SECHSKIES members' official English names are Lee Jaijin (not Jai-jin), Jang Suwon (not Su-won), and Eun Jiwon (not Ji-won)[edit]

Hi. Lee Jaijin's official English name is JAIJIN not Jai-jin or Jaejin. Also, Eun Jiwon's official English name is Jiwon not Ji-won, and Jang Suwon's official English name is Suwon (not Su-won). Please see YG's official facebook for SECHSKIES. ( https://www.facebook.com/OfficialSECHSKIES)

But you have moved these pages without providing any accurate information. As a Wikipedian, you should provide an accurate source, when you make changes to "living persons' documents".

In case of Jaijin, fans have inquired YG and they confirmed that Lee Jaijin is his official ENG name via email. JAIJIN chose this as his official name. Please respect the choice of the artists, and use their correct Official English names.

Thanks in advance! Yelkie (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 08:43, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

@Yelkie: See Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Korean)#Given name... Thanks. -- Kanghuitari (talk) 08:46, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

It says "If there is no personal preference, and no established English spelling, hyphenate the syllables, with only the first syllable capitalized (e.g., Hong Gil-dong)."

In SECHSKIES members' cases, they have their official English spellings as written out by their agency, YG entertainment, so please do respect their official names.

People can make their own choices in how to spell their names. You should respect that. Especially, if they are celebrities, official names are really important. Please respect their official names. Thanks!Yelkie (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 08:55, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

Korean films by admission[edit]

I separated domestic vs. international for a reason; if you really want to have an overall one, please find the proper information for it (for example, Interstellar is missing). Moreover, the data is significantly harder to find vs. domestic films.

Hello, Kanghuitari. You did WP:Copy and paste move Songsan Station (disambiguation). I reverted it. Template:WikiProject North Korea[edit]

Do we need this? So far we have fared fine with Template:WikiProject Korea|nk=yes. The new one also adds categories of its own (eg. North Korea-related articles by importance) that are incompatible with the old ones. We should discuss new talk page project templates at the working group talk page before implementing them to identify such problems. Finnusertop (talk | guestbook | contribs) 02:49, 4 April 2015 (UTC)

well, see Category:WikiProject Korea North Korea working group. The article number amounted to 2,000. North Korea is one of the countries, and it is a need to separate. Kanghuitari (talk) 00:39, 6 April 2015 (UTC)
Good point, but I still feel like a decision like this should be based on a broader consensus. It has already caused some confusion here. Finnusertop (talk | guestbook | contribs) 13:18, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

Yook Sungjae[edit]

I suggest that you make a draft User talk:Kanghuitari/Yook Sungjae with the added sources first instead of editwarring. You claimed that his film and TV career added extra notability but those parts (the lists) are completely unsourced. Then show the sources in a draft before putting it in the article. The Banner talk 08:10, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

I added about 10 source that article include [3] [4] [5]. Their source said "He (Syncopation) male lead.. " why deny 10 source? Kanghuitari (talk) 08:17, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
Fine, if you want to play it that way. Tonight (it is now morning here) I will remove everything that is unsourced. Goodbye. The Banner talk 08:25, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
See Wikipedia:Deletion_review#Yook_Sungjae. Administrator said "allow recreation if sources are found and added to the article". so, I added source. why deny all everything? Kanghuitari (talk) 08:40, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
Read better. He said (...) no prejudice against recreation if properly sourced. The point is properly in combination with WP:RS. The Banner talk 08:55, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, that source is properly sourced. Kanghuitari (talk) 00:04, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

Naming convention (people)[edit]

Hi! Thanks for making many new Korea related articles. When disambiguating a title (e.g. Kim So-hyun (actress born 1975) ) warrants both a qualified ("actor") and year of birth ("born 1975"), a comma should be placed in-between: Kim So-hyun (actress, born 1975). Please review the appropriate guideline below:

[[Name (qualifier, born YYYY)]]. Note a comma should be used and born should not be abbreviated to "b.", so: David Baker (poker player, born 1972) and David Baker (poker player, born 1986).

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

Kim Beom-soo[edit]

Why did you move Kim Beom-soo to Kim Bum-soo, when they are obviously NOT the "same people" as your edit summary states? Edwardx (talk) 09:26, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

See Beom-soo, Kim Bum-soo (disambiguation), ko:김범수. Beom and Bum are the same Korean name. (same Korean language, "범") If you find singer (Kim Bum-soo) in Google, you can see also "Kim Beom-soo" too. Kanghuitari (talk) 02:24, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
Your move meant that all the content at what is now Kim Beom-soo (businessman) was deleted. I don't know how can you can defend that. Edwardx (talk) 09:11, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Seoul Station[edit]

This is not Korean Wikipedia. You need to discuss if you want to divide Seoul Station. Of course, some of western stations (such as Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof and Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof underground) are separated, but in those cases, articles are quite long, or notable by their separated histories. In this case, Korean Wikipedians regard Seoul station as two separated stations, but usual people regard both as same station. So we need to discuss about it. --125.130.41.77 (talk) 06:22, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Bradley Cooper at Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) Wikipedia[edit]

Good day:

Just curious: (1) Are you planning to add something more to this article (lad:Bradley Cooper)? Obviously, Bradley Cooper is a notable, etc., actor, and an article on him is legitimate to create. But as you left it, there is nothing in that particular article claiming, proving, etc., notability, and on most Wikipedias, that would be grounds to delete the article, too. I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt on this. I'd also like to encourage you to develop it out at least into a real stub article, as opposed to a one-sentence nothing of an article. (I've got a lot of one-sentence articles there, and am trying to figure out what to do about it.)

(2) Do you speak Judeo-Spanish, or did you simply write this by modifying something else? If the former, our project could really use more regular contributors, and we'd welcome you to be one of them.

Stations[edit]

The reason I have suggested mergers for numerous pages about stations you have created is because the pages themselves currently provide no info aside from the fact that they are stations. That can be covered in the page about the lines to which the belong. Insignificant stations do not need a page of their own. Please do not delete such merger suggestions, instead voice your disagreement on the talk page discussing such mergers if you feel the need to.SecretName101 (talk) 07:32, 26 August 2015 (UTC) SecretName101 (talk) 07:32, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

Non-Summit adding Thailand and Mexico?[edit]

Hi J! I have a question for you....can you look at the last addition I made to Non-Summit about possible new members from Thailand and Mexico. Please see if I understood what the newspaper said PD Kim Hee-Jung is saying will happen! Thanks so much - I don't want to say the wrong thing! I think they will be one-day members on the show, like the Visiting Interns before?--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 18:18, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

Like a Lists of Running Man missions? Kanghuitari (talk) 04:18, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, that's what I was thinking...but this page is not so popular to split up too many times like Running Man. The List of Where Is My Friend's Home episodes is not getting many views. Anyway, I measured the width of the page, and it will take 12 - 13 more "trip" countries. We don't have to worry till the end of next year! hahaha! Let's just keep it whole, it looks good that way! Proposed deletion of Sa Sa International Holdings[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Sa Sa International Holdings has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. PamD 19:12, 28 September 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:The Admiral Roaring Currents.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:The Admiral Roaring Currents.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages[edit]

Thank you for your recent articles, including Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption, Paris, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts, Popular Pages, Quality and Importance Matrix and the Cleanup Listing. Thanks to them, WikiProject members are more easily able to defend your work from deletion, or simply help try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information about using those talk page templates. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 18:58, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

Template:Produce 101[edit]

I was thinking maybe it would be better to set it up much like how Template:VIXX is? Although VIXX's is more in-depth comparatively I.O.I is now less about Produce 101.

Maybe something like the following?

Initial visibility

To set the template's initial visibility, the |state= parameter may be used:

  • |state=collapsed: {{Kanghuitari|state=collapsed}} to show the template collapsed, i.e., hidden apart from its title bar
  • |state=expanded: {{Kanghuitari|state=expanded}} to show the template expanded, i.e., fully visible
  • |state=autocollapse: {{Kanghuitari|state=autocollapse}}
    • shows the template collapsed to the title bar if there is a {{navbar}}, a {{sidebar}}, or some other table on the page with the collapsible attribute
    • shows the template in its expanded state if there are no other collapsible items on the page

If the |state= parameter is not set, the template's initial visibility is taken from the |default= parameter in the template. For this template, that currently evaluates to autocollapse.

Alicia leo86 (talk) 06:19, 4 April 2016 (UTC)

I was thinking maybe it would be better separate templates, like Template:I.O.I and Template:Produce 101. Because An Ye-seul and Chu Ye-jin are not became a member of I.O.I.. and also Produce 101 is a TV series, so we need a template as a "TV series". I think it be better following:

-- Kanghuitari (talk) 06:57, 4 April 2016 (UTC)

Maybe but I'm not entirely sure that these articles even need navigational templates in the first place? For example.. all those members names shouldn't be there because they don't have articles of their own. It's probably best to have just one between them not two. Need assistance for page move please[edit]

Hi J, the page which we agreed to name DEAN has been moved by an Administrator to Dean (South Korean singer). He did not notify me or talk to me about the move. He said we can't use DEAN because of the capital letters per: MOS:ALLCAPS. (That was my mistake, sorry!)

I think Dean (singer-songwriter), like this [12] or this one [13] is better - as Dean performs with American artists and South Korean artists. The Dean (singer) redirects to the page here: [14] and is not good to use.

Can you change it to Dean (singer-songwriter), please - because I don't know how? I will let the administrator know we made the change, later, as they have not talked to me. Thanks again, B --Bonnielou2013 (talk) 06:29, 2 May 2016 (UTC) xoxoxo--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 07:14, 2 May 2016 (UTC)

Doctors (2000 TV series)[edit]

Hi, I have noted that you have moved the above article from Doctors (TV series) to Doctors (2000 TV series). This has previously been discussed on the talk page and concluded that Doctors (TV series) was the best option, as there are no other TV series called Doctors. As I haven't seen any new discussion on this, could you kindly clarify why you moved it? Thanks. Adamiow (talk) 14:45, 14 May 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of With God (2017 film)[edit]

A tag has been placed on With God (2017 film) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.

Stefan2 (talk) 12:42, 16 June 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Clare Foley[edit]

Hello, Kanghuitari. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Clare Foley, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Clare Foley to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Page that needs your monitoring[edit]

Hi there. As you can see, I'm not active in Wikipedia editing anymore, but there's this page I would like you to put on your watchlist, as you're the only one I could remember who frequently edits Korean entertainment pages... There are some fans who're not happy with her, and hence the vandalisms. If you wanna know more, this article will help you. Good thing is that it's now protected until July 22, but I don't know what would happen after the protection expires. Regards. Edward (tc) 17:08, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

Hallo, Please remember that if you create an article like Becker's (restaurant) you need to add a link from Becker's - in this case a hatnote, which I've done, but in other cases an entry on a disambiguation page. Whereas in Category:British Academy Television Awards, we see British Academy Television Award for Best Actor. If "Television" is not specifically specified, most readers will assume that Film is intended.

New Page Reviewer granted[edit]

Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg

Hello Kanghuitari. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria.

  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator.

Administrator note: You have been grandfathered to this group based on prior patrolling activity - the technical flag for the group will be added to your account after the next software update. You do not need to apply at WP:PERM. 20:56, 28 October 2016 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter[edit]

Hello Kanghuitari,
Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg
Breaking the back of the backlog
We now have 465 New Page Reviewers! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog. Now it's time for action.
Mid July to 01 Oct 2016

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.

Second set of eyes

Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.

Getting the tools we need - 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey: Please vote

With some tweaks to their look, and some additional features, Page Curation and New Pages Feed could easily be the best tools for patrollers and reviewers. We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. New Page Review - newsletter No.2[edit]

Hello Kanghuitari,
Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg
A HUGE backlog

We now have 465 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.

Hitting 17,000 soon

The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.

Second set of eyes

Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.

Abuse

This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and

  1. this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
  2. this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
  3. This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

Coordinator election[edit]

Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

Speedy deletion nomination of The Sports Chosun[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Sports Chosun requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. New Page Review-Patrolling: Coordinator elections[edit]

Your last chance to nominate yourself or any New Page Reviewer, See Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Coordination. Elections begin Monday 20 February 23:59 UTC. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 08:17, 19 February 2017 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Alexander Flores (actor)[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Alexander Flores (actor) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Effectively unsourced article demonstrates no notability of BLP subject. Almost certain WP:NACTOR fail – only role of any note if The Maze Runner films, but subject is well down the cast list so does not appear to be a "significant" role. Also, press coverage of subject is sparse so WP:GNG fail as well. Likely WP:TOOSOON (at best).

--IJBall (contribstalk) 23:23, 20 February 2017 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter No.3[edit]

Hello Kanghuitari,
Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg

Voting for coordinators has now begun HERE and will continue through/to 23:59 UTC Monday 06 March. Please be sure to vote. Any registered, confirmed editor can vote. Nominations are now closed.

Still a MASSIVE backlog

We now have 465 New Page Reviewers but despite numerous appeals for help, the backlog has NOT been significantly reduced.
If you asked for the New Page Reviewer right, please consider investing a bit of time - every little helps preventing spam and trash entering the mainspace and Google when the 'NO_INDEX' tags expire.

New Page Review - Newsletter No.4[edit]

Hello Kanghuitari,
Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg

Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 465 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!

But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

Stay up to date with recent new page developments and have your say, read THIS PAGE.

Clean-up[edit]

Hello! I hope you can join in cleaning-up K-drama pages with international broadcast sections as they are in violation of Wiki guidelines (Wiki is not a catalog/ TV guide). It's also a breeding ground for promotion from streaming sites, legal or not.

I mean, just look at this: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Moon_Lovers:_Scarlet_Heart_Ryeo&diff=783257456&oldid=783251917 If that's not what a laundry list (which Wiki vehemently opposes) looks like, I don't know what is. Thanks! Chiefyuks (talk) 03:10, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Newsletter[edit]

Hello Kanghuitari, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!
Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 18,511 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a a day.
  • Some editors are committing to work specifically on patrolling new pages on 15 July. If you have not reviewed new pages in a while, this might be a good time to be involved. Please remember that quality of patrolling is more important than quantity, that the speedy deletion criteria should be followed strictly, and that ovetagging for minor issues should be avoided.

Technology update:

  • Several requests have been put into Phabractor to increase usability of the New Pages Feed and the Page Curation toolbar. For more details or to suggest improvements go to Wikipedia:Page Curation/Suggested improvements
  • The tutorial has been updated to include links to the following useful userscripts. If you were not aware of them, they could be useful in your efforts reviewing new pages:
