Fair use rationale for Image:Logo NANKANG.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Logo NANKANG.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Honda ecu codes

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Honda ecu codes, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Honda ecu codes. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Check engine.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Check engine.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Batteryuniversity

[edit]

I regret that I have had to remove some material that you recently added to Lithium-ion battery. In view of the value of the remainder of your contribution, I have no doubt that you aded this material in good faith. The problem was the source that you used, batteryuniversity. Unfortunately, this source does not meet Wikipedia's criteria as a reliable source. This is because the site is a self published source produced by an individual without the backing of a credible organisation. The main problem with self published sources, is that anybody (including you or I) can produce a credible looking website to support any viewpoint that we wanted to push. There is no such organisation as 'batteryuniversity' (and why would there be). The website is published by one Isidor Buchmann for the purpose of pushing his book on lithium-ion technology. Both his book and the website have been discredited. The site does appears to have corporate sponsorship from Cadex International the main problem being that the Cadex International is a relatively small company run by Isidor Buchmann himself.

Historically, the battery manufacturers were reticent to publish much information on their batteries, which allowed charlatons like Buchmann to spring up and set themselves up as knowledgeable 'experts'. The problem is that Buchmann trawled nearly all of his battery characteristics from internet forums and chat rooms - not noted for the reliability of their 'facts'. If the characteristics of li-ion batteries were as Buchmann claims in both his book and website, no battery could ever have a life exceeding two years. Real world batteries just do not behave as Buchmann claims that they do. Even I have many batteries much older than this which still function more or less as they did when new. The main damage that he has caused is that many more authoritative sources have quoted information from batteryuniversity or the book believing it to be true (in the absence of information to the contrary, why wouldn't they?). Thus much misinformation seems to have multiple sources.

It is mentioned on this articles talk page. There is also a discussion on this at Lithium polymer batteries#Self published sources but the best discussion is the archived discussion from the talk page here. I B Wright (talk) 17:24, 16 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Traffic message channel may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
