I am writing an article about the Disappearance_of_Kimberly_McAndrew and I would to have your feedback on this article, I feel it is part of our Canadian history of missing person in Nova Scotia. I would like to keep it on Wikipedia.jbignell (talk) 00:47, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Spencer's Island, Nova Scotia[edit]

Can you cite references for all the new stuff? Some of it (such as your addition of Lord Spencer and naming the Amazon the first large ship to be built) I'm not 100% certain on. I'm from Parrsboro, Nova Scotia and I have family down shore, including several shipbuilders and Captains (I think I might even be a descendant of Spicer!). I'll have to crack open my history books on the area as well...unfortunately though, I don't have any here in Ontario... Andrew647 19:04, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

--Halifax Explosion : There is an annual meetup of survivors, and I was lucky enough to attend that this year. There were less than 20 survivors remaining. As you can imagine, this year will be the 90th anniversary of the Explosion, so that means the youngest survivor is 90 years old, and the oldest being 103. —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 14:49, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Edward Low[edit]

Hi Letterofmarque. I saw you had edited the Edward Low article quite a bit. I've just greatly expanded the article, and another pair of eyes to take a look at it would be greatly appreicated. Given your name, you may also like to consider joining the Piracy WikiProject! Happy editing, Neil  09:56, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Wikiproject Nova Scotia[edit]

Hi! I notice you have made some recent changes to Nova Scotia related articles, and I am inviting you to join Wikiproject Nova Scotia, a collaboration of editors who are interested in improving the quality of Nova Scotia related articles. I know this is the second invitation from Wikiprojects you have received, but the worst that can happen is you say no! If you are interested, just add your name to the list! Mary Celeste[edit]

I only just noticed your comment on my talk page, and its undated.

The problem with this story is that there is whole industry writing books and now making documentaries about the Mary Celeste, along with manufacturing stories. Even in the days of Charles Fay, who wrote one of the best books, he spends several pages debunking this.

I'm sure there was a cat or two on board, however there are no reports about any after, and any comments about them from the owners and Briggs family in the US are pure speculation because they were not around when it was found drifting. With respect to Mr Raddall its quite immaterial to the story, unless you think the cat did it :) --Gibnews (talk) 00:45, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

SS Mont-Blanc[edit]

Re your message, no problem. The article states the ship went through several owners, and was registered at three different ports. If the dates of these are known you could add them to the infobox. See SS Empire Adventure for an example of how this can be done. The <br> function is quite useful for this. Mjroots (talk) 05:49, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Scotia Square[edit]

Phrases like "devoured" and "fortress-like" aren't really NPOV. Kinou (talk) 08:19, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Photo request[edit]

Are you in proximity to Halifax International Airport?

If so, would you be willing to photograph the Air Canada Jazz headquarters? WhisperToMe (talk) 03:07, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

  • Thanks for referring me to her! Lemme contact her and see if she's willing to do it! WhisperToMe (talk) 03:20, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Bay of Fundy[edit]

As I recall, the picture was taken in New Brunswick, not far from the w:Fundy National Park. I don't remember traveling along the Nova Scotia side of the bay. -- SamuelWantman 18:25, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

HMS Shannon[edit]

Do you have a ref for that addition?Tirronan (talk) 23:03, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Didn't really think it needed one since the addition links to an already well-sourced article about Sir John Sherbrooke (Halifax). However, since you asked, reference added.Letterofmarque (talk) 03:34, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Edward Cornwallis[edit]

Nice additions to the website. --Hantsheroes (talk) 23:03, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. I also very much appreciate all the context that you have brought to the thorny issues of 1749 and look forward to further development. Here's hoping some well-sourced facts will assist with understanding.Letterofmarque (talk) 23:39, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

Expulsion of the Acadians[edit]

I think you have the page number wrong re: reference to Reid in the Historical Comparisons. The page number you have is to Patterson's chapter.--Hantsheroes (talk) 23:50, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Made the fix. Thanks!Letterofmarque (talk) 00:33, 21 October 2011 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
