swimming good articles

Thank you for quality articles such as Open water swimming at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships – Men's 3 km knockout sprint, for good topic Swimming at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Qualification (39 articles!), for not only performing quality reviewing on a large scale but also teaching it to others, - Luke, you are an awesome Wikipedian!

History of education in Wales (1870–1939) nomination

[edit]

Hello @IAWW, you commented on my first nomination of History of education in Wales (1870–1939). I would very much appreciate if you could leave some comments on my current nomination of the article.

Thanks, Llewee (talk) 21:27, 16 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi Llewee, I really would love to, but I can't this time around as I'm so busy IRL. I just finished wrapping up most of my active GA reviews and will probably have minimal wiki activity over the next academic year. IAWW (talk) 12:21, 17 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

More on Hollywood

[edit]

Hi @It is a wonderful world:! It was great working with you on the Hollywood Walk of Fame page. If you'd like to do more on the topic of Hollywood, I just made this nomination. The Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment District page is already a GA, so if this page passes, I think I can start a good topic on the subject.

I saw in your recent comments that you are busy right now, so no worries if you are too busy for this. I just wanted to reach out. Gb321 (talk) 19:08, 25 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi Gb321, I would love to help, but yes unfortunately I just have too much on at the moment. Best of luck! I hope it goes well. IAWW (talk) 23:43, 25 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Question

[edit]

1) could I get Valentin Senn or Son of Hamas to GA? 2) How many more GAs should I do with you monitoring before I start going solo? In solidarity, Dafootballguy (Want to talk?) 01:04, 29 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I think you could definitely have a crack at writing your own! I would recommend Valentin Senn to start off with as biographies are really the easiest types of articles to write in my opinion. Regarding going solo, I think you'll want some more experience with more challenging reviews (longer, broader, lower quality or more controversial articles) before going off on your own. There's really no harm in pinging me in each review just in case you want a third opinion, even though like in the last review I'll be quite hands-off if not needed. IAWW (talk) 09:30, 29 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Can you give me some advice for getting to GA status. What should I add/improve? In solidarity, Dafootballguy (Want to talk?) 20:59, 29 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Well it needs to satisfy the GA criteria, so I'd start by making sure everything already in the article meets the GA criteria (check source-text integrity on everything!), and then research the person to see if there's any information in reliable sources that's yet to be added, which there pretty much always is, and then finish off the article by writing the lead and doing finishing touches. IAWW (talk) 08:14, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I'm also considering trying to get Bubba Thornton to GA as well. Would you mind working on Valentin Senn with me? In solidarity, Dafootballguy (Want to talk?) 19:09, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Just a note: I expanded Valentin Senn, it now had 18 citations, and every claim is sourced. In solidarity, Dafootballguy (Want to talk?) 20:56, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Nice IAWW (talk) 08:27, 1 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
I don't have time for that. Good luck working on it though! IAWW (talk) 08:26, 1 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

GA review mentorship

[edit]

Hi IAWW, thanks for volunteering to mentor! I've started with a fairly small one at Talk:Canasnack/GA1; any advice is welcome. (And sorry for what is probably a double ping.) LittlePuppers (talk) 21:51, 8 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Nice! Don't worry about the double ping – I ask people message me on my talk page because often people mess up the pings and they don't go through. Well done for structuring your review around the criteria, and you opening comments look good. I've watchlisted and will follow the review, giving comments if necessary or requested, and then at the end of the review before it concludes, I'll read through the article and let you know if there's any major things you missed :) IAWW (talk) 08:47, 9 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
