AfD nomination of Flipshu

I've nominated Flipshu, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Flipshu satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Flipshu and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Flipshu during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. --adavidw 01:10, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

SD Nomination of Oakridge School Dispute

I am disputing the nomination of the speedy deletion tag you placed on the article under the Wikipedia deletion policy, as I see the article as having problems with a neutral point of view, and that the article is salvagable in the meantime as a stub. ThePointblank 22:18, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Is something not right here?

You have marked one of my user abuser reports for speedy deletion claiming non-encyclopedic content. What am I missing here? Please explain. Cheers. --Bandalho 23:06, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

It has been marked for deletion because it is not encyclopedic content, seeing as it does not assert the signifigance of the subject, and also is non-notable (yielding 0 hits on google). Luksuh 02:15, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Well, seeing as I am a newb in all this editing and reporting sheenanigang, I'll just abide by your decision. Have a good one. --Bandalho 02:49, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Bellflower: A Firefly Fanfilm

You have recently recreated or reposted material at Bellflower: A Firefly Fanfilm which previously was deleted in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policies. Please do not recreate this article without prior approval from an administrator or you may be blocked from editing. We ask that you respect what Wikipedia is not. If you disagree with the article's deletion, you may seek an independent deletion review. -- Merope 13:58, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't know of this articles previous incarnation and that it had been already deleted. Luksuh 17:27, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Category:Computer Games

Why did you make a new category named Computer Games? There is already a category Computer and video games so what you just created is useless and should be deleted. ---Majestic- 23:12, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject MMO Newsletter - April 2007

WikiProject MMO Quarterly
April 2007 Issue I
About Us
WikiProject MMO Quarterly is a quarterly newsletter posted on the first of January, April, July, and October. The newsletter is written by any and all interested members of WikiProject Massively multiplayer online games for members of the project and interested Wikipedians outside of the project.
Questions, comments, and concerns
For general questions, comments, and concerns, leave a message on our talk page here. For questions, comments, and concerns about our newsletter, leave a message on the talk page for the newsletter section of our Outreach Department here.
New good articles and featured articles
Good articles and featured articles are a great way to see what major acomplishments we have made over the last quarter.

Good articles

Featured articles
None this quarter!

Role call
We ask that within a month, all members sign our role call to show that they are still active participants in the project. More information is available on the role call page.
Major news
WikiProject RuneScape, our former child project, was moved to become a task force of this project in January as it had a small scope but the task force is still going strong to this very day.

This past quarter marks the beginning of our new collaboration system MMOGCM. Past collaborations thus far have been World of Warcraft and MMORPG, both of which made it to GA status while it was the MMOGCM.

As well, we now have an Outreach Department which works on this newsletter as well as spreads the word of our project.

WikiProject MMO is also now a participant in the Work via WikiProjects division of Wikipedia 1.0 and as such, we will be helping decide which are the best (based on quality and importance) articles within our scope. Project members can discuss which articles are to be included here.

News from the RuneScape Task Force
We are currently trying to improve this task force so that we can edit all RuneScape-related articles in an organized manner. To do that we started a massive overhaul which we invite all task force members to participate in.

We have also gotten our main article, RuneScape to good article status this quarter. All this, and the task force was only created in January.

Signed...
Greeves, Ed

On behalf of WikiProject Massively multiplayer online games.

KTHXBI

The article KTHXBI has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. See WP:ATTRIBUTION (Urban Dictionary is not considered a reliable source). NawlinWiki 21:40, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for responding to my message so promptly, and if you have any questions at all, post them on my talk page. Also, when you use talk pages, be sure to sign your name with 4 tildes (~ is a tilde). This produces your username (hyperlinked to your userpage), as well as the time and date code. Hey Luksuh! Thanks so much for welcoming me! It was very helpful. I hope we can keep in touch as Wikipedians.

Thanx again, Pianopenguin127

Me too. Thank U. --Gigaride 00:17, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for the tip! I've posted a few comments to talk pages and never can remember the four-tilde shortcut for adding my signature. (Wiki codes can be obscure!) I think Wikipedia should add a note by the edit box on talk pages reminding people of that shortcut. Thanks again! Richcon 09:40, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Actually, directly below the "Do not copy text from other websites without permission. It will be deleted." warning, there's a note that says "Sign your username:" and to the right of that are four tildes. When you press them, it inserts the tildes into your comment. Luksuh 15:06, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Thank you!

Thanks for the welcome! I will continue to contribute when I can. Have a good one! Bsayusd 18:28, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

question about editing

when you see vandalism, is there a way you can easily change it to the previous edition?? comment was added by Lewisbell (talkcontribs) 11:43, 6 May 2007 (UTC).Lewisbell 11:44, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

The following is genuine verbatim extracted from the article on reversion
  • Go to the page, click on "history" at the top ("Page history" in some skins), and click on the time and date of the earlier version to which you wish to revert.
  • Then when that page comes up, you'll see something like "(Revision as of 22:19 Aug 15, 2002)" below the title and beneath "From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia".
  • Verify that you've selected the correct version, and click to edit the page, as you would normally. Important: in the case of vandalism, take the time to make sure that you are reverting to the last version without the vandalism; there may be multiple consecutive vandal edits.
  • You'll get a warning, above the edit box, about editing an out-of-date revision.
  • After heeding the warning, save the page. Be sure to add the word "revert" and a brief explanation for the revert to the edit summary. Some Wikipedians abbreviate "revert" as "rv". A useful addition is to Wikilink the usernames associated with the versions you are reverting from and to. For example, a good edit summary would be

rv edits by 219.148.86.36 to last version by David Shear

The clickable links are created by entering [[User:Username|Username]] (replacing Username with the real IP address or Username for logged-in users, and replacing Username with their real username).

  • Click on "history" again. A new line will have been added, and you'll be able to verify (by clicking on "last") that you un-did the vandalism plus all subsequent bona fide edits, if any. You are responsible for re-doing all the subsequent edits which you un-did.
  • Hint: In a vandalism case where sections of text were simply deleted and then subsequent edits were made by others, it may be easier for you to cut and paste those missing sections of text back in, than to revert and then re-do the edits.
  • Check the contribution history of the user who vandalized the article. (Click on their IP address or username. That will often bring you directly to their User contribution page, if you clicked on their IP address. If you are able to click on their username, that will bring you to their User page. In the lower left-hand corner, there is a toolbox with a "User contributions" link. Click that.) If this user is vandalizing many articles, please report them to Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress.

Blocked by Mistake

I tried to edit a page but it said I've been blocked from editing Wikipedia. Is it me or is it the IP address "169.204.208.30." that's been in my IP adress? TobytheTramEngine

Can you please sign your post so I can see if your account has been banned (There's a utility that let's users find banned IP's and usernames)? According to this, the IP address of 169.204.208.30 has been infinitely blocked from account creation and editing. A possible reason for this is that you share an IP address with other people, and that other people have used this IP for frequent vandalism. Ways to solve this are to contact people who use this IP and tell them to stop vandalizing Wikipedia, use a proxy to edit Wikipedia, or, if you have no more options, contact an Adminstrator regarding unblocking the IP address. Luksuh 23:02, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Deleting account?

How can I delete my account? Please reply. Thank You

Louisguel 15:55, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

It is not possible to completely delete an account, however, it is possible for your account to be infinitely blocked from editing if you engage in massive vandalism. I do not advise you to vandalize Wikipedia in any way, and if you tell me the circumstances under which you wish to discontinue your editing of Wikipedia, I can offer more advice. Official Nintendo Magazine Forum Page

It's been deleted. Why?

Last night it had been pruned down to a stub - but I cannot see any reasons why it was deleted - I started the article and the forum had been helping to edit it - no strong help or reasons were given and it's all a bit in the dark. Help? I'm new !! 14:57, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

The article you speak of is Official Nintendo Magazine Forum <--- click on the link and go there. You will see at the bottom of that page a message saying "If a page previously existed at this exact title, check the deletion log and see Why was my page deleted?"
Click on the deletion log and it will show you the reason the article was deleted.
In this case the reason is: "CSD A7"
Now you will ultimately one day realise that one of wikipedia's biggest problems is where admins do these things (delete articles) and give reasons that are absolutely useless to novice users such as yourself. This can leave you very frustrated. You will try to recreate the page (because you don't know better) and then they will do harsh things like locking the article from recreation, and if you keep on doing it they will treat you even worse.
All that they need to do is direct you to the page that explains exactly why your article was deleted: here and look for CSD A7, which basically says "article about a person, group, company, or website that does not assert the importance of the subject." Basically we can't just put every forum on Wikipedia. It has to be "important" or in other words "notable". Your forum would have to perhaps have been mentioned in a newspaper article or two - or referenced in a published book.
Good luck, and if you read those articles you should now understand and hopefully you won't go mad at Wikipedia for it's confusing deletion policies that never get properly cited by deletion-happy admins think it's soooo cool to just delete-delete-delete without explaining WHY to the article's authors.

Hi Luksuh

hi luksuh

This is PeteTurtle Thank you for welcoming me as a Wikipedian.

I have a question.

How do you make text that has a dashed box around it?

i have NO idea how to do that.

. Thanks!

 #Peteturtle 21:50, 15 May 2007 (UTC
sometimes i accidentally get it to do it

but it sometimes doesn't

At the begining of a line, press the spacebar, followed by the text you want to put in the box. Luksuh 15:04, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Apologies

I am sorry that I am not commiting to wiki as much as I would like. This is because I am doing my GCSE exams. Lewisbell 19:31, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Lamborghini Diablo GT

Can you move Lamborghini Diablo GT over Lamborghini Diablo Gran Turismo. I gave a wrong a name, I guess
Louis Alberto Guel 11:28, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Apparently, someone has already redirected Lamborghini Diablo GT to Lamborghini Diablo Gran Turismo. Luksuh 16:17, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
That would be my fault. I just wanted to move it so any person who wants to look up this car could find in the search engine.
Louis Alberto Guel 19:22, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
By the way, I moved over the redirect. So It's OK, Louis Alberto Guel 21:21, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Adoption

Hi,

I'm Dale in Charlotte.

I made it a personal goal this year to post something on Wikipedia. I was hoping to share with others here about the faith and health connection and the value of growing deeper in faith and the impact on a person's health.

I had also thought it would be helpful to have a bio page. If you see the page on Desiree Summers........ somthing like that.

I write for Faith and Fitness magazine in a regular column.

I'm hoping you can help guide me along.

Looking forward to it.

Thanks!

Adoption

Thanks for offering to adopt me! However, I've had another offer with a user who has experience in areas of Wikipedia which are more in-tune to my areas of expertise. I see you have a couple other potential adopt-ees up there so I'm sure you'll be quite busy without me badgering you. Thanks for the offer though. Take care, Lusksuh! - Campanile 16:42, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

adoption offer

sorry G, but i've already got 2 people adopting me, thanks anyway - Brooklyn Soldier 19:14, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for the smile! :) Acalamari 18:30, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

I would like to be adopted

How do you suggest we begin? Adowoody238 01:26, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Adoption templates

Hi. I notice that you've offered to adopt a few users, and added {{adoptoffer}} to their userpages without removing {{adoptme}}. I've been removing these where appropriate, but in the future please try to remember to remove them yourself, since otherwise the category of users seeking to be adopted can get a bit cluttered. Thanks. --Sopoforic 21:52, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Your Award center "challenge"

I've accepted your "challenge" on User:The Transhumanist/Award Center. How do you want me to keep track of these? I started a page filled with the diffs (User:Malinaccier/Welcomed users), but copying and pasting is proving extremely hard on my wrists and fingers. I would prefer if you trusted my simple count without the diffs listed, but it's up to you. Malinaccier (talk contribs) 01:59, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Welcomed over 1000 users

Lofty challenge, and a lot of fun I must say - It feels good welcoming potential editors. I got to see dozens and dozens make great edits after the fact. Anyway. Here is the diff for proof. It was easy to count with Excel. [1] cheers! Wisdom89 (talk) 01:36, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
