That's not a correction, it's an encouragement of false positives. Amalthea 09:43, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Continuous spamming of Kolkatafootball.com[edit]

I would like to draw your attention on a certain link that is spamming Wikipedia since 2007. I have seen multiple references where you removed them but it keeps coming back with certain range of IPs. For reference please check... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Spam/2007_Archive_Jul_2#Spamming_of_http:.2F.2Fspam.kolkatafootball.com

The placement of this link has not stopped even after multiple warnings. For reference please check...

2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:59.93.194.3

5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:59.93.243.205

6. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:122.163.79.233

Recently the same spam is being repeated by a new range of IP on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kolkata_derby (may be on other articles as well which I did not verify) and these IPs are...

1. 14.99.33.169

2. 14.96.106.55

Can you please block this link on Wikipedia to stop this continuous spam of a certain link from various IPs ? Thank you. --UpalC (talk) November 30, 2013 (IST) —Preceding undated comment added 15:48, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Spam#User_Upalc May shed some light on this. --Ronz (talk) 16:16, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

Linking to maps[edit]

Someone has been linking IUCN range maps to a lot of species; see these edits. These are not to a unique resource and in some cases the species have an adequate range map in the infobox. What you you think about this? Snowman (talk) 22:28, 25 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank you! A gift from fellow Wikipedians.[edit]

OER inquiry[edit]

Hi Hu12, I'm sending you this message because you're one of about 300 users who have recently edited an article in the umbrella category of open educational resources (OER) (or open education). In evaluating several projects we've been working on (e.g. the WIKISOO course and WikiProject Open), my colleague Pete Forsyth and I have wondered who chooses to edit OER-related articles and why. Regardless of whether you've taken the WIKISOO course yourself - and/or never even heard the term OER before - we'd be extremely grateful for your participation in this brief, anonymous survey before 27 April. No personal data is being collected. If you have any ideas or questions, please get in touch. My talk page awaits. Thanks for your support! - Sara FB (talk) 20:41, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:Combai dog.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Request for comment[edit]

Hello there, a proposal regarding pre-adminship review has been raised at Village pump by Anna Frodesiak. Your comments here is very much appreciated. Many thanks. Jim Carter through MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:47, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity[edit]

Information icon Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e. as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised, that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions, and that you have not been inactive for a three year period of time). If you remain inactive for a three year period of time, including the present year you have been inactive, you will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA. This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts.
