A blast from the past[edit]

Hey dude, I am back - and holy sh*t! You guys have done some amazing work around here! All of the featured Slayer's, Metallica, ect ect. 17 good and 6 featured, man, you are a machine! Excellent work!

I edited from work, and my workplace blocked Wikipedia last year (editing at home usually takes a back seat to working on my own music, among other things) But I finally got a laptop setup here at work, so I can jump back on. I am going to start off slow, mostly doing small things and patrolling (protecting my baby - Megadeth!! - it has actually stood up pretty well over time - thanks for keeping it looking good) But in the long run I really do wanna get the big metal pages featured still - Maiden, Sabbath, Priest, ect.

It seems that nearly every picture I uploaded has been removed, there must be a new rule (or more heavily enforced rules) when it comes to album covers and the like. I hope they are still allowed, and that might be my first big goal, to fix the rationale for all of the metal album covers to comply with the rules.

Anyway, just wanted to give you guys a heads up and congrats on all of the killer articles, metal has come a long way around here in the year I was gone! (cant believe its been a year, it took me 20 minutes to remember my passowrd!)

AVP[edit]

Looks like I was too late, but overall it is very good and I would have passed it. I look forward to your work on the more popular entries in the series. Alientraveller (talk) 16:09, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Head's up regarding those Commons images of the creatures in the series. Those characters are copyrighted designs, so they'll have to be removed, and uploaded here under the right licensing. Alientraveller (talk) 11:16, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What does "i didn't think a section is necessary for GA" mean? Should I fail the article or pass it. I think everything was taken care of, but what does that mean? I saw what BritandBeyonce wrote and got confused. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 19:03, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I passed it. The Opeth PR is archived. Do you think it is ready of FA, or should I wait a bit and/or add some more to it? —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 20:51, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AVP[edit]

Dude you rewrote AVP, epic job man! Thanks a lot! 76.10.142.175 (talk) 18:30, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alien[edit]

Nice work with Alien: Resurrection - you improved the article vastly in such short time. It wasn't even there when I checked the article while editing Alien (film series) (even if I only seen the first Alien movie so far). But I came to say that you could see the series' article to know what can be improved, and check later this EW article I used as a reference for Resurrection, it can maybe help that film's aricle. igordebraga 15:46, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Alien- Resurrection - Newborn.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. You've already helped trying to make Enter Sandman better, but do you want to help me get the final push? As you can see in the history of the article, I brought it from a stub or B-class to a GA and almost FA. However, my prose is not the best, English is not my mother language. I submitted the article for FAC a while ago and you even addressed some of the concerns (thanks for that). After the failed FAC, I submitted it to the League of CopyEditors, User:Malachirality improved the prose, but it hasn't passed the proofread yet. Seeing as you have experience in FA articles, including Metallica, I was wondering if you wanted to help bringing this article to the next step. Thanks.--Serte Talk · Contrib ] 12:23, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vocals on "Darkness of Christ"[edit]

I don't see why asking who did the female vocals on the song on the talk page is forum material. I can't find any other info on it on any other website, and I was honestly curious on finding out if anyone on Wikipedia knew. So, while I'm here, do you know? Respond on my talk page, please. Dark Executioner (talk) 22:32, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Finding out who did the vocals is of slight important to me because then I could improve the article by adding the name of the woman who did the guest vocals. But, I appreciate you explaining talk pages to me and also helping me out with my search. Dark Executioner (talk) 15:22, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Aside from the critical review section (which I will work on soon), is there anything that I misssed on United Abominations? I'd like to get it up to FA. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 02:11, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I ran in to a problem, I can't find any negative professional reviews. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 03:48, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think the article is pretty much done. The only thing it needs is a copyedit. Do you notice anything I may have missed? —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 03:59, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just borrowed it from a friend, I'm not really impressed but there are some good songs. Do you buy CDs or download? I buy CDs, I think it is good for the band and it is cool having a twenty pound CD case! —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 03:59, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I see you are working on Damageplan, you always seem to start up the articles I want to get a hold of! :D I'm still working on LoG. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 23:33, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AVP got promoted. Congrats at no. 7! —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 00:27, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is a really good article on Dimebag in the new issue of Metal Hammer. If it is available to you, I highly recommend using it for Damageplan, if not I will add to it. I am done with LoG also, and submitted it for GAN. I don't know how much you edited it, but if it was not alot, you could review it maby. I also left two messages before this. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 01:48, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Six! AIC? Do you mean the copyedit or are you talking about United abominations? —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 01:52, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll have to read through it more to see what to use. It has interviews from people that were close to him and stuff like that. it is about ten pages. AIC is a pain in the butt, that's what it is! Yeah, I just really hope it gets promoted. There are seven supports (six, not counting me) and three opposes. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 02:05, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The next thing I plan to do is to get Opeth to FA. Are you going to with Damageplan? I think a really good collaberation would be to work on Dimebag. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 03:15, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Dude, I found an awesome image: [1] But I don't know if I can use it on the english version. The image you uploaded for AiC is being used for the portreges article and is todays featured article. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 00:58, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes! Alice in Chains now has a bronze star in the corner! —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 03:45, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think I am going to work on Opeth a bit more and take it to FA, but first I should let it pass GA. Thanks by the way. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 17:34, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Lamb of God passed GA. Did you want to stop there or were we going to aim for FA? I personally don't think there is enough information we can collect for FA. They aren't a very old band. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 21:59, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dude I was very disapointed, when I went to see Machine Head yesterday, they weren't there! Dave McClain's mother died earlier in the day, so the band had to cancel. It's cool that they went with family though. I still stuck around for Hellyeah. Because MH wasn't there, they played their entire album! they also did a cover of Stone Cold Crazy. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 18:39, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No kidding. I was really exited to see them. I hope they come around in a couple of months again, I really want to catch them on this tour. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 21:53, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alien Resurrection[edit]

I finished copyediting Alien Resurrection. I think it's ready for a GA review if you want to nominate it. The one major thing I did was to move it from Alien: Resurrection to Alien Resurrection (taking out the colon). I also removed the colon from everywhere in the article that the title appeared, and fixed a few of the redirects. My reasoning was that it seems there's no colon in the title. Sometimes with movies a colon appears in the title card, sometimes it's just implied by the way the title would sound if written in a sentence. That doesn't appear to be the case for Alien Resurrection. I checked the 4 movie sites in External Links (IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Box Office Mojo, and All Movie Guide) and only IMDb listed it with a colon. I'm at work so I don't have the DVD to reference to, but I'm pretty confident that there's no colon. Anyway, it's not a difficult fix if I turn out to be wrong. Great work on the article! --IllaZilla (talk) 21:19, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I missed Machine Head on tuesday, so I got tickets to see them on saturday, and boy they were awesome. I had a crazy concert week: first I go on tuesday and Machine Head canceled, then on saturday I got to see Machine Head, but then opening band Bury Your Dead's guitarist was robbed at gunpoint and beaten with a hammer and bat right after the show. Crazy stuff dude. Now that I've seen MH though, I think I am going to work on the article. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 23:13, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is at GAN right now. I'd really like it to be FA, but I can't find enough material. Do you have any. It's fine if you don't. However, I know I am going to work on Opeth a bit more and bring that up to FA. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 04:09, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
