Speedy deletion nomination of ForAmerica[edit]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.

A tag has been placed on ForAmerica, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, Speedy delete contest button.png. Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 19:49, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Lynn Fitch[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Lynn Fitch has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 22:42, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Lynn Fitch[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Lynn Fitch has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Essentially a campaign CV for a non-notable would-be candidate for state office, sourced only to her campaign website

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Harris Media LLC[edit]

I've restored the page to a sub-page of your user-page: User:LibandJustice/Harris Media LLC. Do work on the article there and find me for help whenever necessary. Deryck C. 04:55, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks Deryck, I've worked on it and made some changes to it. Could you please tell me if I'm headed in the right direction? Thanks! LibandJustice (talk) 22:25, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Hello. Sorry for the late reply. A few things to begin with: the section title "Rick Scott case study" is rather inappropriate. I would suggest removing the title altogether. The use of the case study seems rather promotional, and would be much better if it became "According to [insert some media agency/journalist here], ..."
Use the Cite templates (in the edit box above), and avoid posting bare links. Also, don't cite Facebook. Call back when you've made a few changes, I'll have another look. Deryck C. 03:41, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Hey Deryck, I really appreciate the help. I will work on these changes and seek your assistance when I make them. LibandJustice (talk) 21:28, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

If the Rick Scott Facebook case study is indeed notable, then either Facebook's official press release / blog or a tech news website will have covered it. It's fine to pick out fragments of information from various sources, as long as piecing them together doesn't amount to WP:Synthesis. If other well-known news sources have interviewed, or covered Harris Media in other ways, like the CNN politics blog did, it's a good idea to draw information from them. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Doug Ose profile.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:Doug Ose profile.jpg, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • The image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated. (See section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
  • The image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. (See section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Stefan2 (talk) 14:26, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Doug Ose current.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Doug Ose current.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 14:26, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Doug Ose current.jpg[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

Thanks for uploading File:Doug Ose current.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 19:27, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Ryan Sitton for Texas Railroad Commissioner, Hard Hat.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ryan Sitton for Texas Railroad Commissioner, Hard Hat.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy.

Thank you. Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:40, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
