Need help to delete two redirects[edit]

{{admin help}}

I just userfied Mulan (upcoming film), which I created, to User:Face/Mulan. Apart from the redirect which that move creates, there is also Mulan (2011 film), the original title of the article. I request that an admin removes the two redirects. Cheers, theFace 13:04, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

The article has been moved back by Pengyanan (talk) - discuss with him. If you are in this situation again, you can tag the redirects with {{db-r2}} (redirect from mainspace to user space) or {{db-r3}} (recently created, implausible redirect) as appropriate. JohnCD (talk) 14:31, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
*sigh*, fine. I've created an AfD, in which I explained my actions. - theFace 15:01, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
The AfD is closed. Article is now at User:Face/Mulan (upcoming film). - theFace 20:56, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedia talk:Copyrights archive[edit]

Hi, the reason that the bot did not archive this topic is that it is set to archive discussions that have been quiet for >30 days ("algo = old(30d)"). The most recent comment in that topic is from 18 April 2013, only 22 days ago. It's really premature to archive it. TJRC (talk) 20:50, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for pointing that out. But I don't think it was premature to archive. It is true that the last comment was on April 18, but that was me thanking an admin, who fulfilled my edit request and closed the discussion. By then, the topic had been stale for some time, with the last meaningful comment being on April 5. Cheers, theFace 13:27, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
Speaking of archiving... you may want to archive your talk page a bit. It's really huge! My browser almost chokes on it, lol. All the best, theFace 13:32, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
Premature only in the sense of "before the automation would have done it." Yeah,, I plan to archive one of these days; I want to clean out some bot messages first in my Copious Spare Time. FWIW, though, the best way to add a new topic on a talk page is usually to use the "New section" tab; it will create a new section at the bottom of the talk page, without loading the entire page. Orphaned non-free media (File:C plus plus book.jpg)[edit]

Ambox warning blue.svg Thanks for uploading File:C plus plus book.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:15, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

This can go. Has been replaced by File:The C++ Programming Language, Fourth Edition.jpg. Cheers, theFace 09:58, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Just a thank you note[edit]

No problem! You appeared on my watchlist after you edited Kinderen voor Kinderen. I must note, however, that your edit wasn't entirely correct. Santa Claus/Christmas is a similar, but different feast than Sinterklaas. Over here in the Netherlands, we celebrate both feasts, in the same month! (December) Judging from your other edits, you do not seem to be Dutch? I wonder how you heard of Kinderen voor Kinderen and the song? Cheers, theFace 19:35, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
I'm from the U.S.A. I understand that Sinterklaas and Santa Claus are two different fictional characters associated with different holidays, but that both are based on Saint Nicholas of Myra, who lived in the 3rd century. It seems that Santa Claus was modeled after Sinterklaas, and Sinterklaas, in turn, was modeled after St. Nicholas. We have many other names for our Santa Claus, including "Saint Nick". My dilemma was producing a translation for the song title that all English speakers could understand. I took the lazy approach and ran it through Google Translate. I suppose "Sinterklaas wants to dance" would be most accurate. I just happened to see a video on YouTube called "Pi Pa Pepernoot", and saw the children in school dancing to this song. I searched for more videos, and discovered many other schools were also teaching this same song and dance to their students, so I deemed the song notable. Once something interests me, I become a bit obsessed with gathering information on the subject, and sometimes go on a tangent onto other loosely related subjects. (I have even gathered the information to make pepernoot, which I will do in December). I try to have diverse interests, and it probably shows in my edits. I now wish I had registered years ago. Ok, that sounds logical. I hope you'll enjoy your time here. PS: in case you're wondering why I send you a cat, it's a default option when you click the WikiLove button, right next to the "View history" button on a user talk page. Yet another advantage of having an account! Cheers, theFace 18:05, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for your edits to the neglected but well-accessed specialty pages! I've been thinking of some ways to improve them, such as organization and sourcing, but have had any ideas. Would be interested in collaborating on these popular pages if you're willing, particularly if you have any ideas about how they could be systematically improved; at any rate, thanks for giving them some attention. Kind regards, LT910001 (talk) 14:20, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

No problem. Just finished with adding the caption parameters everywhere. That's about the only contribution I can make to the area. I know a bit about coding and templates, but I know nothing about medicine. I can't help you with that. Cheers, Manifestation 14:38, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 10[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Identity disorder, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Identity problem. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. My revert at the Cuegloss[edit]

Hey Manifestation. I just wanted to elaborate a bit on my revert. Since the term scratch is already the name of the entry, the link you placed at the DAB page works without any anchor being needed. You will see this is true because the link at the DAB page still works, despite my revert. Anchors are for when the entry has a different name than what you are trying to link to through a section link. By the way, for entries in that glossary, you can also use the template {{cuegloss}} with this markup {{cuegloss|name of any defined term or anchored term}} and you can also pipe to any entry but display a different word. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 21:47, 10 August 2017 (UTC)

Ah ok. Should have known that. Thanks for pointing it out. – Manifestation (talk) 19:32, 11 August 2017 (UTC)
