Hi Mcarling :) I hope you like the place and choose to stay.

Some links that may be of use:

You may want to look at Wikipedia:Disambiguation. What I've done for now is just put both people on the same page at James Gray for now. They can be further disambig-ged in future, if needed.

Thanks for the informative comment you left on my talk page. You may want to add some of it to Jim Jeffords. You can sign your name with ~~~~. Cheers, Jiang

Article Licensing[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Merger Proposal[edit]

I have proposed that the Theodora B. Nathan article you created be merged with Theodora Nathalia Nathan, because the two articles appear to be about the same person.--TommyBoy 08:03, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

I read your comments on Talk:Theodora Nathalia Nathan regarding my proposed merger. As noted on both article Talk pages, I bungled an earlier attempt to merge the two pages. If possible, could you execute the merger? If you are able to execute the merger please remove the listing from proposed mergers under the June, 2006 header. --TommyBoy 20:05, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Expecting apologies from you[edit]

In the arbitration case regarding Transnistria you told that I engaged in unwaranted personal attacks [1]. I am asking you either to prove what personal attack I made or to apologise from me.--MariusM 02:10, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

My apologies. I confused you with Dpotop, who made the personal attacks. Mcarling 06:52, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Singapore Airlines fleet[edit]

This is to inform that the Singapore Airlines fleet article has been nominated for deletion by Russavia. Please refer to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Singapore Airlines fleet (2nd nomination) and weigh in your opinion if you wish. Thank you!--Huaiwei 06:52, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Singapore Airlines formal request for mediation[edit]

Hi, User:Russavia has recently started another request for mediation in relation to the Singapore Airlines and Singapore Airlines fleet articles, but have omitted your name from the list. In light of your major contributions to the said article(s), I have added your name to the involved parties list. If you agree to participate, please sign your acceptance on that page. Thank you. --Huaiwei (talk) 17:39, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

United States Presidential Election, 2008[edit]

Some internal inconsistencies now exist on "United States Presidential Election, 2008" with respect to the electoral college results for Missouri and for the 2nd Congressional District of Nebraska. As the article was originally your baby, you may want to look into and harmonize the situation with the latest vote returns. Rammer (talk) 03:54, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Help needed: Sitakunda Upazila[edit]

WikiThanks.png

I found you at the now defunct League of copyeditors, and I am really hoping that you can help the article. The article failed an FAC mostly because of irregularities in citation format. But, it also needs a brush up on the copy and a proof reading job. Sorry for dropping in uninvited, but would you consider helping it, please? Aditya(talkcontribs) 00:19, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Your invitation to participate in a Wikimedia-approved survey in online behavior.[edit]

Hello, my name is Michael Tsikerdekis[2], currently involved as a student in full time academic research at Masaryk University. I am writing to you to kindly invite you to participate in an online survey about interface and online collaboration on Wikipedia. The survey has been reviewed and approved by the Wikimedia Foundation Research Committee.

I am contacting you because you were randomly selected from a list of active editors. The survey should take about 7 to 10 minutes to complete, and it is very straightforward.

Wikipedia is an open project by nature. Let’s create new knowledge for everyone! :-)

To take part in the survey please follow the link: www.urcity.com/survey/index.php?user=61668218.

Best Regards, --Michael Tsikerdekis (talk) 12:05, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

PS: The results from the research will become available online for everyone and will be published in an open access journal.

Proposed deletion of Stanley Marathon[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Stanley Marathon has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Callanecc (talk) 06:23, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

3RR warning[edit]

You should be aware that you are now at three reverts in 24 hours at Falkland Islands. Note that any further reverts may result in your being reported and blocked for edit warring. Note that it is possible in some circumstances to be blocked for edit warring even if you don't violate the three-revert rule. Kahastok talk 10:29, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Eastern Region Line[edit]

You're right. ERL has to do with Changi Depot and will be electrified by third rail. So this is the image link you trying to mention: http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/91/416898692.jpg Sni56996 (talk) 09:32, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

Same document, but I linked to a version without all the highlighting. You should not be so quick to assume that something is unknown just because you don't know it -- especially after having been given a link to a good source, whether you are having problems following the link or not. Note[edit]

Anyway, good job on improving the Mass Rapid Transit (Singapore) article and etc. I appreciate your work all this while. Sni56996 (talk) 05:08, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 10[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Integrated electric propulsion, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Acoustic, Hull and Waterjet (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. I redirected your article to the one that already existed at a different spelling but didn't transfer across any additional information that might be in yours. I thought it would be better for you to do that as you are familiar with the subject. Deb (talk) 11:40, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

User:CFredkin[edit]

Hi there - I see you've encountered issues with User:CFredkin, as I have just found in the article on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. Perhaps you'd like to have a look and comment on the discussion. Cheers, Wikidea 17:31, 26 April 2014 (UTC)

Regard the MacBook Pro table[edit]

Hey there, I just saw the recent edit you've made on the MacBook Pro article and was wondering if the separation is necessary? Since the Early 2015 and Mid 2015 model only included 13" and 15" respectively, wouldn't it make the table easier to read with both of them merged into one column, like previously? Thanks — AYTK (talk) 21:15, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Request reason:

Caught by a web host block for 198.8.80.0/20 but this host or IP is not a web host. M Carling 00:09, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Decline reason:

That IP address reverses to "Total Server Solutions". You claim it's not a host, but the IPWHOIS indicates otherwise. I want to be clear, this decline is a request for you to clarify your statement; other admins won't hold it against you. We'd just like you to explain why you think it's not a web host but IPWHOIS thinks it is indeed a server (and, likely, a webhost). Yamla (talk) 02:14, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired.

Request reason:

I don't understand why Wikipedia matched me to that block of IP addresses. I'm just an ordinary user connected using CenturyLink DSL. Anyway, I'm no longer blocked so, for now, this is resolved. M Carling 02:32, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
