Thanks[edit]

My apologies for being late in replying. In any case, Characters in Castlevania: Sorrow series was always a pet project that I wanted to become a GA or even an FA if possible. The latter would require an expansion on the creation and reception sections, and extensive research at that. See Characters of Final Fantasy VIII for an example of what it could be. As to your edits to Trevor Belmont, they indeed have highly improved it. I'll work on it a little if I have the time. The most important thing you require for it to become a GA (see Wikipedia:What is a good article?) is out-of-universe information (creation, development, reception, in other media, etc.) and associated references. Finding those references is a task in itself; writing the article most of the time is a formality. Dante (Devil May Cry) and Link (The Legend of Zelda) are good examples to work off. Best of luck editing, and I hope you enjoy your time at Wikipedia. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 05:02, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:FakeTrevor.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:FakeTrevor.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:11, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Slight Article Dispute[edit]

If you wish to be technical, the criteria for the inclusion of pages is present under WP:N, but I tend to agree with the concerns of those involved in the merger. Sources alone cannot guarentee the inclusion of a page if it cannot build a definite out-of-universe set of information that is present and incorporated into the article. For instance, if you were to recreate the Trevor Belmont article with his initial conception by his creators (if you can find that, kudos), the development of the character, the reception he received from verifiable (WP:V) third party sources, and any appearances he has had in other media (in other games, action figures, etc.), then it would be acceptable. However, Trevor himself is a minor character in the whole of the Castlevania franchise, a major character in one game (that is old to the point where any information you can find would be scarce) and a minor supporting one in another (which would not justify inclusion). The page List of Castlevania characters itself needs a large amount of work to remove random information (WP:NOT#INFO), original research (WP:NOR), and stylistic issues. The Characters in Castlevania: Sorrow series page that I fixed is a better template to go off. An even better one (and the one I based the formerly mentioned page on) is Characters of Final Fantasy VIII, an FA and superb article. Personally, the List of Castlevania characters page should be split into different sections for readability and work concerns, but how it should be split puzzles me. I have a number of ideas, but would enjoy your opinion on the matter. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 23:07, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Sonia Belmont low rez.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sonia Belmont low rez.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:49, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
