The grave of Lady Canning[edit]

Hello! It is nice to know you liked the photograph of the tomb. It is very much possible to visit the grave. Barrackpore is about 25 km (16 mi) north to the city of Kolkata (Calcutta). And the grave is located inside the campus of Police training College in Barrackpre (this is the college where all police recruits are trained in West Bengal). I visited the place in 2005.

I think there should bot be any kind of opposition if somebody goes there with good will to restore it. However, permission from proper authority will be needed. That authority may be Government of west bengal, or may be the Police Training College administration. I do not know. It would be absolutely welcome for a fan of Lady Canning restoring her grave.

I am not located in Calcutta at present. So it will not be possible for me to help you directing. You can contact the Government of West bengal and express your wish. I wish you success.
