Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Northern League (New Zealand), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Eastern Suburbs. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

WaiBOP Premiership moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, WaiBOP Premiership, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Wellington Phoenix Reserves and Championship phase

[edit]

Hey Kezyfooty, just got a question if you have a source for the comment "Wellington Phoenix Reserves gain automatic entry into the National League Championship phase due to the A-League Men requirements." in the 2022 New Zealand National League article. All I know at this stage is that the team replaced Lower Hutt, I hadn't seen or heard anything about them still being a confirmed spot for the Championship phase?— NZFC(talk)(cont) 05:50, 24 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Funny enough after asking you the above, I see on NZF website they have announced the qualifying spots and confirmed Wellington Phoenix have automatic entry still. Have updated the article to reflect this now as Central actually gets 3 plus the Nix and Southern only gets 2.— NZFC(talk)(cont) 07:08, 24 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
NZFC I was going off the regulations article they posted at the start of last season stating that "The Wellington Phoenix FC will be granted an automatic spot in the championship phase to support the youth development of the professional club and fulfil their A-League licence obligations." but I am glad to see they have now confirmed it for this season. Hi Kezyfooty - I'm a little confused as to this, given that West Hamilton are noted in the same article as still having to play their Preliminary Round match against Whakatane Town. If Whakatane win, surely West Hamilton won't be hosting anyone! Grutness...wha? 12:33, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Grutness:, I'm not 100% sure on it either. When NZF did the draw they pulled out West Hamilton and not alongside Whakatane. The Round 1 match also has a KO time and location (West Hamilton's ground). It looks like West Hamilton vs Whakatane should be put as a w/o, but I'm still unsure of what is happening. Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay

[edit]
Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kezyfooty, new to the wiki scene and gotta few questions.

  • Why does Auckland City have a "2024 Auckland City FC season", and not all the other clubs.
  • I have drafted up a similar version to 2024 NRFL Leagues for Mainland, but the question is could I include English Cup and Reta Fitzpatrick Cup both local cups to Christchurch to it?
    • Got both Men's and Women's Southern League, Premiership and Championship and also the local shields (Hurley(Mens) and Hewkey(Womens).
      • Or would separating to 2024 MF Men's League, 2024 MF Women's League, 2024 MF Cups? and is that important enough to have its own pages/articles?

Would like to say Thank you for contributions to both Mens and Womens National Leagues and As you could possible guess where I am with what I'm doing. I'm perfectly fine doing the Southern League and South Island League, if your okay with that. And if I do do something that you wouldn't agree with, you know should know how to talk with me, as well I kind don't. - StolenThought (talk) 09:08, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @StolenThought,
The reason I've started working on the Auckland City season is because I believe there is enough notability and they are competing in the OFC Champions League with a good chance of playing at the new FIFA club competition, whereas not many other clubs will have the required notability.
Creating one for mainland is cool. You can include the English Cup and Reta Fitzpatrick Cup as they do with the NPL Leagues in Australia (example). The leagues would probably need to be included in one page to meet notability standards.
If you're more focused on the Southern part of the National League that works well because I don't know that area that well.
Thanks Kezyfooty (talk) 12:23, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Kezyfooty,
Understood, was just asking as you had put down 2024 Wellington Olympic AFC season and 2024 Christchurch United FC season in Template:2024 in New Zealand football.
Have put down what I've done on the mainland leagues (Just waiting for more conformation) here, and realized that also the Nelson Premierships should be added due to FC Nelson last season competing for promoting to Southern League. Also found out that the Canterbury Women's leagues require qualifications, requiring two more tables 'n stuff. Reason why I asked if they could be split is due to the size/length of them, if it is/isn't a problem that's fine, and removed the scoring for making too long (could add them back as well). All good with the cups as they don't start till generally ANZAC day.
Another question, saw that in the 2023 Championship, you added discipline to the league stats. Just wondering if that could be added to the regional leagues. Asking for consistency/common grounds in the leagues, aswell as if they should also have positions by round which the Central Leagues has.
All goods doing Southern Leagues, and the same I don't know the Central and Northern areas well. - StolenThought (talk) 03:00, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @StolenThought, I just put Wellington and Christchurch down as they would be next most likely to have enough notability as last seasons league and cup winners.
Had a look and there's a lot of information. As long the article meets WP:FOOTYN and WP:NSPORT then that's the main thing.
You could add the discipline if you wanted to, just takes time hence why it hasn't been added before now. - Kezyfooty (talk) 13:00, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Kezyfooty, been a while and I've been busy, I didn't know whether to create a new topic or add it here.
For the last while, I have been drafting up a New Zealand National League records and statistics as well as a Southern League (New Zealand) records and statistics almost just like A-League Men records and statistics and Premier League records and statistics to expand on the New Zealand National League#Records/Southern League (New Zealand)#Records as some of the records that would be nice to show, i.e. Most Appearances/Goals/Clean Sheets - Most Consecutive Defeats - List of Own Goals/Hattricks (Garbs favourite), would just be better to add its own page. Will also do the Central and Northern bit later on form 2021 season.
I have also been creating 2024 Southern Football League for Southern Football and man, this one team has conceded over 200 goals and only scored 2 in 21 games (most games they lost by more than 12 goals). Seems they have hidden the women's league but I have a some MatchCenters which I should be able to get the rest of the matches.
I have also also been creating a Cashmere Technical FC Womens, Coastal Spirit FC Womens and Dunedin City Royals FC Womens as they are the biggest club down here that offer women's teams, and when the National League gets fully club based in 2026, they will be the once competing for the spots (unless something happens). Been also drafting up some clubs aren't added, like Oxford FC and Rangers AFC (Blenheim) who are climbing the rankings.
In 2024 in association football#OFC 7, should it include all the rest of the missing leagues, 20 leagues or go to tier 4 which is 8 leagues. Assuming we are also going to be adding in 2024 New Zealand Youth National League with the three regions and 2024 New Zealand Women's Youth National League.
- StolenThought (talk) 23:15, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey StolenThought, looks like you have been very busy! I think the records and statistics pages will be a great addition (just need to find sources which is my only concern, but I think it should be doable!) And good to add those missing clubs. Eventually it would be good to have all the clubs listed on List of association football clubs in New Zealand with their own page (or at least the ones that compete in the Chatham/Kate Sheppard Cups).
In terms of the 2024 in association football page, I was only adding the leagues that had club first teams (or mostly made up of first teams), otherwise it becomes quite full and maybe unnecessary for some of the leagues. I believe the Men's Youth League is already listed on that page but would be good to add the Women's onto it too (would only add the Championship phase though). Let me know if you need any help with anything.
Cheers, Kezyfooty (talk) 04:05, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Kezyfooty, yeah I have been.
The New Zealand National League records and statistics page is currently here, with there being my thoughts/reasonings why thing are that way and a todo at the top to know what I need to add in. Once we get this one done, we will mostly use that format for the regional leagues.
Sound good, would be good to have all the clubs listed there. In Template:Association football in New Zealand at the footer, there is Men's clubs that links to the list, while the Women's clubs lists to the Women's National League. Could there be a section in List of association football clubs in New Zealand almost like New Zealand football league system or a new page.
Understood, I was just looking at that the header was called 'Tier II to Tier V domestic leagues' and thought "Why isn't our tier 5 leagues added". The only one in tier 4 that has not got no first team is the Canterbury Championship, made up of reserve team, mostly Southern League u20 sides (u20 not u23 because it is Mainland Football being Mainland Football). But next year should have two first team side is, Oxford and Parklands United.
For the '(would only add the Championship phase though)', you are meaning adding it to 2024 in association football and not the 2024 youth national leagues pages?
Cheers for offering to help out, - StolenThought (talk) 02:35, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
StolenThought yeah that all sounds good. And great progress made already! And yes, I meant adding it to 2024 in association football. - Kezyfooty (talk) 14:49, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 15:56, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Northern Region Football logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Jonteemil (talk) 18:00, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article 2023 OFC U-17 Championship squads has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No squad list (of children) needed per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2024 OFC U-16 Men's Championship squads.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2024 Chatham Cup final, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Oliver Davies.
