Hello @Nahidacste36:, you must click the "Resubmit" button to get it reviewed. You should not move it to the main pages, because it is not at all ready, and will be deleted if moved. It must remain as a draft until it is improved. You have had at least four editors tell you exactly why it is not being approved, and you have not taken their advice. The most recent one left a long comment explaining what it is you need to do. Please read their advice, follow it and improve the article, and only then click Resubmit when ready for review. Hello @Harmonium22:, the links to reviews are helpful, but the links to places that have published her do not add to WP:Notability. We need to see other people writing about her, not just links to her poems, not links to company/publisher/school profile or bio blurbs, etc. Sorry I messed up the link for WP:Notability (writers), but please take a look at that guideline, figure out any changes you need to make, and click Resubmit. Thank you for your review of the article. I am a little confused by your critique. You said that there was an issue with my sources. However, though many of my sources were produced by the Brandywine institution itself, a few others were produced by credible, established, and respected institutions like the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Smithsonian. I am unsure as to why these credible institutions don't qualify as secondary sources? Is it that I need more credible institutions talking about Brandywine or that i didn't have enough in-text citations?

Hello @Brandywna:, at the time I reviewed the article you had far fewer sources, but this is now a lot better. I think this article will ultimately publish, but there are a few big changes to make:
  • You need to remove 95% of the "About Us!!!" kind of stuff; we don't need a complete list of goals and target audiences, and full description of the collections. A Wikipedia page is absolutely not" a spare "homepage" for any organization, those details belong on the group's own website. At most, you could briefly quote a sentence or two where they summarize themselves (as a direct, cited quote, not as though Wikipedia is stating it for them), but the article should not at all resemble a "Welcome to WNA's Official Wikipedia Page!!!" because that is absolutely not what we do here.
  • Speaking of which, you must change your username. It is not permitted to have a "group" username, which yours appears to be. You can be "Ted from Brandywine WA" or "PenguinsFan76@BWARchives" or whatnot, you don't need to conceal an affiliation, but the username must be specific to an individual, and the account never shared. So no "PR rep at Brandywine" allowed; accounts belong to a person, not a position. Your account will be frozen if you don't change your name, so please visit WP:Change username to do so. Do not just stop using this account and open a new one, please take the 5 minutes to request the change, and all will be well.
  • Footnotes are specifically for "here's a reliable, independent source which proves the fact I'm footnoting". You're leaning really heavily on just one PMoA publication right now, so I strongly advise you go to GoogleBooks and find serious works that discuss Brandywine, and cite those in to support exiting or new facts in the article. You can use http://reftag.appspot.com to instantly turn any GoogleBooks link into a fully formatted footnote. I note a number of books about art/print history discuss the group and its work.
  • The history section is really long and detailed, so unless you're citing it to outside observers, it looks a lot like the BWNA just using Wikipedia as a place to copy-paste their "Our History!" section. Long story short, if there's Fact XYZ about BWNA, and nobody other than BWNA has noted said fact in published works, it doesn't belong on Wikipedia, but rather just on BWNA's own website.
  • Single biggest piece of advice: if this page looks like BWNA wrote it for themselves, it will not publish. Even if you are affiliated with BWNA, you can't let that interfere with this process, and the safest way to do so is to only use WP:Independent sources to gather facts, and clear your head of any pre-existing knowledge that you happen to know from being with BWNA. The only things that would be acceptable to source from BWNA are extremely non-controversial facts like founding date/people/location, a directly quoted brief summary of their mission. Absolutely any "claim to fame" or "here's an interesting fact" should be sourced to objective, neutral, outside experts.

Thanks for taking the time to review my first Wikipedia article. But I'm confused by the reasons you mentioned for the denial. I read the criteria at WP:Notability (music) and it seems to me that the submission actually qualifies under 2 of them (even though only 1 is required):

-> "Criterion 1: Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself"

You said "media coverage in the immediate area" doesn't count. But I didn't see any mention of that rule in the criteria.

The ensemble actually has four notable musicians. Two of them are in the notable Alexandria Harmonizers (who are internationally recognized and which already has a Wikipedia article). And two others are in the notable Glen Echoes, who have performed at a Major League Baseball game for 8 conesecutive years including a nationally televised performance.

Please ask that other user, but note also that they pointed out that your formatting is not at all proper Wikipedia formatting. Please take a look at pretty much any article on Wikipedia to see how to make section headings, how to make lists, etc. I will fix a few things for you just as an example, so please follow the example I show to make fixes. I've left Mike a message explaining why he shouldn't be tampering with an article about him, though I do understand that a lot of bio subjects just refuse to accept that, so if he won't let sleeping dogs lie, I'll request page protection until this dies down. In 1986 the Union 76 Truck Stop in Birmingham, Alabama became the first of many to sell two of my studio recorded and released cassettes.

Sorry @Black Yodel No.1:, can't do that, it's not your article. An article is about you, not for you. As a subject, you qualify under WP:Notability (music) to have an article. You wanted an article, and so I spent time giving you advice, and then helped make major changes to your draft to make it publishable. When you started the draft process, you were asked if you were trying to write about yourself, and given links to WP:Autobiography which very, very clearly explains why you shouldn't write about yourself. You pushed forward, wanted an article, and now you have an article, and it's not going to be removed based on the subject's request.
Really worth reading is our summary Wikipedia:An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing. But it's a done deal now since you pressed forward in wanting an article, so no it will not be deleted, and if someone tries to remove text or delete it without good reason, administrators will just lock the page so it can't be edited by normal accounts. I'm sorry if you're not pleased with the end result, but this is exactly why we tell people that they shouldn't get involved with their own article. MatthewVanitas (talk) 10:59, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

Lake Carroll

I am doing this for a school project and thought this article would be perfect. When you deleted my edits I was offended at first but now see where you were coming from. I deleted the community promotion parts and am now searching for information from reliable sources. Hello @Thehamburglar22:, yeah it can be hard not to take it personally at first. Wikipedia is a lot more organized than people first realize, and we're usually so used to just posting whatever on Twitter or FaceBook that being told "you can't do that" is unpleasant at first. But once you get more into it, you can see it's a really developed collaborative process.
If you're writing specifically about a housing community that is not technically a town or village, that might get a little tricky since a community has to have some form of official recognition to merit an article. That is, a town/village, or even a Census designated place in the US generally gets an article since those are clearly-defined locations, but neighborhoods that largely exist in local knowledge without much documentation, or semi-commercial organizations like a housing tract, are trickier to write about because often nobody has written about them except people that live there, or companies that sell property there. So if you want to write about the Lake Carroll housing area, you would need to take a very hard look at the basic guideline WP:Notability (and/or its 10-second version WP:42) to see if that community qualifies. If not, you could always work on expanding the article about the larger community it falls under, or the physical lake itself, or the county overall, and can also upload photos to illustrate those articles. Also if there are any National Register of Historic Places buildings in your area that don't have an article, those automatically qualify for articles if you want to compose one.
If you're not quite sure what to do for your project or how to come at it, visit WP:Teahouse and let the volunteers there know what you're thinking and get some feedback. Welcome aboard, thanks for rolling with the punches and keeping an open mind about getting used to how things work here; it can be frustrating to learn the ropes, but this place overall runs surprisingly well for a volunteer outfit spread around the world and read by literally 10 million readers or more every day. Hello @Ctinc:, I'll tell you exactly what I would've told Hans Berger in 1924: we are an encyclopedia, not a science journal, we do not publish WP:Original research. If you have groundbreaking findings in your field, please submit them to peer-reviewed academic journals, contact news media, etc. Wikipedia only covers issues which have been comprehensively examined and discussed by outside, neutral observers. If your discovery is significant, then surely somebody else who is impressed by your work will eventually write an article about it. Since you are not at all neutral on the subject of your own work, since of course it is impossible to be so, that means you are not at all the person who should write an article on this topic. Hello @Ctinc:, your theory might be the best thing ever, I'm not at all arguing that it is or isn't. I'm just pointing out that we don't publish original research, it's simply not what we do. But rest assured, if your theory is groundbreaking and it gets printed up in academic journals and the news, then certainly someone will write an article for it. Hello @Adrien at Desoutter:, if any of your competitors have a page remotely like you submitted, please submit those pages for WP:Speedy deletion for breaking our guidelines on advertising.
To be blunt, your draft is absolutely, positively, unarguably advertising and does not at all resemble a neutral, encylopedic article. My best recommendation is that you take a look at WP:Conflict of interest, and understand that we are not simply free webhosting where you can come in and make an extra "About Us!!!" page to promote your company. Though it is not absolutely forbidden to make a page for your own company, it's almost always a bad idea, and your draft gives no indication that you have any interest in making a page that is neutral and objective. There is absolutely no way you can look at your draft, and come to any conclusion other than "this is an advertisement".
I hate to sound like a jerk here, but you're asking for help publishing an advertisement, we don't do advertisements here, so that's really about all there is to say. MatthewVanitas (talk) 13:08, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

I have already succeeded in getting the German version included and then proceeded to add the English version, in the future the same procedure will concern the French version. The text is the same as in the (already approved) German version, I am waiting for my account to be recognized in order to be able to upload the same logo (symbol of the U.E.P.) that had been uploaded to be presented within the German version. I am taken aback by your rejection. I am supposed to add citations? Links to quotes by other sources??

Hello @Doitsuno ookami:, the page on the German Wikipedia is not at all a good one, so please do not use that article as an example.
The problem is that you have not provided at WP:Independent sources discussing the UEP. We do not care what the UEP has to say about itself, we are not FaceBook or LinkedIn, we are not a place to have an "extra homepage". All we care about is what other, objective, neutral parties have to say about UEP. You asked Links to quotes by other sources?, and that is somewhat the right answer. When you state a fact about UEP, we want to see a citation to a newspaper, book of military history, etc. which verifies the fact. We only care about the facts that other people care about, so if there are minute details that no newspaper or book has ever bothered to take note of about UEP, that means that Wikipedia does not want that fact either.

Hi, iam unsure if the reviewer understand that some of the referances are to Nazarian Para PMC. they are in norwegian and "Nazarian" (informal) is the daily usage, whilst Nazarian Para PMC is the formal name, seldom used.

NRK Norsk rikskringkasting is the state owned Television channel. Nrk.no is their webpage. BT is Bergens tidene the second largest newspaper in Norway. Webavisen is a smaller webbased newspaper.

The formal name of Norway is Kongeriket Norge, but in daily usage it is Norge (informal). Thous there are no direkt media referances to the full name of the club. they use "Nazarian" when referanse to Nazarian Para PMC.

for instance when the news list - "Norges Airsoft Forbund tar sterk avstand fra airsoftklubben Nazarian" it means "Norwegian Airsoft Association strongly opposes Nazarian airsoftclub" (or nazarian Para ASC)

i hope this clearifies some of the hickups, or am i at fault here, not technically good enought to understand what you are really intrested in? i try my best to show referances and citations, however iam unsure if i fully understand what citations really mean..

In the meantime, if you know of any other news articles, mentions in academic papers or journals etc. about this club, please add them to the References section so I can take a look at them and figure out how to help incorporate the content. So, the more you can show that people outside of Nazarian have discussed the club, the higher the odds of getting this draft published. I don't speak Norwegian, but I can use GoogleTranslate, so you can help us a lot by finding every mention of them in serious news reporting and adding it. Are there any sources that mention them being a motorcycle group? From my quick glance at the sources, they seem to be mostly covered as an Airsoft club. Hello @BillionaireBay:, what your article is missing is absolutely any WP:Independent sourcing whatsoever. It's basically just facts that Stefan wants to promulgate about himself, and sourced to his own personal webage. So it's not at all credible because it's just the subject talking about himself.
Also, even a cursory look at Google shows a lot of skepticism about Stefan's claims to royalty, which the article doesn't mention at all, leaving out "half of the story". If it's your intent to use Wikipedia to promote Stefen's claims, be advised, that's not how Wikipedia works. MatthewVanitas (talk) 14:08, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello @Jason at Platinum DJs:, whenever you think your draft is ready for another review, click the "Resubmit" button in the pink box on the Draft page.
That said, you really need to read WP:Notability (companies), as your current level of sourcing doesn't meet that mark. You must demonstrate that Platinum is somehow more significant than the thousands of other DJ companies on the planet, and not by Platinum's own claims, but by showing serious medic coverage and discussion of their work. If all that the world is saying about them is "they hire DJs to play shows and do a good job", that's great for a company, but it's not something notable enough to have an article for. Hi Mathew, I tried to publish an article about a Moroccan Think Tank, however my submission was declined because the notability of the organization could not be verified. I did put the link to the official website of the organization and I mentioned its partnership with an American Think Tank that has a Wikipedia page (The German Marshall Fund of the United States).
