Fishing photo[edit]

Hi Jean. In the caption to the photo you added to fishing you said the fishermen were fishing for butterfly fish. Are you sure? How do you know that? My problem is that butterfly fish are marine fish, and the photo says they are fishing on a lake. --Geronimo20 (talk) 19:58, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Oh... I guess you were referring to butterfly nets. That's cool :) --Geronimo20 (talk) 00:12, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Mexican cuisine[edit]

You may want to do your homework before removing the category "Mexican cuisine" from some articles. For example, you removed it from the article on Don Chow Tacos, a Los Angeles lunch truck that sells both Chinese-Mexican fusion and traditional Mexican food. The category is entirely appropriate when applied to this article, and should not be removed. Drmargi (talk) 06:29, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

With all due respect to restaurants of Mexican food, the category for Mexican cuisine is relevant to the culinary art (i.e. dishes, ingredients, culinary customs and practices), adding a list of all Mexican restaurants (and food trucks) would create a loss of focus for this category (Restaurant and Cuisine are very different things, although they are associated, a restaurant uses cuisine, not the other way around). If anything, Don Chow Tacos should be included in a Category or List of Mexican restaurants, or restaurants based in L.A. The same counts for being in the category: Chinese Cuisine. Flags[edit]

Hello Jean.artegui. I see that you probably have an anti-Mexican sentiment and do not like to see Mexico being considered part of North America as a region, and that you prefer to link it (wrongly) with Central America [1] [2].

At the article Flags of North America, regions were used to show similarities of the flags of Central America, because all they have a common origin and that way, it is visually seen. It was agreed years ago and it is very helpful. Thanks for your understanting. AlexCovarrubias ( Talk? ) 23:37, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

Hello again. I do know that North America (in the 7 continents model) includes from Alaska to Panama, including the Caribbean. I'm well aware of that definition. But it is also true that the term North America also commonly describes a region containing the US, Mexico, Canada and sometimes Greenland. Central America, defined as a region within North America or as a subcontinent of America (in the 5 continents model) always includes Guatemala, Belice, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. The same happens with the Caribbean, it is a well-defined region.
As I described in the edit summary, we decided to group Central American flags due to vexillollogical reasons. They all have a common design, and this grouping helps the readers to clearly identify it. Also, people from Central America often find it offensive to be labeled as "North Americans", so it an easy solution to include the region Central America within the North American continent. But mainly, for vexillollogical reasons.
An alphabetical grouping is just too simple and creates an overcrowded layout. As Central America and the Caribbean are very well-defined regions, it makes sense to group them. Perhaps we could do the following, instead of having the region North America as a separate region, we could only group C. America and Caribbean. I do not think this is necessary, because like I said, North America as a region is a common term, but it could help solve your concerns. See you and thanks for being so nice. AlexCovarrubias ( Talk? ) 19:54, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
Just edited the article. I made North America the main group, with C. America and the Caribbean as sub-groups, just as in North America is the continent with those two regions within. AlexCovarrubias ( Talk? ) 19:58, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
