A cup of coffee for you![edit]

Cup-o-coffee-simple.svg You asked about how to change a title. Here are some options:
  1. Say the word and I or any other Wikipedian would execute this or other such requests for you. I encourage you to ask freely for anything and see the response.
  2. WP:Move is the relevant instruction. Note that the URL matches the title of a page, and for this reason, there can be no name change. Instead, there can only be a "move" of content to a new URL. For this reason, it is slightly complicated.
  3. The easiest way to execute a move is to look at the top right. Go to your user preferences, then to gadgets, click the "twinkle" box, then click save. Reload your browser. Now you should see a button that says, "more" to the right of the history tab at the top. Click more then move. After you do this once it only takes 5-10 seconds every time after that.

I hope this helps. If not - ask again for anything. Blue Rasberry (talk) 02:42, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Zenji (video game)[edit]

Hello, MBlairMartin. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Zenji (video game), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. ubiquity (talk) 17:42, 22 August 2016 (UTC)

Retrogaming category[edit]

Hi MBlairMartin. You've been adding lots of video game articles to the Retrogaming category, all of which are already in categories for years in the 1970s or 1980s. I'm not sure why you feel the year isn't enough to identify older games, but it comes across as a redundant category to me. "Retro" is also a personal concept, and there are lots of people who think of MS-DOS games from the late 1990s as retro, for example, or Game Cube games. Dgpop (talk) 13:26, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

It was more to go off Retrogaming, the games I categorized usually need a vintage computer to play them. I didn't think that this came across by just categorizing the year. My description could definitely use some work, that's my fault I just typed it very quickly, but I do think it is an important category for those who are into Retrogaming and vintage computers. I see that you have already removed the category from the games, to me I don't feel that it is redundant at all so I would like to add them back, but as a courtesy I will wait until after I have fixed the category description. MBlairMartin (talk) 16:14, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
This could touch thousands of pages, so I recommend getting wider discussion in Project Video Games first. Not too long ago someone was adding a template to all the video game pages, and that was not well received.Dgpop (talk) 16:38, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
I was not attempting to add it to every page but I agree that bringing it up with the Project for open discussion is a good idea. MBlairMartin (talk) 16:41, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Retrogaming[edit]

A tag has been placed on Category:Retrogaming requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Retrogaming is "the playing or collecting of older personal computer, console, and arcade video games in contemporary times". Categorizing games that are played/collected as retrogaming is not a defining characterstic of those games, and is highly WP:OR/WP:POV.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 18:08, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

Category:Retrogaming has been nominated for discussion[edit]

Category:Retrogaming, which you created, has been nominated for possible deletion, merging, or renaming. A discussion is taking place to see if it abides with the categorization guidelines. If you would like to participate in the discussion, you are invited to add your comments at the category's entry on the categories for discussion page.
