Proposed deletion of Dark (video game)[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Dark (video game) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Prod no assertion notability or indication of independent coverage for this unreleased video game.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hinckley United[edit]

Hi there - Hinckley are relegated until a decent source says otherwise. Just because another club has financial problems, it's too much of an assumption to say or imply that Hinckley are reprieved. If and when Kettering go bust or get relegated, there'll be an announcement as to what happens with reprieves (if any) and what league Kettering will end up in (if any). Cheers, Bretonbanquet (talk) 18:47, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

I see that Kettering have resigned - it really helps when you make an edit, to either explain it properly or leave a reference. I've left a note for now, with references. Bretonbanquet (talk) 20:40, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
If you want to add something - add a reference to verify it, as I said above. Do not just remove sourced information without a good reason. Maybe you have a good reason why you removed references from an article? Bretonbanquet (talk) 23:06, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
That's twice you've removed that section, and you're not responding here. You cannot just remove referenced information like that if you want to continue editing on Wikipedia. Either leave it or explain here why you think it should be removed, not that there's any kind of good reason to remove it. Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:20, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

File source problem with File:XCOM Enemy Unknown Cover.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:XCOM Enemy Unknown Cover.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Orphaned non-free media (File:Chippenham Park FC Logo.png)[edit]

Ambox warning blue.svg Thanks for uploading File:Chippenham Park FC Logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Speedy deletion nomination of Chippenham Park F.C.[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Chippenham Park F.C., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Sir Sputnik (talk) 03:47, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

Recreation of articles[edit]

Please do not recreate articles that were previously deleted, as you did with Chippenham Park F.C., unless the delete rationale is no longer valid. It is disruptive editing, and doing so repeatedly will be construed as vandalism and may result in a block. Thank you. Sir Sputnik (talk) 17:30, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Chippenham Park FC Logo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Chippenham Park FC Logo.gif, which you've attributed to Chippenham Town FC. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 17:33, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

Chippenham Park[edit]

As the club has been confirmed as promoted, the article can be recreated, if you fancy doing it. The deletion criteria are no longer valid. It would be worth stating that the Western League Division One is at the tenth level of the football pyramid, and I'll do what's necessary to stop it being deleted again. Cheers, Bretonbanquet (talk) 15:06, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Andy Sandell, Chippenham Town.jpg[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

Thanks for uploading File:Andy Sandell, Chippenham Town.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 12:35, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

Women's Football / Soccer Task Force News: August 2017

Should the women's football task force become WikiProject: WOSO?

Sam Kerr playing against USWNT 2012.jpg

According to an op-ed in the recent Signpost, some editors think task forces and subgroups are dying in 2017.

What do you think about forming our own WikiProject separate from WP:FOOTY? There's an on-going discussion of the potential pros and cons on the task force talk page. Input is welcome.

Recent developments

New initiatives have been created for:

  • FA WSL (England's top-division league)
  • NCAA (American university teams, conferences, etc.)
  • W-League (Australia's top-division league)
Ongoing tournaments
Current and upcoming seasons for top-division leagues
Did you know?

While WP:FPL lists only two women's top-division leagues as notable due to its "fully professional" criteria, did you know you can create an article on any player in any league as long as the references meet WP:GNG guidelines? Make sure to tag the new article talk page with: {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}.

Have some new articles in mind or see some that need improvement? Add them to the Open Tasks page if you'd like and other editors may be able to help. Need tips, assistance, or resources from other WOSO editors? Leave a message on the task force talk page.

Thank you for your continued contributions to articles related to women's football / soccer (WOSO)!

Proposed deletion of David Pratt (footballer, born 1987)[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article David Pratt (footballer, born 1987) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
