Importing previously published text onto Wikipedia[edit]

Hello. The question about the origin of content which you placed in the article Seychelles, here, has been raised at the Copyright Problems board talk page. I have verified that they had the content first; this is an archive of their page as it appeared two years ago.

It is perfectly fine to import verbatim content that you take from public domain websites and publications (although you may have to demonstrate how you know they are public domain, if it is not obvious), but to meet Wikipedia's approach to avoiding plagiarism (Wikipedia:Plagiarism), you must cite your source and acknowledge that content is copied. If the content is compatibly licensed, it may even be legally required that you do so, as many licenses (including ours) require that you attribute your source. If we can't verify that content is public domain or compatibly licensed, we do have to take the information we find in sources and write it completely in our own words.

I have added the necessary attribution at Seychelles to show that the content is taken and from what public domain source. If you have copied content from other sources, please make sure that content is properly sourced and attributed. Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:10, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi there! Thanks for the information. I had copied and pasted that information directly from the Geography of Seychelles#Climate page. Being that it was on Wikipedia already I figured I wasn't plagiarizing anything. They guy who originally put that in there might be the guy you want to notify. But I will certainly keep your information in mind and make sure I properly attributed future edits! Thanks Killian441 (talk) 21:59, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

List of Old West gunfighters[edit]

Thanks for the attention you gave to the List of Old West gunfighters. I appreciate the assistance! I'm left a little uncomfortable lumping "outlaws" in with the "gunfighters" but there was too much overlap. I am very tempted to move the article to "List of Old West gunfighters and outlaws". wdyt? — btphelps (talk) (contribs) 16:12, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Template:Rail color box[edit]

I have made your change, but left the sandbox in case there are any problems and you need to work there. Tag it {{db-g7}} when you're sure you've done with it. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 14:32, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

Your Constitution Party edits[edit]

With all due respect, the edits you made here were unnecessary and unhelpful. As I said on the talk page, there is much precedence for articles about state chapters of American political parties.

An Apology[edit]

Upon further review, I apologize if I posted too flippantly. I was not aware of the fact that the original here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=American_Constitution_Party&oldid=525394400 was basically the same page as the one I created. SteelMarinerTalk 01:20, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. November 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Pongamia oil may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • |pages=119-122 }} Production of Biodiesel From Non Edible Plant Oils Having High FFA Content]</ref> The following table shows the physical properties of the methyl esters of Pongamia oil
