File:Anna Roemers Visscher02.jpg[edit]

Hello! I was just reviewing File:Anna Roemers Visscher02.jpg and I wanted to follow-up with you. For the future, it's better to create a new image if you're uploading something completely different with a different licensing history, as you were in this case. Also, I visited [1] but nothing there made it clear to me that the museum's high-quality image was in the public domain. Could you please direct me to where that declaration is? Thanks, Mackensen (talk) 14:54, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi, it is the same object, just a free photo from https://www.rijksmuseum.nl/en/collection/BK-NM-8186 as i mentioned, click there on "More details". I didn't want to create many similar images as separate files, my upload was just an upgrade. Besides, there is an ongoing donation from the Rijksmuseum to wikimedia, already ~ 100.000 images transferred.
  • Could you put please the hi-res image back? Thanks a lot, kind regards, Hansmuller (talk) 10:17, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
  • The time sequence was the other way around: at the English wp i found a small image File:Anna Roemers Visscher02.jpg with the wrong "fair use" license. Next day i solved the problem on Commons by the upload. Now there is a small image with the wrong license - you checked? - at File:Anna Roemers Visscher02.jpg. No "fair use" complications needed there! Could you please redress the license and image? Thanks, Hansmuller (talk) 08:14, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Anthonie Cornelis Oudemans[edit]

No, there is still quite a lot of unreferenced material. GiantSnowman 11:06, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

@GiantSnowman Could you be more specific? Thanks, Hansmuller (talk) 11:15, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
Voila. GiantSnowman 11:24, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
@GiantSnowman Better this way? Hansmuller (talk) 11:35, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
No, it's worse - you've not actually referenced the material, you've just removed the {{cn}} tags... GiantSnowman 18:07, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
@GiantSnowman You see i added a global reference, Eindhoven, the main biographer of Oudemans, isn't that ok? Referencing once is customary in academic texts. Regards, Hansmuller (talk) 18:26, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
The very point of the {{inline}} tag is that a 'global reference' is not appropriate; we need direct in-line citations. GiantSnowman 08:55, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

Wikimedian in Residence BoF at Wikimania 2017[edit]

Hello!

My name is David Alves (User:Horadrim~usurped), and I'm an Wikipedian in Residence at RIDC NeuroMat (User:Horadrim). I've reach your contact through the Wikimedian in residence page in Outreach. As you may know, Wikimania 2017 is coming! I am here because, as a fellow WiR, I believe this would be a great opportunity for us to share experiences, discuss difficulties and exchange solutions, creating a community among us capable of supporting in other projects that would benefit from residents. In that sense, I have submitted a proposal of a Birds of a Feather activity to Wikimania that you can check out here. I hope to count with your support in this project and would like to invite you to join us if you participate in Wikimania. In case of any doubts, please feel free to contact me, either in my talk pages or by e-mail at david.alves(at)outlook.com.

Thank you very much! ‎Horadrim~usurped (talk) 00:33, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
