August 2012[edit]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for your stubborn refusal to acknowledge that participating here also entails being part of a community. Your continued attempts to make it difficult to communicate with you even after numerous users have spoken to you about it is not acceptable.. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Sockpuppetry case[edit]

Puppeter template.svg

Your name has been mentioned in connection with a sockpuppetry case. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Jeffwang for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to cases before editing the evidence page.  Ryan Vesey 02:59, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Jeff, instructions on how to appeal the block are included in the template. Please don't evade the block again. In point of fact I don't want to block you, but your recent behavior is not acceptable. The reasons why are explained in the block notice, but here are some diffs that may help jog your memory: [1][2][3][4]. Your response in each case was not to respond and/or removing the message or blanking the page. I count five admins, including myself, on those conversations questioning the way you choose to communicate here, and you ignored them all and actually made the situation worse by redirecting your talk page so that you couldn't be contacted at all. At that point it seemed to me you did not desire to be part of the community anymore. If you are going to edit, you are part of the community whether you like it or not. Page Curation update[edit]

Hey all :). We've just deployed another set of features for Page Curation. They include flyouts from the icons in Special:NewPagesFeed, showing who reviewed an article and when, a listing of this in the "info" flyout, and a general re-jigging of the info flyout - we've also fixed the weird bug with page_titles_having_underscores_instead_of_spaces in messages sent to talkpages, and introduced CSD logging! As always, these features will need some work - but any feedback would be most welcome. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 18:20, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

Adopt-a-user[edit]

Presa de decissions.png

Hi Jeffwang. I'm leaving you this message because you have previously been involved as an adopter with Wikipedia's Adopt-a-user program. A clean-up of this program is currently underway, and as part of the process I am trying to find out who is and isn't still interested in remaining an adopter.

If you would prefer not to be part of the adoption program anymore, you need do nothing; when the overhaul of the project is completed your name will be removed from the list of active adopters. However, if you have current adoptees, an active adoption school or an interest in adopting in the near future, then please let us know by signing here.

If you want to remain in the project and can currently take on more adoptees, there is a serious backlog at Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user; it would be enormously helpful if you could take on one or two of the users there. Please do keep an eye on the project for upcoming changes, we could use your opinions and your help! Yunshui  09:06, 19 September 2012 (UTC)

This is not a newsletter[edit]

This is just a tribute.

Anyway. You're getting this note because you've participated in discussion and/or asked for updates to either the Article Feedback Tool or Page Curation. This isn't about either of those things, I'm afraid ;p. We've recently started working on yet another project: Echo, a notifications system to augment the watchlist. There's not much information at the moment, because we're still working out the scope and the concepts, but if you're interested in further updates you can sign up here.

In addition, we'll be holding an office hours session at 21:00 UTC on Wednesday, 14 November in #wikimedia-office - hope to see you all there :). I appreciate it's an annoying time for non-Europeans: if you're interested in chatting about the project but can't make it, give me a shout and I can set up another session if there's enough interest in one particular timezone or a skype call if there isn't. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 11:03, 10 November 2012 (UTC)
