Barnstar of High Culture.png The Barnstar of High Culture
For your appreciated contributions to History of the Spanish language, which you have rewritten almost completely, I award you this Barnstar of High Culture, which you can display with pride, being an example to others. --Anna Lincoln (talk) 21:03, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Congratulations.[edit]

Dear Kotabatubara:

I was greatly surprised by your contributions in the case of the Mexican Spanish page. Keep doing such a good work! --Estaurofila (talk) 17:00, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Spanish language, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Prosody and Wh-questions (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

File permission problem with File:Lloyd Kasten.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Lloyd Kasten.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:28, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Comment to User:Krystoffer[edit]

You had mistakenly left a comment for the above user in User Discussion:Krystoffer instead of User talk:Krystoffer. I have moved it to the correct area (User talk:Krystoffer#Exlaining deletion from "Que Sera Sera"). ... discospinster talk 18:40, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

November 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Alfonso X of Castile may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • '''Alfonso X''' (also occasionally '''Alphonse X''' or '''Alfons X'''<ref>Unlike other names of Spanish kings prior

Stale Draft[edit]

Information iconHello, Kotabatubara, I saw that you made a draft for a new article at User:50.40.198.57/Kotabatubara. According to WP:STALEDRAFT, "Short term hosting of potentially valid articles and other reasonable content under development or in active use is usually acceptable (the template {{userspace draft}} can be added to the top of the page to identify these)." But in this case, you haven't edited your draft for a long time. If you are done, please donate it by moving User:50.40.198.57/Kotabatubara to a Wikipedia:WikiProject Abandoned Drafts subpage (a participant may help). If you are not done, please finish it and move it. If you abandoned it, you may request it for deletion by putting "{{db-u1}}" or donating it. Thank you. Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:49, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

response to your suggestion for the article on "Loanword"[edit]

Hi! I think your suggestion makes a lot of sense. I've quoted it and included it on the Loanword talk page (as I think that makes more sense for future discussion to take place there). I'm kinda new to this whole "communicating on wikipedia" thing, so I hope I haven't violated any kind of etiquette here, but let me know if I have. Fritzendugan (talk) 07:04, 15 July 2014 (UTC)

Cervantes[edit]

If you're using the Spanish Novelas ejemplares, should't it be Don Quijote instead of Quixote? deisenbe (talk) 01:12, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

I actually disagree with your changes to the lead of "Novelas ejemplares", therefore would ask that you start a section on that article's talk page in order to discuss this change per WP:BRD. Thank you. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 03:21, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
No, that's not the case, Deisenbe. We use WP:COMMONNAME for articles WP:TITLEs and content. Please see Google Ngram for the comparison between the usage of the Quijote vs Quixote. For further information as to the use of Novelas ejemplares, please see article's talk page. Cheers! --Iryna Harpy (talk) 21:33, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

3.7in/s[edit]

So, the 2in tapes run at 3.7in/s. It has been usual for a long time to use speeds like 7.5, 3.75, and 1.875 in/s. Just to be sure, you don't think it is 3.75in/s? Gah4 (talk) 23:22, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

OK, it seems that you made a grammatical change to the page, as the most recent diff. I will have to figure out who to ask. Thanks for the note. Gah4 (talk) 23:36, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

French influence in Portuguese compared to Spanish[edit]

Kotabatubara - stop removing my entries which have at least 2 reliable sources, more than ample and quite reliable thank you. Portuguese has a very substantial French influence not just on vocabulary but also on syntax, grammar etc. Who are you to decide this is otherwise? I speak all 3 languages fluently enough to know what I am writing here. Spaniards appear to have a terrible complex with their more "mediterranean" culture. If YOU don't like it that is your problem, deal with it. Next time you remove my entry, I will not hesitate referring your conduct to Administrators here. Not acceptable behaviour.

Hello! Thank very much for your contributions and improvements in the article. Although I long ago I not publish articles in this Wikipedia, because my English is poorly (as possibly, you realize), I wanted know if the article still has orthographic mistakes or of spelling or if I can remove the tag. Numbers[edit]

"Numbers above 999 conventionally have commas" ... according to some style books. Others recommend those with more than four numerals. It depends on your style guide. Just FYI, I'm not going to contest it, just wanted to note that. Ogress 16:54, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
