August 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Indian Institute of Management Raipur. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please also read WP:CREDENTIAL Muhandes (talk) 20:42, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Indian Institute of Management Raipur, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Muhandes (talk) 21:01, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Indian Institute of Management Raipur. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Muhandes (talk) 21:02, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Please do not use styles that are unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Indian Institute of Management Raipur. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. Muhandes (talk) 21:03, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at Indian Institute of Management Raipur, you may be blocked from editing. Please stop removing sourced material from the article without providing a reason. Muhandes (talk) 07:52, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to use disruptive, inappropriate or hard-to-read formatting, you may be blocked from editing. There is a Wikipedia Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. You are introducing multiple violations to WP:CREDENTIAL, WP:OVERLINKING, WP:ABBR, WP:EL and other MOS, guidelines and policies. Please stop. Muhandes (talk) 07:54, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

This is your last warning. The next time you make disruptive edits to Wikipedia contrary to the Manual of Style, as you did at Indian Institute of Management Raipur, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Although the issue of WP:CREDENTIALS was explained to you multiples time by multiple editors, you refuse to understand. Please stop. Muhandes (talk) 11:53, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

Collaboration[edit]

You continue to make the same edits even after two separate editors asked you to stop and discuss. This is a collaborative endeavor. Please discuss the disagreement at Talk: Indian Institute of Management Raipur before you edit the page again. If you continue to edit without attempting to resolve your differences with other editors, I will have to block your account from editing. --Floquenbeam (talk) 22:51, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Since you have ignored this warning, and have now started creating alternate accounts to continue to edit war, I have blocked this account for two weeks. If problems resume, I will reblock indefinitely. It really isn't that hard to discuss things, and you will not get your way if you refuse. I'll add the standard template so you can read the unblock request instructions. --Floquenbeam (talk) 16:20, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 2 weeks for edit warring, refusal to discuss, and using another account to continue the edit war. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Request reason:

I agree to the charges that I continued to edit without listening to the editors. I have been trying to edit the page because it has become obsolete and I wanted to update it with information. The mistake I was doing was that I did not include the edit summary when I edited the article. By the time I realized it, I used another user id. It is important that the page gets edited because it is viewed by people from all over the world as it is an Indian Institute of Management and it is set up by the Government of India. Whatever changes I am making to the page, I am adding appropriate references. Also presently the page does not have many third party references which I have collected now. I hence request you to unblock me and I will not make the same mistakes again. My aim has never been to disrupt any posts of Wikipedia or disturb its integrity. Also I would be grateful if you could help me making the article better in terms of content and structure. I would like to contribute to wikipedia from my side and help make it better for all. Thanks.

Decline reason:

This does not indicate that you intend to stop edit warring. Hersfold (t/a/c) 16:06, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired.

I have already offered to help, and that offer is still available. I also asked time and again that you stop edit warring and start cooperating. When the block is over, discuss what you want to achieve at Talk:Indian Institute of Management Raipur and I'm sure we can improve the article together. --Muhandes (talk) 14:43, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

Some points[edit]

I really don't want to discourage you, but there are some points I thought worth emphasizing regarding this edit.

  • You changed 70 to 110, without a source
  • "IIM Raipur plans courses and research centres to study Chhattisgarh’s natural resources and energy management, hoping to contribute to its home state’s development" that's a quote from the source bordering on copyright violation. Don't copy paste, use your own words.
  • Dr Duvvuri Subbarao, Shri Mavila Vishwanathan Nair – we went through this before. Use the name with nothing before or after.
  • "RBI Governor" don't use abbreviations without explaining what they mean, see WP:ABBR

There is a huge issue with the way you use sources.

  • http://iimmantra.com/ is not a reliable source, don't use it. Even if it was a reliable source, what did you add it for?
  • You added a link to http://www.catiim.in/ as a source. A website is not a source. If there is a fact you want to source, give a specific page that verifies it, not the website.
  • You added this as a source but is completely redundant - see at the bottom of the page, it says "(Source: IIM Indore/IIM Raipur)", which was already linked. In other words, it is redundant.
  • You added this as a source for the admission criteria. Again, it is redundant to the already existing source What it does is discuss the issue of bonus for female candidates. I added this issue and now the source is appropriate.
  • You added this and this as sources for Subbarao's visit. Again, why two sources for such a simple fact?
  • You added this and this as sources for visits by Mittal and Nair. They are not mentioned in the first source, and an image should not be used as a source at all.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Indian Institute of Management Raipur logo.jpg)[edit]

Ambox warning blue.svg Thanks for uploading File:Indian Institute of Management Raipur logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not.
