Capitalization[edit]

Hi Jim. Please keep an eye on your use of capital letters and only use them at the start of sentences or in names. - Mgm|(talk) 10:46, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Editing tips[edit]

Jimspon7, I've noticed some of your editing and I wanted to give you a few friendly tips on improving your editing to make pages more readable and more consistent with wikipedia guidelines. First, I'd suggest that you only wikilink words that are connected to the subject of the article, not ordinary words. For example, freight cars, pieces, and superior don't need to be linked, as the articles the links lead to don't offer greater understanding of the article you are working on. (Superior doesn't help to understand Railway engines (Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends).) You might read Wikipedia:Build the web for more suggestions on this issue. Someone has already made a suggestion about capital letters above, so I won't press the issue, but I will direct you to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (capital letters) if you want to learn more about it. Finally, Wikipedia:Introduction 2 is helpful for learning how to edit in wikipedia. Feel free to ask me a question here or on my talk page if you need more help or info. Cheers and happy editing! --Kchase02 T 08:27, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

International Youth Day[edit]

Please stop changing the date on the International Youth Day article. According to the article's source link, a link to information on the UN website regarding the day, it is August 12th. If you continue to change the day without providing proof that it is different, it will be considered vandalism. --AbsolutDan (talk) 17:10, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure no problem at all, just a misunderstanding! If your calendar says it's the 9th, perhaps this is a different holiday than the one the United Nations started. Do you have any info on it? If so perhaps you could add it to the article under a section titled "additional youth day celebrations" (or similar). Let me know if you need any help doing so --AbsolutDan (talk) 01:03, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome - if you need any Wikipedia help just let me know! --AbsolutDan (talk) 02:10, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again Jim. I response to your latest message on my talk page, I have been editing Wikipedia for 4 months now. I'm from the US, but beyond that we shouldn't be giving out personal details, as Wikipedia is public and open, and anything posted here shows up on Google fairly quickly. I hope you don't mind, but I removed some of the personal details you left on my talk page for this reason.
Welcome again to Wikipedia. I hope you decide to remain and make further contributions to the encyclopedia. Take care --AbsolutDan (talk) 14:40, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I'm here. Did you have a Wikipedia question? --AbsolutDan (talk) 23:58, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Who edited Randolph School?[edit]

You can see who edited an article by clicking on the blue "history" link at the top of the page when you're in the article. I noticed you had added some information to a new article with a misspelled title ("schoool") so I added the information into the correct spelling, then changed the misspelled article to redirect to the correct one. License tagging for Image:2007705144.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:2007705144.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:02, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:2007705144.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:2007705144.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Rebelguys2 talk 06:49, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
