The Peer review discussion has been archived. What next? How do we go for FAC? Please take another look for syntax, semantics etc. So Shall I.Dineshkannambadi 21:07, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi KNM, I had started a Karnataka Portal some time back. It has been lying under construction for some time now. I made some changes today also. But it still needs some work. Would you be able to chip in when you find time? Thanks. Sarvagnya 07:21, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Actually, the user Adnandx is correct in making some of the changes. Bangladesh does not have a prime minister at this moment. When the previous govt's term ended, the power was handed over to a Caretaker government, consisting of a chief advisor, and a group of advisors. This year, the president has taken over the dual role of President and Chief Advisor. There is no prime minister or any other such posts now, until the next election is held and a new govt is formed (sometime in January, 2007 or so).

Thanks. --Ragib 18:46, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

infobox

Hi. Can you create one nice box for Western and Eastern Chalukyas as well when you have time.Dineshkannambadi 16:29, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Comment, KNM, from Parthi's comment, can you change the Infobox to just Chalukya dynasty and let everything else remain as is. Should we call it Chalukya Vamsha in Kannada and Chalukya dynasty in English then?Dineshkannambadi 02:37, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi KNM, I am very thankful to you for supporting and comments on my succesful RfA. Shyam (T/C) 06:45, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

KNM, when you have time please add the Kannada text to the info box I created. It still says Chalukya Vamsha because I copied it from Badami Chalukya page.Dineshkannambadi 02:01, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Bengavaluru

Hi there, I've added the appropriate citation. The referenced article had previously been cited in another section; however no explicit reference to Bengavaluru had been previously made. Thanks AreJay 02:59, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Hoysala

KNM, I have written down the list of TBD for this page before peer review in the discussion page for Hoysala. Please take a look.Dineshkannambadi 15:43, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Hoysala kings

KNM, Some of the Hoysala kings in the info box dont have dates and my soruces dont give them dates because of insufficient inscriptional evidence. Do we need to keep them in the box or remove them? They are mentioned in the prose section anyway. Also, not much is said about the Hoysala branch in TN (Ramanatha/Vishwanatha) so I did not create any pages for them, but are mentioned in the "consolidation" section though. Maybe we dont need them either because they again merged with the main empire without many events there and basically remained in control of Halebidu all the time. Can we compress the box, it looks a bit long now.?Dineshkannambadi 20:11, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Also, I had added other capitals in Kannanur Kuppam and Tiruvannamalli (were temporary ones for strategic purposes to control Pandya, Cholas and fight the sultan of Madurai). Maybe we dont need to mention them as they were not really regal capitals. Ballala III stationed himself in Tiruvannamali for some years and fought from there after Halebidu was sacked in early 14th century. Mentioning too many secondary capitals is confusing. What do you think? Vijayanagara is important as it provides continuity to the next empire. Also, Sosevur the earliest capital was when they were a tiny feudatory and most of the world has not heard of it anyway. What do you think?Dineshkannambadi 20:19, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

KNM, the article has been accepted as a FA. I would like to thank you for your efforts in making this happen as a team.Dineshkannambadi 16:05, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Oh, I see; you're trying to make a "Today's featured article" request. The correct place for this would be at the top of Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests, and not in a new article. Please place the content of Chalukya dynasty/MainPage Request at the top of that page and place a db-author tag on the original. Thanks! --Maxamegalon2000 17:47, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Super, but in the future it would probably be best to make such a page in your namespace, at User:KNM/Chalukya Dynasty Main Page Request, for instance. Right now you've made an actual article in the encyclopedia. --Maxamegalon2000 18:23, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

BangaloreBuzz revert

Hello, KNM -- if I understand the history page correctly, you removed the link I added to the Bangalore page to a blog called BangaloreBuzz. I don't really understand why, but since I am not a heavy Wikipedia user I might have done something wrong, so please enlighten me. Personally I find that particular blog a great aid to following news in Bangalore, and I just wanted to share it with others who were looking for information about the city. Thanks. Scripts issue

Hi KNM, I'm in favour of getting rid of ALL non-roman scripts from the pages. This is afterall an English language encyclopedia. I really don't see a point in them. IMO most people pushing for the inclusion of these scripts only want these to advertise the ethnicity of the subject. Cheers - Parthi talk/contribs 04:28, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

I may have misinterpretted Utcursch's point. What is the special case with Satyameva Jayate? I may have been wrong in interpretting his proposal as allowing native scripts for non-English subject matters like those I mentioned. - Parthi talk/contribs 04:46, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

KNM

Hello KNM. I think that your DYK nom is good, but it needs to be in prose form to get a run on the main page.

Also, I am hoping to get an improvement drive on Ganguly, Dravid, Tendulkar in the near future - It will be hard like Ian Thorpe, which has only just passed, but I am confident that with the help of ALoan and Nichalp (who focuses on Indian FAs), both of whom have 10+ FAs and are good with getting the prose smoothened up ( the hardest part) and are active in cricket, we can get the job done. Thanks, Blnguyen (bananabucket) 01:25, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Proposed deletion Vamshi

Citations

hello plz stop reverting. Mr.Kannambadi has the book which i have quoted. I have also sent the citations to Mr.Nichalp. Everything is cited and ur friend wants to plead ignorance and remove cited info. Plz dont do it. Sarvabhaum 14:10, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

I am following the discussion happening in Nichalp's talk page. As per Dinesh, the information you have added contains POV and not just the cited info from the book. We will need to wait and see who is correct. So lets stop reverting the concerned articles, till the verification and validations over the citations are over. Thanks. - KNM Talk 14:32, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Welcome back

Great to have you back! Not sure if you are still interested in cricket bios, but I am currently trying to work Harbhajan Singh up for an FA. It also has a free picture, so it can be put on the main page of Wikipedia during the World Cup if we get it done on time. Thanks, Blnguyen (bananabucket) 02:24, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

RE: Vatteluttu

Hello,

Thank you for the spell check for Kannada on the Vatteluttu page. It is much appreciated. By the way, I have recently formed the Wikipedia:WikiProject Dravidian civilizations and would like to know if you would be interested in joining our group and participating in contributing to any Dravidian topic of your choice. Our project will be focussed on everything that has to do with the Dravidian civilizations of the Kannadigas, Tamils, Telugus, Malayalees, and other groups. It will also cover Dravidian civilizations outside of India like the Brahuis of Pakistan, and the Malto of Bangladesh. Furthermore, WikiPoject Dravidian civilizations will cover a wide array of Dravidian topics from arts, language, ethnicities, religion, history, and much more. If you are interested, please link to Wikipedia:WikiProject Dravidian civilizations and add your name in the Members section. Thank you again for your contribution to the Vatteluttu page. Regards.

Unfortunately, the two books I have on Kadambas, Kamath and G.Moraes are about the best books one can find on the Kadambas. Perhaps because the first Banavasi kingdom of Kadambas was so long ago and the later Kadambas of Hangal, Goa, Bailnadu, Belur etc were feudatory chiefdoms of larger Kannada empires, there are not too many writers. Fortunately, my book by Moraes gives a good account (250 pages) of the Banavasi,Hangal and Goa Kadambas. Eventually I plan to build full scale articles for all three like Chalukyas. I also have to somehow visit Banavasi, Halasi, Talagunda, Degamve for photographs of temples inscriptions etc. Last year I was in Jog falls, 30kms from Banavasi but could not go because of a full schedule.Dineshkannambadi 02:44, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
