave Hargraves as a DM. I'm sure Gygax personally spiked any reviews of Grimoire products. I have found one review of Arduin in Different Worlds, a couple of mention of Arduin by notable writers, but nothing (so far) in White Dwarf, and no notable articles (yet) about Grimoire Games. Busy tomorrow, I'll pick it up on Thursday.Guinness323 (talk) 04:56, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, I see! LOL If you can actually find anything about the cease & desist or Gygax's feelings about the game and company, then that would actually be notable to include. ;) BOZ (talk) 11:54, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going through some sources for Arduin to see if they have anything for the company. The Arduin page notes reviews in White Dwarf, for one possibility; I will see what else is out there. BOZ (talk) 18:01, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've gone through all the sources I can think of, and they all say very little or nothing about the company. I'm not too worried about that article getting deleted though, since it looks like a merge to Arduin is feasible, although I would of course prefer to keep an article intact whenever possible. Designers & Dragons goes into detail about the company, but that is the only source I can find up to this point. If you have the energy at this point, feel free to check over Wikipedia:WikiProject Role-playing games/Article alerts, Wikipedia:WikiProject Dungeons & Dragons/Article alerts, and Wikipedia:WikiProject Board and table games/Article alerts to see if there is anywhere you can help out; otherwise hopefully you-know-who is finally enjoying his wikibreak and we can lay off AFD for a few days at least. ;) BOZ (talk) 20:23, 19 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I will check out those pages. I've also put together a list of (hopefully) most game reviews in Dragon and White Dwarf, and will slowly try to make my way through both lists at couple of articles a day. Re DP9, I sent a note to the president of the company asking for more resources, haven't heard back from him yet.Guinness323 (talk) 04:09, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You've gone above and beyond, thanks! BOZ (talk) 06:40, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see anything useful for Demihuman Deities or Faiths and Pantheons? For that matter, anything to improve Faiths & Avatars to solidify that one, or for Monster Mythology[1] so we can bring it back? BOZ (talk) 05:52, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, I would have assumed that some of the gaming magazines reviewed these, but shoot, I can'[t even find anything in Dragon 1-250. It's like they dropped into the sea and didn't leave a ripple. Only saw this at bedtime, I'll spend some time tomorrow morning looking. Main search may have to wait until Tuesday -- DMing my 35-year-old home campaign tomorrow night.Guinness323 (talk) 06:35, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No rush on anything. :) Have fun! BOZ (talk) 13:12, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The UK version of Polyhedron, Issue 4 has a review of Demihuman Deities, but at the moment, I can't locate a PDF copy of it on the interwebs. Still looking for other sources.Guinness323 (talk) 16:45, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I have tried chasing down several sources that have proved fruitful in the past, and have come up empty. Other than the UK Polyhedron article mentioned above, nary a mention of any of these splat books.Guinness323 (talk) 22:11, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It's OK man, thanks for checking. BOZ (talk) 22:29, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see anything more that can be done with Warlock (board game)? BOZ (talk) 05:39, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not much. It was essentially a self-published effort. I've added pages from BGG and BoardGames and cover art, but have not found much else (yet.)Guinness323 (talk) 06:49, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Lately we have had a horde of deletions on fictional elements, but as for books, do you see anything that could help on the novel Finder's Stone or the sourcebook Book of Exalted Deeds? BOZ (talk) 13:13, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Did what I could for BoED, which unfortunately was not a lot. I've got my hands full for the next few days, but hopefully can get back to Finder's Stone shortly. Guinness323 (talk) 20:10, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Found 20 minutes to look for reviews or mentions of Finder's Stone. Other than a short mention in Draogn (the comanpy that published the novels), nuthin'. Lots on each novel of the trilogy, but nobody seems to have reviewed the trilogy as a set.Guinness323 (talk) 03:54, 4 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK, gotcha. Well, if you can add anything you find to the articles on the individual novels, then that's great, and I will probably wind up redirecting the trilogy's page to the big novel list. BOZ (talk) 04:02, 4 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Everything in the Category:High Fantasy has been given a PROD, even though I think they all have at least two sources. I have access to some of those reviews and will work on adding them over the next few days as I have a chance. BOZ (talk) 14:17, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have added Dragon reviews to two of them and dePRODed them as a result. Do not have access to White Dwarf or Different Worlds #11 though, hmm, wonder if there are other sources... Guinness323 (talk) 22:34, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sure there are, so I will take a look. :) I can probably get the WD and Ares reviews and possibly the one from DW. BOZ (talk) 00:17, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see anything for Blair Reynolds? BOZ (talk) 13:03, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have added everything I could find. Note there is a review of several issues of Unspeakable Oath in Pyramid 1-04 (behind a paywall). Don't know if Reynolds' artwork is mentioned, but its a possibility if you know someone who has access to the review.Guinness323 (talk) 19:58, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if you would have anything for Magic system or Gamemaster's screen, or if there is anything salvageable there? BOZ (talk) 01:58, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Did what I could for the Gamemaster's Screen, but I'm scratching my head over the magic system. Is there a history of the RPG that talks about the development of a magic system?Guinness323 (talk) 06:21, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, well done on that. :) I looked at Appelcline but he just makes bare mentions that GM screens were published for several games, without discussing GM screens at all. As far as magic systems, I already added several hits from his book a few years ago, so I am not sure how much else I can do with that. BOZ (talk) 12:42, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Digital Web is up for AFD. BOZ (talk) 19:33, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Aside from Dankendismal, also up for AFD are the companion volumes Magic: The Gathering Totally Unauthorized and Advanced Magic: The Gathering Totally Unauthorized, as well as Vampire: The Dark Ages Storytellers Screen in case there is anything that can be done with any of those. BOZ (talk) 16:51, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Found one source for the advanced book, nothing for the basic book, and nothing for the storytellers screen.
And because it's time for "hey, why not", there is also Field Guide: Southern Vehicles 2 and Field Guide: Northern Vehicles 2, Dungeon Maps, and Wraith: Sins of the Fathers today. BOZ (talk) 12:57, 10 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
These: I have found nothing. There's some chatter about Dungeon Maps by Wyrm Works, but of the "Hey dudes, I have this old stuff for sale" variety.
In addition to the above, there is now The Shapeshifters Manual, Shadow Lords Tribebook, and Mecha Manual 2: Invasion Terra Files for consideration. BOZ (talk) 13:08, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
These I have found some sources sources for and have dePRODed.
I appreciate the effort, at least. :) BOZ (talk) 13:05, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Uncle Albert's Auto Stop & Gunnery Shop 2035 Catalog is also up today, and there are a few AFDs, and I also restored two other articles from the D-list to add reviews. BOZ (talk) 18:40, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
OMG it's like a game of whack-a-mole!
They keep popping up. ;) BOZ (talk) 23:34, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
A few more AFDs today including Deep Magic, and I also saw one for To Court the King pop up as well. BOZ (talk) 13:06, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
One more so far today, Dark Horizon: Escape. BOZ (talk) 12:38, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Tried my best, but Google only provided four pages of suggestions (mostly amazon and eBay), was only able to come up with a German game e-store that gave a pretty good summary of the game. (Costs 44 euros even today, wow.) I don't recall seeing a review in Arcane but I'll recheck. Failing that, hmmm... Guinness323 (talk) 21:43, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, thanks as always. :) BOZ (talk) 22:09, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK, just for a running tally of which AFDs remain open at this time, minus anything you have already addressed by responding to the discussion and/or adding sources, we have still: Vampire: The Dark Ages Storytellers Screen, Field Guide: Southern Vehicles 2 and Field Guide: Northern Vehicles 2, Dungeon Rooms, Desert Tracks, and Deep Magic. Most of those I created during my exploration of Arcane magazine, and they don't appear to have reviews in Dragon, but of course anything else that you can do for any of them would be awesome. If you've already looked at all of those, then let's take a break from that, and if you like then have a look at the suggestion in "shifting focus" below. :) BOZ (talk) 14:40, 18 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Did another in-depth search for these items, found another source for Dungeon Rooms, but nada for the other items. "Shifting focus". Guinness323 (talk) 21:18, 18 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And of course there are four more AFDs today, because we can't start a new week without that. ;) BOZ (talk) 14:50, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Just to be clear to anyone reading my comments above regarding any articles facing PROD or ongoing AFD discussions, and to avoid any further baseless accusations of wrongdoing on my part, please note that I have only ever asked people for assistance in finding sources who have proven skilled and interested in doing so on similar topics; I have never, and will never, ask or expect another user to participate in such AFDs. BOZ (talk) 16:52, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Quick question on sudden redirects without previous talk (was was done to Cemetery Plots): Is this kosher for an article with two RS reviews, although one (White Wolf) is only listed? Guinness323 (talk) 16:48, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

White Wolf is a legit source for reviews, although I have had trouble finding copies of it myself. BOZ (talk) 17:06, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

After GMT Games was questioned and then answered, several PRODs were placed on Carrier (game), Warband (games), Infantry Attacks series, The Face of Battle (game), D-Day: The Great Crusade, Conflict (board game), Knock Out (tabletop game), Learn to Play Go(redirected]), Day of the Figurines(resolved), and Air Assault on Crete, in case any of those can be fixed? BOZ (talk) 16:03, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Good work on those. :) There is also Reels & Deals: The Movie-Making Card Game now. BOZ (talk) 13:28, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I do not know if you have the time or the interest, but an even larger string of PRODs was added today: Marcelo Cassaro, 3D&T(tagged for notability, but a related campaign setting was put up for AFD), Benny (playing card), Back palm, Card Game 9, Crash! The bankrupt game, Enemy in Sight (card game), Eralash (card game), Fédération Française de Tarot, Lexicon (cardgame), Linq (card game), You're Bluffing, Zheng Fen, Vampire (card game), Upcard, Tabby Cat (solitaire), Strategy (card game), Stay Away!, Mulle, Raise the Roof (card game), Load Inc. Not sure how many of those are legitimately salvageable though, but take a look if you like in case you can find anything for any of these. BOZ (talk) 00:38, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Holy smokes. I'll see what I can do with my limited time this week. Guinness323 (talk) 00:41, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

PRODs can be easy to miss on the Article Alerts, here are three in case you want to tackle them: Ork! The Roleplaying Game, Pirates! (role-playing game), and Paladin (role-playing game). :) BOZ (talk) 15:14, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm almost afraid to ask on this one, but might as well ask to see if there is anything salvageable for The Squared Circle? BOZ (talk) 12:24, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Haha, you find the obscure ones. Eric Moreau has actually been pretty prolific (8+ books for The Squared Circle RPG), some reviews from various bloggers and v-bloggers, but nothing mainstream or even in fanzines. I can add some of the bloggers if you want, but there will be questions of RS. Guinness323 (talk) 16:29, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, I figure we should give everything a fair shot, even if some just cannot be spared the hangman's noose. ;) BOZ (talk) 19:02, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty sure that Eldritch Role-Playing System gets some coverage in Designers, but there may be more out there. BOZ (talk) 12:03, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Found what I could, not sure if this is enough to dePROD. Guinness323 (talk) 19:06, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I did remove it, but with a merge suggestion now that it is not unsourced. :) BOZ (talk) 20:17, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Was this review included in the ones you received?: [2] BOZ (talk) 20:20, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No, Alexandra gave me copies of two reviews for Caerns, and one each for Freak Legions, Dark Reflections, and Axis Mundi. Guinness323 (talk) 21:01, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty sure that Tékumel: Empire of the Petal Throne gets some coverage in Designers, so I will check that in a little while. BOZ (talk) 12:22, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, here are some possibilities, under "Linked Items"?: [3] BOZ (talk) 12:26, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also, Pax Draconis. BOZ (talk) 03:22, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also, Sphinx (role-playing game) and What Price Glory?!. BOZ (talk) 12:27, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, some sooper obscure stuff here. Haven't found a copy of any of the reviews listed on RPGG yet. for Tekumel. Sphinx looks to be a self-published effort in the UK, there were some ads in White Dwarf for a few months, the price was quite hefty for its time, I can't find any mention of anyone who actually has seen a physical copy of the game, so its possible the authors didn't sell any copies. What Price Glory was another self-published effort, one of those "I can write a better D&D" efforts that popped up in the late 70s. I've seen photos of it, and rumours of a PDF, but no reviews yet.Guinness323 (talk) 05:46, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Good work on Asticlian Gambit by the way; do you have anything more that can be added to Monster Mythology and Black Flames which I have moved to draft space for now? BOZ (talk) 12:10, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No idea if the Polish publisher Wydawnictwo MAG is salvageable, but they have published versions of notable games, and the Polish-version of the article does have sources? BOZ (talk) 12:15, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have a found a few sources, will leave it for a couple of days and see if I can ferret out some more. Thought I found enough for a dePROD. Guinness323 (talk) 05:10, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have anything which might help for Richard Tucholka? BOZ (talk) 12:18, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! :) I moved Dark Ages: Inquisitor to draft, do you see anything for that one? BOZ (talk) 16:33, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I got a WP:REFUND on The A to Z of Babylon 5 after finding another source; let me know if you see anything else for that book, otherwise I can toss it into draft for now. BOZ (talk) 02:13, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A quick search turned up not much, I'd move it to Draft until I can do a deeper search.Guinness323 (talk) 16:54, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Strategic Imperial Conquest also got moved to Draft not long ago, in case you see anything that can be used to improve it. BOZ (talk) 22:15, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, quick search through various databases turned up exactly nothing. Not often that happens. Guinness323 (talk) 00:01, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see anything worthwhile for Hexagony (aka Bin'Fa[4])? BOZ (talk) 12:30, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Good work. :) The same user on Management (game), Infantry Attacks series (which you had previously put some work into), and Existensminimum, as well as some pinball AFDs if those interest you. BOZ (talk) 12:29, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! Do you see any good sources for Jefferson P. Swycaffer? If not, I will probably move the article to draft. BOZ (talk) 00:13, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Darrin Drader was recently gutted, so I am not sure if there are any sources available for that one. BOZ (talk) 21:39, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have only been able to find a couple of short interviews with him, one on a blog, and one here The problem seems to be that he although has made numerous contributions to various tomes, he has always been one of many. On his own, he has only written a couple of e-published novels. Still looking, but not hopeful. Guinness323 (talk) 04:06, 12 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, I had my doubts on that one, but thanks for checking. BOZ (talk) 16:58, 12 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Someone went on a real tear with Forgotten Realms books, the apparent intention to clear out the category entirely. I understand there are many and any one volunteer only has so much time (oh, but deleting takes so little work and time, especially when not taking time to assess an article and using a boilerplate rationale, doesn't it?), but do you see anything more for any of the following?: Volo's Guide to the Dalelands, Champions of Ruin, Netheril: Empire of Magic, Anauroch (accessory), Aurora's Whole Realms Catalog, The Bloodstone Lands, Giantcraft, The Great Glacier, Underdark (supplement), Unapproachable East (supplement), Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, Champions of Valor, Cities of Mystery, City of Splendors: Waterdeep, The Code of the Harpers, The Dalelands, Draconomicon, Dragons of Faerûn, Dreams of the Red Wizards, Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark, Drow of the Underdark, City System, Ed Greenwood Presents Elminster's Forgotten Realms, Elminster's Ecologies Appendix I: The Battle of Bones / Hill of Lost Souls, Elminster's Ecologies Appendix II: The High Moor / The Serpent Hills, Empires of the Sands, Faiths & Avatars, Faiths and Pantheons, The Forgotten Realms Atlas, Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide, Forgotten Realms Player's Guide, Gold & Glory, The Grand History of the Realms, Hall of Heroes (Forgotten Realms), Heroes' Lorebook, The Horde (boxed set), The Jungles of Chult, Horde Campaign, Lords of Darkness, Lost Empires of Faerûn (accessory), Magic of Faerûn, The Magister, Maztica Campaign Set, Menzoberranzan: City of Intrigue, Monsters of Faerûn, Moonshae, Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, Mysteries of the Moonsea, Netheril: Empire of Magic, The North: Guide to the Savage Frontier, Old Empires, Pages from the Mages, Pirates of the Fallen Stars, Player's Guide to Faerûn, Player's Guide to the Forgotten Realms Campaign, Power of Faerûn, Races of Faerûn, The Ruins of Myth Drannor, The Ruins of Undermountain, Ruins of Zhentil Keep, The Savage Frontier, Serpent Kingdoms, The Seven Sisters, Shining South (accessory), The Shining South, Silver Marches (accessory), The Vilhon Reach, Villains' Lorebook, Volo's Guide to All Things Magical, Volo's Guide to Monsters, Volo's Guide to Waterdeep, Warriors and Priests of the Realms, Waterdeep and the North, Wizards and Rogues of the Realms, Xanathar's Guide to Everything. Some of them do have one or more independent sources already, but anything we can't source can always be merged to List of Forgotten Realms modules and sourcebooks. I will check through Designers & Dragons for them tomorrow. BOZ (talk) 05:21, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I was able to add some notes to several of them from Designers & Dragons. Any help you can give on any of them is great – some of the PRODs were removed, and a few are at AFD – but if you want some direction on prioritizing, some of the ones most in need of TLC with currently no indication of independent sources at all would be:
That is still a lot but is a much smaller list, so if you can pick any of those off, that would at the very minimum give us something to merge into the list article. BOZ (talk) 17:13, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Just one with a PROD, in case you have anything for Transformers (board game). BOZ (talk) 16:35, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Did a deep dive, but because it was essentially a kids' game before Transformers became huge, there's no coverage from major game magazines, gaming 'zines, game reviewers. There is one podcast on "Flip the Table", I'll add it once I've listened to it. Not sure that will be enough to save it... Guinness323 (talk) 21:15, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see any sources for Teeuwynn Woodruff? BOZ (talk) 12:35, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, two podcast interviews with her, both about 45 minutes long. Haven't found anything else -- in my research, I have often found in the games industry that the male designers and artists seem to get the profiles, articles and reviews... Guinness323 (talk) 07:17, 16 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of articles were redirected earlier this week, but I moved them to draft for now - Dragon Ball Z: The Anime Adventure Game and GURPS Casey and Andy - if you can find anything for either of those, I will move them back, otherwise I will just move them back and restore the redirects. BOZ (talk) 22:43, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Initially thought you were joking about the GURPS Casey and Andy :) Couldn't find any RS for either of them :( Guinness323 (talk) 16:03, 30 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
LOL, no worries - I was a little dubious of that myself. ;) I will move the back and restore them as redirects for someone else to try again another day! BOZ (talk) 20:38, 30 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A few fictional elements of note, but they all have a better shot at notability than most: Neverwinter, Waterdeep, and Kara-Tur. BOZ (talk) 03:14, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I saw those come up on the "dailies" and took a look for some RS sources. They suffer from the problem of underexposure from overexposure: they are so well-known that articles are not written about them -- authors think that readers already know so much about them that they only get mentioned as part of whatever setting they are being used in. I'll keep looking, but... Guinness323 (talk) 07:48, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, I hear ya, thanks for checking. BOZ (talk) 13:31, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An article on David Hecht had been converted to a redirect, but I moved it to Draft space now and I was wondering if you saw anything useful for building that one? BOZ (talk) 19:05, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wow you have been handing out some tough assignments. Did a relatively deep dive during a Zoom meeting, there is general recognition through brief mentions that he is (or was) very prolific in the 18xx world (8 titles from 2000-2007), but no in print interviews, no RS reviews, one audio interview with him on a podcast called Wheel Tapping from July 2020. Another case of "everyone in this particular area KNOWS this, but no one has written it down for the rest of us to know." Guinness323 (talk) 20:04, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, dang, thanks for checking. BOZ (talk) 22:54, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sources are coming up in the AFDs for Tiamat and Wulfgar so those may turn out OK, but do you see anything for Gord the Rogue? BOZ (talk) 13:32, 13 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I did relatively deep dive into gaming magazines when I saw GtR come up for AFD. Didn't find a lot on Gord himself, did find one short review for one of the early novels (not a glowing reference, something along the lines of "English language abused so badly it made my brain hurt"), plus references to a couple of the other novels reviewed in another periodical. But nothing on Gord himself. I suspect the lack of reviews and references is because most reviewers didn't take the series seriously -- not a major fantasy author, not a major fantasy publisher, etc. Gord certainly hasn't been the subject of any doctoral dissertations in the same way as Frodo or Bilbo. Suggestions? Guinness323 (talk) 23:29, 13 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the PROD was removed for Gord, so if necessary he can be merged into the characters article, but we'll see. The other two at AFD can hopefully be saved based on the sources found. BOZ (talk) 23:40, 13 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I added those sources just to be on the safe side. Guinness323 (talk) 01:05, 14 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

And now another major Forgotten Realms character faces the axe... BOZ (talk) 13:52, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Which one? (Haven't seen it in the auto-updates yet.) 16:51, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

Do you see anything for Nebula 19? BOZ (talk) 13:04, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Several AFDs and PRODs on the board games article alerts from yesterday! BOZ (talk) 13:23, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, bad timing. I am doing a short-term teaching thing for the next four weeks, my available time will be very limited. I'll see what I can do. :( Guinness323 (talk) 04:18, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, OK! I hope that goes well, that is more important. :) BOZ (talk) 04:27, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
A bunch more on that one today, mostly PRODs. BOZ (talk) 14:03, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know that it will be an issue, but it could become one - do you see anything more for The Risen (Wraith: The Oblivion)? BOZ (talk) 05:38, 1 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No worries - I did a deeper dive into looking for Wraith reviews after the failed FLC of the book list for the game, and that was when I noticed the Dragon and Shadis reviews for that one. :) BOZ (talk) 02:22, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

FORCE (Villains and Vigilantes) is not in any danger, but it looks like the article is going to be part of a student project, so I was wondering if you saw anything more to be added to this one? BOZ (talk) 05:50, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There may very well be more later (maybe many more) but for now, do you see anything to help expand Bad Medicine for Dr. Drugs and Deadlands: Reloaded? BOZ (talk) 15:33, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Separate issue here, but there are three wargames up for AFD on the board games Article alerts page, two of which are from the 1970s. BOZ (talk) 13:00, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The games from the 1970s were do-able. I have found no sources for the third. Guinness323 (talk) 19:42, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully these are the last ones for now, but do you see anything for GURPS Rogues, GURPS Gulliver, or Autoduel Quarterly? Also, Anauroch (accessory) is at AFD in case you see any sources for that one. BOZ (talk) 00:19, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I was not able to find anything usable for any of the preceding four items. My feeling is that SJG might have overdone the niche GUPRS books, or at least as far as reviewers were concerned. Anauroch falls into the same area, being the 13th or 14th Forgotten Realms splat book. Guinness323 (talk) 22:49, 25 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, no worries - thanks for checking. :) BOZ (talk) 23:00, 25 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just so that we are clear, my feelibf is that as a self-published fan product, GURPS Gulliver is probably not notable and should probably be jettisoned. Also, the thing with GURPS Rogues is that the pure template books - that one, GURPS Wizards and GURPS Warriors - are deep into the weeds as far as GURPS goes, since unlike the genre books and the licensed books, they are entirely "inside GURPS" as it were and wouldn't ever allow anyone to actually play a game, nor did they add subsystems like GURPS Vehicles et al.
What I would love to see instead of these anomalous articles is a treatment of the GURPS Compensium books - notably Compendium I. Currently the GURPS Basic Set article gets it wrong when it dates the "3.5" edition equivalent to the inclusion of the appendix material in the 1994 printing. That happened, but the actual change to the line was that after the publication of Compendium I, new sourcebooks for 3e (except the ones designed for GURPS Lite or "Powered by GURPS") required Compendium I as well as the Basic Set to play, as in they gave page references to Compendium I rather than repeating needed material. I haven't reviewed all the GURPS articles in detail, but I don't think Basic Set brings that point across.
Unless there are some great Compendium reviews I don't know about, the prudent course might be to insert a section for the Compendium books in the Basic Set article explaining the change to the way the Basic Set was used by SJG. If sources for notability were to appear, Compendium I (or I + II) could be given their own article, but in the mean time at least that basic cap in the game's history would be covered. All of this strikes me as much more worthwhile than the Rogues article, IMO. I'm not planning to send the latter to AfD myself, but I do think it's worth establishing priorities based on the needs of an interested reader. Newimpartial (talk) 16:13, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if there are any sources for R.A.G.E. (Reaper Adventure Game Engine), but it might be mergeable into either the company page, or into Combat Assault Vehicle? There was also an article for Warlord (miniature game), which was deleted by PROD for notability long ago. BOZ (talk) 12:22, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

R.A.G.E. is the generic miniatures wargame system behind products like Warlord and CAV. As such, reviews of the overlying games mention it superficially but do not focus on it. I would say it is a good candidate for a merge with the company page or CAV after a bit of a rewrite, since at the moment, the article is a direct cut & paste from a Reaper Miniatures product promo page. Guinness323 (talk) 18:00, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There is already a section on the CAV page for R.A.G.E. I have removed the cut & paste promo material with a more informative statement. That may preempt the need for a merge, since there is no more info in the R.A.G.E. article that could be ported to the paragraph in CAV. Guinness323 (talk) 18:13, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Do you see anything for the Demon City Shinjuku Role-Playing Game which was redirected but then restored, and I moved it to draft? BOZ (talk) 12:28, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
How about for Ken Cliffe? BOZ (talk) 02:44, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
He might be mentioned in reviews of Ars Magica 3rd edition (1992) or the new World of Darkness storytelling book (2004), which are his most prominent credits. Or in the context of those game lines, for whom he was line developer. The way White Wolf buried its author credits makes it harder to populate those articles well, IMO. Newimpartial (talk) 03:05, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing is jumping out. He's written a lot, and was editor of White Wolf for a time, but seems not to have given any interviews, nor have reviews of his products mentioned him in particular. Guinness323 (talk) 06:13, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Easter is a season for renewal, so might be a good time for a resurrection. I was thinking within the last couple of weeks that I had made an article about the D&D Trail Map series at some point but that I had moved it to draft and could not find it again, but then the other day I found that I had moved it to my user space at User:BOZ/Trail Map (Dungeons & Dragons). :) No idea if there are any other sources for that one, but either way I would want to finally move it back to article space (and if necessary, it can be merged to the list of sourebooks). BOZ (talk) 20:00, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Easter! Wish I could help with Trail Maps (I own a bunch of these), but surprisingly I have not found anything about them from RS, just a few blogs. Very surprising, given the good quality of these maps. The other thing I find interesting for a late 80s TSR release is that all of these are completely uncredited. Don't know if this was just a sign of disrespect for the TSR cartographers, an oversight, or a printing error??? Guinness323 (talk) 21:27, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, oh well, but thanks for checking! :) I will move the edit history back into article space but probably wind up merging or something, who knows what might be found in the future. BOZ (talk) 22:35, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Complete Wargames Handbook has two reviews which ought to be enough on its own, but just in case do you see any more? BOZ (talk) 20:06, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see anything more for David O. Miller? BOZ (talk) 20:31, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lots of promo stuff, one podcast interview, but no secondary sources or reviews.Guinness323 (talk) 00:11, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you see any reviews for Indiana Jones and the Tomb of the Templars, I will restore it, otherwise it will eventually wind up on my big to-do list. ;) BOZ (talk) 02:31, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Quick search turns up one review: Rollespilsmagasinet Fønix, Issue 9 (August/September 1995, p.56, in Danish) Guinness323 (talk) 04:23, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Anything more for The Nightmare Maze of Jigrésh? BOZ (talk) 14:32, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if A Fistful of TOWs is salvageable? BOZ (talk) 15:15, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Do you see anything more out there for The Gamers: Hands of Fate or the other films in that series? BOZ (talk) 12:44, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
How about anything more for Marcelo Del Debbio? BOZ (talk) 10:24, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Got anything for Learn Magic Cards? BOZ (talk) 17:09, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing more for Learn Magic Cards. The single review in Dragon is pretty savage. According to the reviewer, the author of this book makes a lot of egregious mistakes about basic rules. Guinness323 (talk) 23:56, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there Guinness323. :) No idea if you would have anything for Posse: Thirteen Against One, but I always hate to see games that old come up for deletion when they are from major publishers. I know you are busy at the moment, but much the same could be said for Fields of Action, Malarkey (board game), and Operation Greif (game), and possibly publisher Take on You as well. BOZ (talk) 12:45, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It is a curiosity that I can find no info about Take on You other than Benjamin Maillet's Linked In page lists him as a co-founder. But no articles or interviews in French or English that I can find.Guinness323 (talk) 15:52, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Did what I could with Posse, but it ain't much. Guinness323 (talk) 23:43, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Good deal on those games; the publisher Take on You has been relisted at AFD so that one has a little more time. BOZ (talk) 10:11, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Odd that this company has no article on frwiki, although it is possible they go under a different name in French? BOZ (talk) 23:58, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As a much lesser issue with no particular deadline, you already did some work on Tower of the Dead but if there is anything more to build it up that would help as well. BOZ (talk) 12:45, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Found more info on Tower of the Dead author Richard Snider (and his death in 2009), but nothing more on Tower of the Dead. Woulda thought it would have garnered more reviews at the time, but apparentlyu not. Guinness323 (talk) 20:09, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Alas, I have been laid up with vertigo, and have only returned to the keyboard today -- with strict instructions from the doctor to limit my on-screen time. I'll see what I can do about these items, but it may take me several days. Guinness323 (talk) 21:08, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Gotcha, don't overdo it, the rest of the AFDs will last several days so no rush. BOZ (talk) 00:55, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
One more, no rush - Codex: Imperial Guard was redirected, even though I found two reviews for it.  :( BOZ (talk) 22:21, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for looking into these - hopefully you are feeling better? Tower of the Dead is the last one needing more immediate attention, if you can find anything more that you didn't see before. BOZ (talk) 16:10, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

BattleTech: 25 Years of Art & Fiction was redirected earlier today, although it won two awards. Also, a notability tag was placed on Space Empires (board game) which may have more sources. BOZ (talk) 22:00, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if there would be sources for any of them, but CHARGE!, Johnny Reb Gaming Society, and Naval Wargames Society have been PRODded. BOZ (talk) 10:37, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have looked but have found no independent sources other than blogs. Sounds like a great group, but no RS reviews or articles that I can find. Guinness323 (talk) 18:31, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for checking - can't save 'em all. BOZ (talk) 00:48, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Do you see anything for Miguel Coimbra? BOZ (talk) 05:17, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also, not sure whether Compass Games is salvageable. BOZ (talk) 04:35, 2 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Still looking for both but losing hope :( Guinness323 (talk) 20:07, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Advanced d20 Magic was PRODded - I added links to both RPGnet and RPGGeek for more info but neither of them listed any reviews. BOZ (talk) 13:03, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also on GURPS Ultra-Tech and Tenchi Muyo! (role-playing game). BOZ (talk) 05:29, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I moved Krynnspace to draft - do you see anything at all for that one? BOZ (talk) 18:18, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see anything for Grind (board game)? BOZ (talk) 14:14, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any sources that could help improve Josh Mosqueira? BOZ (talk) 01:24, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ogre (board game) has been nominated for GAR - not the biggest deal in the world to keep it as a GA, but never hurts to have the recognition. BOZ (talk) 13:36, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I restored Psionics Handbook based on one review that I found, but are you aware of any other sources or reviews? BOZ (talk) 23:02, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Do you see any more sources for Mike Tinney*, Dread: The First Book of Pandemonium, True Realm, or Ian Marsh (writer)? BOZ (talk) 13:18, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
True Realm: The only thing I've been able to rustle up is an article in Knights of the Dinner Table Magazine #24 by Mike Steele titled "True Realm: One party's experience at a special two-day True Dungeon event". However, I have not (yet) found access to that issue.Guinness323 (talk) 01:10, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also today, TerraDrive. BOZ (talk) 13:18, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Super obscure. I don't believe it achieved orbit in 2007 as planned.Guinness323 (talk) 01:10, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Do you see anything that could help with Ethan Skemp which is at PROD? BOZ (talk) 13:23, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ENnie Awards was just PRODded and unPRODded - I will see what else I can find for that one. BOZ (talk) 17:44, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see anything more for Super Genius Games? BOZ (talk) 13:20, 5 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I can't find anything, sorry. Guinness323 (talk) 07:54, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I decided to be bold and bring back RDF Sourcebook - do you have anything more for that one? BOZ (talk) 18:35, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:The Complete Book of Elves was declined 6 months ago - do you see any non-primary sources to improve it? BOZ (talk) 21:34, 11 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ughh, 2E splat books is HARD! How does https://www.escapistmagazine.com/torment-writer-officially-apologizes-for-complete-book-of-elves look as a secondary source? Admittedly doesn't talk about the book as much as insult the bok... Guinness323 (talk) 21:40, 11 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
LOL, nice. :) Well, I added a little bit from that. If nothing else, I can always move it into article space and redirect it to the list of sourcebooks, in the hopes that maybe one day the sources will exist to bring it back! BOZ (talk) 22:34, 11 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

See anything for artist Doug Kovacs? BOZ (talk) 03:25, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've taken a shallow dip in the interwebs and find little other than what he has done (mainly for DCC), but no substantive commentary on his art. Was special guest at a minor con in 2017, one blogger interview. Guinness323 (talk) 16:21, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure that Infernum (role-playing game) was covered in Designers, which I will check shortly, but maybe it has more sources beyond that? BOZ (talk) 13:00, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Alas, on a road trip today, will check it out tomorrow. Guinness323 (talk) 16:40, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Same here, I was out most of the day. :) BOZ (talk) 01:48, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I noted a couple of reviews from RPGGeek were noted on the AFD, no idea if there are more. BOZ (talk) 04:06, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Another one, while we're at it: Imperial 2030. BOZ (talk) 11:40, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And one more, in case there is anything for Power Rangers Collectible Card Game. :) BOZ (talk) 23:10, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wow! All of these are super-obscure, and short-lived. Not a lot of interest shown by media... Guinness323 (talk) 07:40, 31 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Do you see anything more for Peter J. Wacks, who has done some work on CCGs? BOZ (talk) 22:30, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How about anything more for Smuggler's Guide to the Rim? BOZ (talk) 12:21, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

David Ladyman got redirected so I moved the article to draft space; do you see any more sources to improve this article? BOZ (talk) 19:29, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Some deletion activity lately, including Armorica (game) if there is anything to be done for that one. Also SkyRealms Publishing was PRODded at this version and then redirected; if there are more and better sources it can be moved to draft space or simply restored. BOZ (talk) 13:29, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
One more today, SSDC, Inc.. BOZ (talk) 10:53, 30 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
One more today, A Fistful of Turkeys. BOZ (talk) 01:39, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also Flextiles and Star Frontiers Character Record Sheets are up for merge, in case that one has more sources. BOZ (talk) 13:09, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing on these at the moment but I've made a note of them. I sometimes come across reviews of things like these in scans of zines etc. that have not been OCR'd (and thus do not show up on a Google search.) Guinness323 (talk) 16:18, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Anything more for apparent award-winner Australia (board game) and Japanese game Star Legend? BOZ (talk) 11:40, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There is a PROD on Winning Moves in case you have anything for that one. BOZ (talk) 11:45, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also, see anything for Angriff!? BOZ (talk) 12:39, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Anything more for Gamewright Games? BOZ (talk) 03:25, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I mhave not been able tyo find any reviews or interviews for Gamewright :( They are certainly flying below the radar. I'm also searching for SSDC, nothing yet. Guinness323 (talk) 23:19, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for checking! BOZ (talk) 03:23, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How about Fire and Ice (board game)? BOZ (talk) 02:35, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Or recent game Fearsome Wilderness? BOZ (talk) 11:35, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Or two more recent games Twin Tin Bots and Dungeoneer (game)? BOZ (talk) 12:30, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How about Catan: Traders & Barbarians? BOZ (talk) 03:29, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Found a couple of German reviews.Guinness323 (talk) 23:30, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok thanks! By the way, the deleting editor is pinging you on some of the AFDs and discussions, so when he does that I'm not also posting here. BOZ (talk) 02:09, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You put a good amount of work into Ford Ivey last year after he died, but is there anymore more for him now? BOZ (talk) 12:12, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also two more RPGs: Star Wreck Roleplaying Game and The Metabarons Roleplaying Game. BOZ (talk) 12:17, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Japanese tabletop RPG, in case anything exists for it: Satasupe. BOZ (talk) 22:10, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Alas, I was not able to find a single secondary source for it other than blogs. Guinness323 (talk) 04:11, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And one more besides that, a PROD on Icar. BOZ (talk) 11:02, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
From what I've been able to gather, a free RPG. But no RS yet. Guinness323 (talk) 03:25, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

One more, article redirected in case there is anything else for this one: [5] BOZ (talk) 15:26, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

One more PROD today, Dream Craft. BOZ (talk) 14:16, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see anything more for Chaos Machine (toy) or Ironsworn? BOZ (talk) 12:53, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Already, got Frosthaven, King of the Mountain (board game), and Fastbreak (card game). BOZ (talk) 12:23, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Frontier Forts of Kelnore was redirected from here - I don't know if there are sources out there to make it worth restoring. BOZ (talk) 14:26, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OK, absolutely the final work for a month (literally done while packing a suitcase). See my Sandbox (down at the bottom) for an improved version, featuring a review and a reference from Strong's Museum of Play. If this is enough to resurrect the article, feel free to cut and paste it. Guinness323 (talk) 20:48, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hah! Finished packing and still had enough time to remove the redirect.Guinness323 (talk) 23:35, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see anything for Jenna K. Moran (also wrote as "Rebecca Sean Borgstrom" and "R./Ryan Sean Borgstrom")? BOZ (talk) 13:59, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to see you back. :) So, aside from the last few I mentioned above (going back to Sep 15 and 16) ... fortunately, we had very low deletion activity in the last month. :) The only things I really felt like bringing up here were that:

As always, anything you can do for any of them would be appreciated. :) BOZ (talk) 01:41, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

One more, a declined AFC submission at Draft:Arnold Hendrick. BOZ (talk) 05:32, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Any luck finding anything else for any of the rest of these articles? BOZ (talk) 13:34, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing about Blackwatch or Oliver Jovanovic. The two articles tagged for merge have two RS's each, my feeling is that they should be standalone articles. However, I have been unable to find anything more for either of them. Guinness323 (talk) 16:59, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I restored the previously redirected The Watersdown Affair after finding another review for it. BOZ (talk) 01:07, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
See anything more for Ghosts In the Black? BOZ (talk) 04:48, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Haven't found anything yet. Guinness323 (talk) 06:21, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How about RPC54? BOZ (talk) 12:04, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, super obscure. I'll do some more digging, but... Guinness323 (talk) 16:33, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
With a game like Avalanche (marble game), it seems something with such a long publication history from major companies should have some sources out there... BOZ (talk) 13:30, 17 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Roger Sanger was redirected from here if you have anything more for him. BOZ (talk) 21:14, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
See anything that can be used to resurrect Roger Sanger? If not, just let me know and I'll move on from that. BOZ (talk) 03:10, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Other then the reference to him in Appelcline, I found several minor references to Roger Sanger as a member of the History of the Imperium Working Group in Seattle in the mid-1980s, a Traveller group trying to come up with a new RPG replacement for Traveller after the introduction of Megatraveller. That is all I've been able to find. After Sanger acquired DGP's assets and failed to get a licensing deal with GDW after asking for 6 figures, he seems to have fallen off the map. Guinness323 (talk) 05:49, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK thanks for looking, I moved him to Draft:Roger Sanger, if you don't mind adding what you can to that, and I will keep it there for now. What you found does at least sound interesting. BOZ (talk) 11:49, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Guinness323, if you are available did you have a go finding sources for Alaric the Goth: Fall of the Western Roman Empire which BOZ mentioned previously? A capsule review probably not meeting SIGCOV definitely isn't sufficient. Thanks. VickKiang (talk) 21:14, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reminder, VickKiang. I will be involved in other projects until Christmas. If you are amenable, I am willing to spend some time researching Alaric first thing in the New Year.Guinness323 (talk) 21:19, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No worries and thanks for the reply. VickKiang (talk) 21:22, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Whenever you're ready for a new project, publisher of some articles you've recently worked on has a draft in progress at Draft:Hexagames. :) BOZ (talk) 21:52, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you do see anything for this German board game publisher, that might be enough to help get it past AFC. BOZ (talk) 04:16, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
A notability tag was added to Zev Shlasinger whom I'm sure is fairly important in the board games industry. BOZ (talk) 01:35, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Someone restored Gamewright Games which is again up for deletion because they did not redirect it or do anything to improve it. :\ The company does have several games in Category:Gamewright Games games so maybe there are some sources out there to help with the article this time? BOZ (talk) 19:42, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
AFD was a keep, based in large part on your efforts. :) BOZ (talk) 14:45, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

talk:BOZ|talk]]) 23:10, 31 December 2022 (UTC)

In this discussion an editor asked for potential improvements for Mississippi Queen (board game). which won the notable Spiel des Jahres. If you have time it would be great if you can add some reviews in older magazines. Thanks! VickKiang (talk) 02:47, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See anything useable for Jim Crabtree? BOZ (talk) 02:49, 16 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I missed this one from yesterday, but got anything for the supplement Orcs and Goblins (Warhammer)? BOZ (talk) 15:58, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This book does have a review in Dragon, but Warhammer books can be trickier to find reviews for, since unless RPG books we don't have RPGnet and RPGgeek to point us to the reviews. BOZ (talk) 06:36, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see anything for Lisa Trutkoff Trumbauer? BOZ (talk) 03:23, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's been a nice and quiet few days in deletion-land... but now we've got a PROD on Misfit Studios, if you have anything for that. BOZ (talk) 12:45, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't been able to find anything, but I've contacted the owner of Misfit to see if he's aware of any RS sources.
You were pinged on my talk page for Gunship 2000 (wargame) and Fantasy Land (board game), but still I am bringing them up here just in case you can find anything for either. BOZ (talk) 10:38, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Gunship 2000: Other than the Space Gamer review, and mentions in price lists of the era, I haven't been able to find other resources thus far. I have contacted the current owner of the company about possible articles from back in the day, but I believe ownership has changed hands several times in 40 years, so slim hope... Guinness323 (talk) 18:47, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks! Apologies that this has to happen, but I might need to nominate these two for AfD after a couple of days, maybe the Fantasy Land (board game) first, but ping me first if you find more refs for the first one. Many thanks! VickKiang (talk) 22:28, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Got anything for Alaric the Goth: Fall of the Western Roman Empire? BOZ (talk) 05:18, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also today if you have anything, Mask Trilogy and Mythic Table. BOZ (talk) 13:11, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And also, Titanic: The Board Game. BOZ (talk) 04:15, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And another today: Universal Games. BOZ (talk) 13:25, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I will take a look for all of these. Guinness323 (talk) 01:53, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have several articles that are tagged for sources, if you don't mind checking if there is anything more for any of them?: Vultures (board game), Dragonlance (board game), Man the Lifeboat, Scan (card game), What the Heck?, Black Monday (card game), and Career Poker. BOZ (talk) 11:56, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Have found some sources for What the Heck?, off-line for a couple of days, will follow up on this and the others upon my return. Guinness323 (talk) 17:46, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OK cool, enjoy those days. :) Will keep in touch if something important comes up. BOZ (talk) 23:57, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't often ask you to take a look at video game articles, but I am kind of at a loss for what to do on Blitzkrieg (1981 video game). BOZ (talk) 14:45, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
All I;ve been able to discover is that the game was originally programmed for Apple IIe in 1979, but unfortunately, no further info or reviews. Programma International was one of the very early software companies, before any of the computer trade magazines had been created, hence the lack of coverage. Guinness323 (talk) 19:16, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for checking; I'll likely redirect it next week. BOZ (talk) 20:35, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Correction: There were a (small) number of computer trade magazines in existence in 1978, but few of them survived very long, and almost none have been scanned to the Cloud. Guinness323 (talk) 21:17, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have found quite a few of them on the Internet Archive; see here for a partial index. Alas though, I tried a general search on the IA for this game and came up empty. You may find this quite valuable for other things, though. :) BOZ ([[User
After your work on the Shootout at the Saloon article by Nova Game Designs, I was reminded that Dragonriders of Pern (picture book game) from the same company was redirected a while ago, but I found a couple more reviews in a sci-fi magazine as noted here, and I was wondering if there was anything else in other gaming magazines about that one. BOZ (talk) 06:38, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I restored the Dragonriders article as I believe I now have enough for it to meet the GNG. :) BOZ (talk) 19:19, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Do you see anything at all for GURPS Gulliver? BOZ (talk) 15:01, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It apparently is a fan-generated document. The only mentions I have found are the fan's website, and a mention in a user-generated GURPS wiki that directs readers to the fan's website. Guinness323 (talk) 17:18, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have several more articles that are tagged for sources, if you don't mind checking if there is anything more for them?: Mr. Trucker, Bewitched (board game), Insider Dealing (board game), Schoko & Co., and Slick!. BOZ (talk) 12:11, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For Bewitched [6] Timur9008 (talk) 16:22, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, I think that's good enough for a gameplay reference at least. :) BOZ (talk) 18:21, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The only one I was able to find more resources for was Schoko & Co. Guinness323 (talk) 23:49, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh wow, but gotcha, and thanks for getting that one! I think these were likely all European games, and some of them may have had different names. We'll see what else may come up in the future! BOZ (talk) 02:29, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
A few older games on an election theme, in case you have anything more for any of them: Campaign Trail: The Game of Presidential Elections, Who Can Beat Nixon?, Presidential Campaign (board game), Election (board game). BOZ (talk) 14:40, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Found a few sources for the first two, nothing for the last two. Guinness323 (talk) 07:41, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that is a help. :) BOZ (talk) 13:57, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently Jonathan M. Thompson has died this weekend, per a Facebook post from a friend. I see nothing official about this online yet, and with hobby folks I haven't always, but hopefully something will materialize soon. BOZ (talk) 00:06, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see anything more for the Marvel Super Heroes supplements Concrete Jungle (supplement), Weapons Locker (supplement), or Project Wideawake (supplement)? BOZ (talk) 21:36, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am surprised by the lack of coverage on these. I'll take another dive, but so far have turned up nothing other than copies for sale on eBay. Guinness323 (talk) 05:19, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks for anything you can do there. BOZ (talk) 12:55, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
One more to go along with those, The Ultimate Powers Book was redirected from here if you see anything more for that one. BOZ (talk) 13:40, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Concrete Jungle and Weapons Locker were redirected, but Project Wideawake was not. How about Gates of What If? BOZ (talk) 13:27, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
On a somewhat related note, do you see anything more for any of these: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Guide to the Universe, Truckin' Turtles, Turtles Go Hollywood, or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures (role-playing game supplement)? BOZ (talk) 12:43, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, it's like the world ignored TMNT. I have nothing. Guinness323 (talk) 06:45, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, gotcha... thanks for checking. The game itself was published a couple of years before the cartoon, so its impact was much less than it could have been. BOZ (talk) 11:05, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Many notability tags have been added to comics articles lately, including comics-related RPG articles, and I will address them all eventually. For now, do you see anything for Flash Gordon & the Warriors of Mongo or for Spelljammer (comics)? BOZ (talk) 11:42, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
See anything more for Shadowdale (module), Tantras (module), and Waterdeep (module)? BOZ (talk) 07:23, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How about, do you see anything for Double Arena? BOZ (talk) 15:44, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
With indie RPGs hitting it relatively big nowadays, I'm wondering if there is more out there for Night Sky Games. This should be the last of these that I will ask you to look at for this week, unless something new comes up. BOZ (talk) 21:00, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
A bunch needing attention sooner or later, but one needing attention sooner rather than later: Shadow of the Flame. BOZ (talk) 03:58, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing on this one, sorry. 04:33, 5 May 2023 (UTC) Guinness323 (talk) 04:33, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Several more in line with this one, but right now After Midnight (adventure) is the only one with a merge tag. BOZ (talk) 12:24, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Marvel RPG supplements with notability tags, in case you see anything more for any of them: Cosmos Cubed, Deluxe City Campaign Set, Flames of Doom, Mutating Mutants. BOZ (talk) 13:52, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Out of town for the week, but I'll look into these when I get back Guinness323 (talk) 15:30, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is now (or soon) as good of a time as any?  ;) BOZ (talk) 22:11, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Found some cites for first three, not for the final one. Guinness323 (talk) 21:56, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, glad to see it. :) BOZ (talk) 23:31, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Back to Marvel RPG supplements with notability tags, in case you see anything more for any of them: New York, New York (supplement), Night Moves (adventure), Nightmares of Futures Past, Reap the Whirlwind (adventure), and Ragnarok and Roll. BOZ (talk) 00:00, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, and thank you. :) The last few Marvel RPG supplements with notability tags added, if you can please look at them whenever: The Fantastic Four Compendium, The Last Resort (adventure), The Left Hand of Eternity, and The X-Potential. BOZ (talk) 00:55, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hope you are doing well.  :) More game articles with source tags added, all from notable publishers, if you have anything more for any of them: Maloney's Inheritance*, Tokyo Express: The Guadalcanal Naval Campaign – 1942*, Desert Falcons (board game)*, The Campaigns of Robert E. Lee, Test of Arms. BOZ (talk) 06:21, 16 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm seeing early reports that Russ Nicholson died last week, but I am not seeing anything official yet. BOZ (talk) 21:29, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see anything more for Monte Michael Moore or Jim Pavelec? BOZ (talk) 23:40, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How about for Victory at Sea (game)? BOZ (talk) 12:48, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Two BLPs, a merge tag was put on Jolly Blackburn, and Peter Olotka was simply merged, so I don't know if there are more sources for him but it might be better to have an article on him than to have him awkwardly merged into the company article the way he was. BOZ (talk) 06:15, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Do you see anything for The Gauntlet (tabletop games producer), Chaos Marauders, or 30 Years of Adventure? BOZ (talk) 13:07, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How about anything for Todd Breitenstein? BOZ (talk) 03:20, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've got one small review for Dungeons & Dragons Gazetteer, but do you see anything more? BOZ (talk) 22:44, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How about High Society (card game)? BOZ (talk) 07:08, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Pirates of the Crimson Coast, Pirates of the Revolution, Pirates at Ocean's Edge, and Pirates of the Caribbean PocketModels have been proposed for merging into the main article; the question is, are any of them notable? BOZ (talk) 11:36, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know whether those are salvageable, but at worst they would be merged anyway. As for Metagaming (role-playing games), I'm wondering if there is more out there for it to be kept as a standalone article or not. BOZ (talk) 16:33, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
A review and an award for Paranoia Mandatory Bonus Fun! Card Game, do you see anything else to help with notability? BOZ (talk) 22:10, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Anything for Liftoff! by Task Force? BOZ (talk) 03:40, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I figured that Crystal Frasier had been built up pretty well, but someone disagreed and added a notability tag. BOZ (talk) 12:20, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
See anything for German game Vector (game) or artist Michael Fishel[7]? BOZ (talk) 12:28, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have anything for Amethyst RPG? Also, a notability tag was added to Dark Horse Miniatures in case you have anything more for that one. BOZ (talk) 04:40, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed up Dark Horse, but found nothing for Amethyst. Guinness323 (talk) 21:08, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How about for Greyspace? BOZ (talk) 09:44, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How about for GURPS Rogues and GURPS Timeline? BOZ (talk) 09:45, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, nothing for GURPS Rogues.Guinness323 (talk) 15:25, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for checking. BOZ (talk) 17:48, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
One last set of these for now, how about the Dragonlance novels The Lake of Death, Sacred Fire (novel), and Wizards' Conclave? BOZ (talk) 17:48, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The three Star Trek games and one supplement from Last Unicorn Games were all just merged into a series article. I agree that a series article is a good thing, but I am wondering if there is enough potential in having separate topics for Star Trek: The Next Generation Role-playing Game, Star Trek Role Playing Game [8]*, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Role Playing Game [9]*, or Star Trek: The Next Generation Narrator's Toolkit [10]* that any of those should have separate pages apart from the series page? BOZ (talk) 18:20, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just a heads-up that I am in the midst of getting ready for an end-of-the-month move, and will not have a lot of time for Wiki adventures. I hope to be back to previous levels of time expenditure in early November.Guinness323 (talk) 17:05, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh wow, OK! Best of luck with that. :) I will still let you know about things that come up for deletion, in case you can help at some point. I've been busy trying to resurrect some BLP articles with some assistance and so far so good. :) I also hope that the Refideas talk page notice will be live by early November. BOZ (talk) 19:29, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Do you see anything more for Infinity (role-playing game)? BOZ (talk) 16:01, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Both the RPG and the company, unfortunately, use an identical and rather generic title, which makes wading through thousands of search returns very difficult. But all I can find is a single line mention in an ad in Different Worlds 8 (June 1980) that indicates Lou Zocchi was the American distributor; and a brief mention in a trivia question by Lawrence Schick in Dragon 177. However, nothing substantive. :( Guinness323 (talk) 16:57, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah yeah, OK thanks for checking. :) BOZ (talk) 18:34, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
See anything more for Games Workshop offshoots Mantic Games and Warlord Games? BOZ (talk) 13:46, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How about anything for Highway 2000 (board game)? BOZ (talk) 16:42, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Do you see anything more for Bits and Mortar? BOZ (talk) 17:03, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am unable to find anything, sorry. Guinness323 (talk) 18:17, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Great work on going through The Complete Guide to Role-Playing Games. :) In yet another case of drive-by tagging, an IP recently hit up The Bronze Grimoire, Legendary Duck Tower, City of Lei Tabor, Duck Pond (Judges Guild), Hellpits of Nightfang, Secret Societies (Nephilim), and Serpent Moon. Do you see anything more to improve any of them? BOZ (talk) 13:02, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Did anything more pop up for Duck Pond or Secret Societies? If not, I'm still happy about what you found for the others. :) BOZ (talk) 19:17, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Haven't found anything yet. Guinness323 (talk) 19:59, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

How about Ætherverse and Masque of the Red Death (Ravenloft)? BOZ (talk) 13:12, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, nothing for Ætherverse. Guinness323 (talk) 04:02, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. Well the holiday season doesn't slow down deletions! ;) Do you see anything for Trinity Universe (setting) or Lankhmar, or for the notability tag on Ghostwalk? This is of course in addition to discussions for Kingdoms of Kalamar and Castlemourn where you were pinged. Yay! :) BOZ (talk) 16:28, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't found anything for Trinity Universe, Ghostwalk or Castlemourn, but have found several new sources for Kingdoms of Kalamar. Guinness323 (talk) 17:31, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome. :) I wouldn't be surprised if Lankhmar has more out there too, maybe quite a lot more. BOZ (talk) 18:55, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also up are Pharagos: The Battleground and Ptolus, and somehow a notability tag on Monte Cook? BOZ (talk) 16:59, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Finally one more for now, Neuroshima Hex!. BOZ (talk) 17:51, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
