Please don't call me a vandal. All information I have inputted is fact and most of it is sourced or linked to sourced Wikipedia material. Guidolin's managerial statistics is based on

Darren Tilley[edit]

Hello sorry for not referencing my new edits, I just added statistics to Tilley's career based on the information found on this website shotgun pete, talk. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shotgun pete (talkcontribs) 23:11, 3 November 2014‎ (UTC)

Thank you for you reversion of my edit, I wasn't sure if apps and goals were to be included, I take it from you reverting it, they are not, this will now enable me to make more appropriate edits

Philippe Coutinho[edit]

Hi Mattythewhite I'm new to editing wikipedia articles and all I really wanted to do was change the picture used in the article. I have found a few other pictures that would be more accurate for this footballer Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shivgattu1202 (talkcontribs) 16:11, 24 July 2015‎ (UTC)

Carl Pentney[edit]

Hi! Thank you for keeping an eye on the statistics and my edits. The Carl Pentney stats are retrieved from the match reports at Maidenhead United's Pitch Hero website, apart from the Bath City match on 18 August 2015, which was covered by Bath Chronicle.

Roy Carroll edit[edit]

Hi. I am only a very occasional contributor and have no idea how this process works. You removed my edit saying there was "no reliable source". I'm not sure why you think a source is necessary ; the season statistics speak for themselves, and are available for all to see on the 2007-8 season page for Derby - 14 games after Carroll began playing, during which he let in 38 goals, and the club set a new Premiership record for the lowest ever points total. If you need a cross-reference as a "reliable source" it would be this Wiki page : . I don't know how to use that in a way which is acceptable to you. BOB

Ruud Gullit[edit]

Hi Matty - I was reverting a previous change that had removed a couple of words from an already cited quote that meant the quote was no longer accurate annd made no sense. The addition was part of the article cited for the entire sentence and as such would be covered by that citation. I'd normally have changed this under my own username (User:AndrewMcQ) but I've mislaid my password after a longish absence from editting. Would you revert or should I?

Juan Hohberg World Cup 1954[edit]

I edit about the game of Uruguay vs Hungary in the article about the Golden Team, here you have the source of the hearth attack of Juan Hohberg in spanish

Boreham Wood F.C.[edit]

I've added a link to prove that the club have turned full time and highlighted quote from that article from the chairman below:

"Hunter went on “Going to a day time training programme three days a week, is tantamount to turning Meadow Park and Boreham Wood into a full time football club for the first time in our history.."

Hello, you sent me a message yesterday regarding putting capital letters on common nouns and having the same link in the info boxes. I'd just like to offer an explanation and if it satisfies you then great and if not then i'll listen to your advice. Regarding the capital letters, I have only been doing this in info boxes because the word promoted or relegated is in brackets and is not in a sentence. If it were I would not be putting a capital letter at the beginning of the words. I also think the info box looks more visually aesthetic with capital lettered words, otherwise i find the word (promoted or relegated) looks out of place as generally every other word in the info box has a capital letter. Secondly, regarding having the same link, I have only been doing this because clubs that are promoted and relegated obviously change league and thus the league and last season league link are different. In these cases there are two links. The problem I have is there is then a lack of consistency with clubs that stay in the same league as they only have one link, because as you say duplication is occurring. Thus personally I think it is better to have two links on all, rather than one link on some and two on other or one link on all and then having some league links you can't access.

Kind regards

Nationality of the catalans (article:Carles Puyol)[edit]

Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Carles Puyol, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 22:18, 9 July 2016 (UTC)

Hello Mattythewhite,

Yes, I have provided a reliable source, you can see in the "Talk" section. I copy what I have written here:

The nationality of Puyol is spanish and catalan, not only spanish because Catalonia by law as a nationality. Catalonia Statute of autonomy, Preamble: "... In reflection of the feelings and the wishes of the citizens of Catalonia, the Parliament of Catalonia has defined Catalonia as a nation by an ample majority. The Spanish Constitution, in its second Article, recognises the national reality of Catalonia as a nationality..."

The link directs to the official webpage of the government of Catalonia

Here you have also the Spanish Constitution:

Article 2 The Constitution is based on the indissoluble unity of the Spanish nation, the common and indivisible country of all Spaniards; it recognises and guarantees the right to autonomy of the nationalities and regions of which it is composed, and the solidarity amongst them all.

The link directs to the official webpage of Congress of Deputies of Spain

Catalonia is a nationality not a region, this is recognized in the statute of autonomy of Catalonia and is recognized in the Spanish Constitution. The Catalans we are nationally Catalans because we belong to a nationality officially recognized (Catalonia) and we are Spanish because we belong to a state (Spain).

I do not say that the Catalans are not Spanish, for the moment we are officially Spanish (except the Catalans in France, which are French). I say that our nationality is Catalan (Besides being Spanish) because that recognize the laws, Catalunya by law is a nationality.

ADDENDA In the article dedicated to Antoni Gaudí is fulfilled what the law prescribes and his nationality is Spanish Catalan:

All articles corresponding to Catalans should be so, not for being a whim but why Catalonia is officially a nationality recognized by its statute of autonomy and the Spanish constitution and, therefore, the nationality of the Catalans is Spanish and Catalan, not only Spanish.

Further the Declaration on the Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities Adopted by the United Nation General Assembly (resolution 47/135 of 18 December 1992), says:

Article 1 1. States shall protect the existence and the national or ethnic, cultural, religious and linguistic identity of minorities within their respective territories and shall encourage conditions for the promotion of that identity.

The Catalans have all the right to be recognized as such, besides this universal right recognized by the United Nations the Catalans we are part of nationality legally recognized in our statute of autonomy and in the Spanish Constitution. Therefore we have absolutely all the right to be recognized as such and that our identity and nationality not remains hidden behind the only name of "Spanish" (remember that not all Catalans are Spanish, in France there is also Catalans)

For all these reasons well documented and justified I proceed to revert the edition

You follow reversing without regard to reasons and without answering anything here

You say: This is against consensus and simple facts (eg Catalonia is not a nation state)

Ok, because you do not read the arguments???

Against consensus? see you the article about Antoni Gaudi... What consensus? there Gaudi appears as Spanish Catalan.

Against simple facts (eg Catalonia is not a nation state)? Neither it is Scotland but the Scots appear as Scots in articles dedicated to Scottish people. Furthermore, in the case of Catalonia, Catalonia as I told you is recognized as a nationality by law.

Last reverses are for no reason and without reading the arguments in "Talk" or here — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 07:46, 11 July 2016 (UTC)

Éder (Portuguese footballer)[edit]

Hello Matty, could you please keep an eye on Éder (Portuguese footballer) and protect if required. Thanks, JMHamo (talk) 21:28, 10 July 2016 (UTC)

Could you please protect Mark Clattenburg too Matty, getting hit by vandals as well. Thanks, JMHamo (talk) 21:57, 10 July 2016 (UTC)

What is your intake on this? Has only played in the Portuguese Second Division and Lega Pro thus far, if the latter does not "save his bacon" then he must be deleted, no?

Regarding Carles Puyol, we go at it again? I see this IP user is much more polite and articulate than the User:Lauyulam which was an animal (with apologies to animals), but wrong nonetheless no? If it is I that is in the wrong due to new valid reasons being brought into the "mix", then I apologize and anyone please revert me, if not i'll do it myself.

Attentively --Be Quiet AL (talk) 22:13, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

Oh, and the crap continues in Julien Fernandes! --Be Quiet AL (talk) 22:20, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

The Lega Pro is fully professional meaning Pires passes WP:FPL.
Agree re Puyol.
I have Fernandes watchlisted. Mattythewhite (talk) 22:40, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

Just saw the same-if-not-worse treatment being inflicted to Jacobo Sanz Ovejero, his brother telling to my "wikiface" in 2012/13 he understood how this worked (in Spanish, I talked to him in Spanish lest there would remain any doubts!) then waiting some years thinking I would forget about article and he could destroy it... Disgusting behaviour! --Be Quiet AL (talk) 01:19, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

  • So, as you agree, you'd be "happy" to know that the disruption in Puyol continues. --Be Quiet AL (talk) 17:00, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

Could you please drop a note in the chap (anon) that has been editing in Mr. Puyol's piece? They seem to be using it for quite a while now, so chances are they'll read it. --Be Quiet AL (talk) 18:42, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

Jeremy Heywood becomes the Prime Minister for a brief period after Cameron resigns; before May forms a government. --Kaj Taj Mahal (talk) 15:59, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

I know the player position wikilink contains an hyphen (i.e. Full-back), but is it incorrect to write a player "...plays as a right back" instead of "right-back"?

Attentively, thanks in advance --Be Quiet AL (talk) 18:47, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

I believe it is correct with the hyphen, so we should write centre-back, right-back etc. Mattythewhite (talk) 19:36, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

Sandro Ramirez[edit]

See, I told you that Sandro Ramirez has officialy retired from FC Barcelona and now that Malaga FC has bought him and you think that I was wrong, the answer was no. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LuisSuazo300 (talkcontribs) 22:27, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

Dom Solanke[edit]

Can you please leave the England U19 section on Dom Solanke's wikipedia page as 8 appearances 2 goals. He played and scored against France U19 in the 2016 U19 European Championships 2 days ago, I wouldn't make it up and I don't post anything false on wikipedia. Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Fredy (footballer, born 1990). This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Mattythewhite (talk) 13:29, 20 July 2016 (UTC).

  1. There is no unsourced content added. It is announced on the website of SBV Excelsior that he had signed a one-year deal at the club. 15:43, 20 July 2016 (CET). — Preceding unsigned comment added by DWijngaard (talkcontribs)
Did you at that source to the article? No. Mattythewhite (talk) 13:51, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Brother of Jacobo Sanz Ovejero is blazing all guns after a couple of years' rest, anon IP starting with 5.225. (seems to be fairly used, worth noting) AND a recently created account again removed all negative (sourced!) aspects of his career. --Be Quiet AL (talk) 20:35, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

  • He reverted me, and threats with legal action in his talkpage! The fact that he adds "go to to find proper sources" shows us how much he "knows". --Be Quiet AL (talk) 21:43, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

Please don't write to him still lest we have an edit conflict, I am in the process of doing so --Be Quiet AL (talk) 21:52, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

Shouldn't legal threats be reported to AN/I? (talk) 21:56, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
Per WP:NLT, they should be reported to AN/I or directly to an administrator, the latter of which has taken place. Might be worth posting it at AN/I for another perspective, though. Mattythewhite (talk) 21:58, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

If happened (the edit conflict), but no worries, I copy/pasted and inserted my bit afterwards. Essentially, I told him the following: 1 - All players in the world that have negative incidents in their careers should have that info retrieved to their WP articles, if duly sourced of course; 2 - could he provide sources with the "truth" if he is so kind? 3 - I do not know any Greek, so I am not aware what is reported in those sources, but my Spanish is fine thank you very much, and the newspaper Diario de Avisos clearly states he FOUGHT with his teammate during training, if they are lying then it's not WP's fault. --Be Quiet AL (talk) 22:02, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

  • Can you please step in in Carles Puyol, since you agree with my M.O. (or better said, I agree with yours and WP's!)? Guy reverted me and labelled me a VANDAL, I'm having none of that. --Be Quiet AL (talk) 16:25, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
If I may comment: I believe the issue is mostly down to the IP editor not understanding that they need to gain consensus. They have listed a bunch of arguments here on the Matty's Talk page which have not be countered (because this is not the right venue, I would assume) and now they seem to think their arguments stand. Regards, (talk) 16:33, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

I see, but those exact same arguments have been posted rightfully in the article's talkpage. Last time we spoke about this, Matty told me the IP's approach was not correct, that is why I am reverting. I have no respect for separatist agendas (nothing against Catalonia, hopefully the IP understands that), and apparently neither does WP. --Be Quiet AL (talk) 16:39, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

I've started a thread at WT:FOOTY requesting people help monitor the article. Mattythewhite (talk) 17:08, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

Looking at Eduardo Berizzo's squad templates, methinks that the O'Higgins stuff is overkill. Is it? Last time I checked, the only club templates that are kept are those of the current squads, no? --Be Quiet AL (talk) 18:57, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
