RE:Turkedit

I'd like to apologize for blowing off the notice you posted about the turkedit thing. I see now that it was far more expansive than just a couple of pages. I should have paid more attention to it and at the least brought it to the attention of more experienced editors. CJ 23:22, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Well, at least that seemed to have been the end of it (as far as I know, "turkedit" hasn't edited since: [1], [2], [3], [4]). -- Gyrofrog 03:35, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Oops, never mind: At least you've narrowed it down to a particular account. I've left an additional comment at that user's talk page. -- Gyrofrog 03:48, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Adding Interview Links

Gyrofrog, thank you for your effort to maintain the Wiki site, however, the links are not an attempt to raise search rankings. our website focuses on independent musicians, so our bands rely on fans and Internet exposure. Since there are quite a few bands with Wiki entries, we wanted to make sure fans were aware of the interviews with these bands, since such interviews are quite rare. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Uncensoredinterview (talkcontribs) 21:32, 5 November 2007

Clearly you are more facile contributor on this site, however, I am an avid user of the site. If your goal is to prevent these links, then I will discontinue. Yet, I am entirely unaware of your motivation in preventing the relevant post since most entries include similar links to interviews, etc. The band themselves cannot edit the entries (again, a conflict of interest), so the progress is impeded to some extent. Regardless, I will end the posts, delete this account, and no longer contribute to Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Uncensoredinterview (talkcontribs) 21:43, 5 November 2007

Gyrofrog, I thought my comment to Uncensoredinterview was perfectly appropriate. I simply made an observation. Do you think my comment attacked his character? IMHO, he over-reacted in a big defensive way. Kmzundel 16:37, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
It may have been a bit terse, but I don't think it was uncivil. I've left another message, and I did ask about the perceived need for a second account. -- Gyrofrog 16:04, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
An excellent point that I also wondered about. Kmzundel 16:42, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
My response was to a terse comment, there was no disputing the rule of 'conflict of interest.' There is also no need for snide comments in a world wide collaborative effort. I took the 'citation' and retreated. There is no second account, you are mistaken entirely. To what are you referring? I'd be delighted that an independent voice sees merit in our content - after all, these video interviews are directly relevant to the wikiepedia entries - there was no mis-association on my part. Gyrofrog, please be certain before making such an accusation in a public forum - it is inflammatory and now has a fairly negative association with the brand of our site. I'd like for this to end - there is no saga or drama here. Uncensoredinterview 20:40, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
I just realized what was meant by a second account (I thought the accusation was that I had continued making the posts under a new name, etc.). The current account is the only registered account I have made with Wikipedia. I have never authored a Wiki entry, I see that as a fabulous endeavor, but beyond my reach. I HAVE edited and added links in the past or corrected errors in certain areas - it was not necessary to create an account as far as I can remember. I HAVE argued that Wikipedia entries are valid citations for students in school, etc. and that its content be trusted. I know I could have added the links for the interviews without creating an account, but my goal was not site promotion, it was band and content promotion - and I wanted to keep track of the contributions - so, I created a Wiki account for the first time - I dont consider it my personal account. Regardless, I've read Wikipedia:Resolving_disputes and would like to call for a truce. I would like to delete all of these references, on my talk page and elsewhere and move on - I find it negative and I do take it personally. Kmsundel, I was most taken aback by the phrase "learn to sign your name correctly" etc in your comment - I found it snide. I was already humbled by the accusation of self-promotion and I accepted it. Let's move on. I have no real argument here, it is only the discussion of the issue that gives me concern. Uncensoredinterview 21:08, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Gyrofrog

Dear Gyrofrog, thanks for stepping in and helping with the "Nur Ali Elahi" page. I have a big problem, but not sure how to reach you (hope you see this). "Globalpeace", "24.81.123.111" and "Global.wiki" keep removing any opinion I write on the discussion board or anyone else that writes what they don't like. If you look at the history you will see he deleted EVERYTHING that was on the discussion board before. I know this is against Wiki policy. How do I get them to stop. I know that you have a lot of knowledge about wiki. Thank you!!--Persianhistory2008 07:43, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Thank you gyrofrog, quick question. When I logged into my account, a red flash thing popped up and said you have a new message. How did you do that?--Persianhistory2008 16:17, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Disputes

Gyro,

I have just added a section on the Nur Ali Elahi talk page asking that the article title be reconsidered by the third opinion.

Moreover, I want to bring to your attention for the record that I have never used the Global Peace account, which appears to only have been created today. Although I have my suspicions who created this account, I will not lodge any accusations here.

Notability of Hajj Amin Elahi

A tag has been placed on Hajj Amin Elahi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JERRY talk contribs 19:55, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

I realize that you are not the original contributor for this article, but I do not know who the original author is, so I do not know who to give this notification to. Please pass along the notification as you deem appropriate. Thanks, JERRY talk contribs 19:55, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Habesha

Can you tell me why you labeled them as semitic-speaking.If they created their individual languages they should be considered semitic just much as any other semitic people. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rafikel (talkcontribs) 02:54, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Are you a real person or a computer Gyrofrog?

Because if your a real person, I find that rather sad.

How old are you, are you a nerd of some sort?

BECAUSE THATS JUST STRANGE THAT YOU EDITED IT BACK!!

I mean, I didn't delete the rest of the text. I just EXPRESSED my freedom.

Hey Gyro, I am not johnjohn and never was. Have no idea who that is, but not a sock puppet. You seam like a great guy who is also very active on wiki, so just want to let you know I have no idea who that is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Persianhistory2008 (talkcontribs)

Thank you for your response, I just looked at his history and see your point, but with that said, I have no idea who the person is. The way I found and edited the articles was by clicking on user names like yours, and one leading into another. I even almost made an edit on your Shakshouka which I find very cool! It looks like a scary looking meal, but very different.---- Persianhistory2008 (talk) 16:51, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Can you please stop the new user on the Robert Fulton page from writing obscene things and vandalizing the page. Thank you!--Persianhistory2008 (talk) 23:41, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Ahl-e Haqq

user removed sock banner

User talk:Persianhistory2008 has been archived by the user, and the suspsock banner has been removed from the page as a result. It is my understanding that these banners are only to be removed by an admin after the suspsock has been investigated. JERRY talk contribs 21:38, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Gyrofrog, are you a wiki stalker?

Gyrofrog, your 24 hour block was not fair and wiki removed it. I have made hundreds of constructive edits and am a major asset to Wiki. Darwin named the book "On The Origin of Species", read the talk page for the proof. I do not appreciate you being a wiki stalker. I am not the same person as john and have no idea who he is! This could be easily proven with an IP test. Your accusations are not appreciated. I do share the same computer with "The-Scriptorium", but we are not the same person. I have no control over this person, plus he has not written anything bad, just his opinion. The last time I checked, we did not live in a fascist country and people had the freedman to express there opinions.

I have also documented that you and “Jerry” are involved in Sock puppetry, and really enjoy stalking me on wiki. I believe you are the same person, or good friends. Your actions are very strange because instead of stalking, you can help with so many other articles. You must have a lot of extra time. But if you really enjoy being a wiki stalker, then be my guest and enjoy! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Persianhistory2008 (talkcontribs) 21:55, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

P.S. The counter-accusation of sockpuppetry/meatpuppetry was anticipated. A denial would, perhaps, be cited as further proof, so I'll simply invite other users to compare my contributions with those of other editors, and judge for themselves. -- Gyrofrog 01:07, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Oh boy. So Gyrofrog is supposed to have set up another account named Jerry_Lavoie, then renamed the account to Jerry through usurpation, made 8500+ edits under this account over 2 years, all just to pull off a really tricky sockpuppetry campaign against one user? What kind of whacked logic is that? Pure rubbish! And why would an admin need to create socks??? JERRY talk contribs 03:31, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Well, in editor in question's mind, I guess it is highly plausible. I mean, people do still believe that the moon landing was faked. This seems just as plausible. Baegis (talk) 04:49, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
There are many cases where people have multiple accounts for many years, not just for this case. Its obvious there is something going on. I can prove there is a pattern and history of being stalked by you. If you look at my history you will see hundreds of constructive edits. I don't waste my time going around on a witch hunt accusing people of silly things. What a waste of time!--Persianhistory2008 (talk) 00:10, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
RE: "I don't waste my time going around on a witch hunt accusing people of silly things": actually you apparently do. You're way off base on this sockpuppet accusation thing with gyro and me. You probably should just drop it before you further embarass yourself. JERRY talk contribs 01:03, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Dear Gyrofrog, This is a apoligetic letter to say sorry for what I said before. Please forgive me, I was being a little selfish!!

Merging page histories

Thanks for Merging the page histories. I normally would move the page and do not like to cut and paste, but it did not give me that option because of a preexisting page. So I read about the problem and one page stated that if we had no other choice, it would be okay to cut and paste. Again, I completely agree that it should be moved instead of a cut and paste, but I did not see any other options and wanted to act quick to fix the problem. Fair use rationale for Image:JillScottExperience300px.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:JillScottExperience300px.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 10:13, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
