Administrators' newsletter – October 2024
News and updates for administrators from the past month (September 2024).

The first trial election will take place in October 2024, with candidate sign-up from October 8 to 14, a discussion phase from October 22 to 24, and SecurePoll voting from October 25 to 31. For questions or to help out, please visit the talk page at Wikipedia talk:Administrator elections.

AP doubts
Hey, I hope you’re doing well. I want to follow up on a few questions. In April 2024, you declined my Autopatrolled application (and just to clarify, I’m not asking for that now). You cited my village articles as the reason for the decline. At that time, I mentioned that villages are not usually covered by news, but they still met WP:V and notability requirements, which is why none were deleted. However, the sources were primary, and some parts were unsourced.
Fast forward to today, I no longer create village articles since your decline. What should I do with those existing articles? Could they still affect a future Autopatrolled application? If so, should I WP:G7 them? Please clarify these doubts. Thanks! GrabUp - Talk 17:53, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Schwede66: Hey, I think HickoryOughtShirt doesn’t edit Wikipedia as much as before, which might be why they’re not responding. Anyway, you were also part of the discussion, so I wanted to ask if you could help with this as well. If you can provide a guide, that would be helpful. Thanks! - I'll reply here given that this is where the conversation started. I suggest you simply ignore your previous village articles, GrabUp. When you apply again, simply state that you are no longer creating those articles based on prior feedback, and to please be assessed against the work undertaken since. That'll be the most straightforward way forward. Schwede66 08:10, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
