I have sent you a note about a page you reviewed
[edit]Hi Mccapra. Thank you for your work on Valerian Tatarskii. Another editor, Ldm1954, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
The page had masses of Peacock and way too many unsourced vlaims.
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Ldm1954}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Invitation to reach a consensus on Runit Debbarma
[edit]Hi, I have been adding maintenance tags to this article Runit Debbarma earlier, which were removed by the author of the article without any appropriate changes/addition. Despite of proposed deletion, these tags were once again removed by the author of the article without any explanation. Currently, the article is an AFD-related discussion, but these tags were removed too, despite several warnings to the author. If you can give it a quick look at it, we probably can come to a consensus. Thank you for your time. Khorang 07:47, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
Dear User Mccapra,
If you have some time, please kindly review this final article which I created in 2025 above. Frankly, I was surprised there was a legitimate free image of this late Professor on Wikimedia Commons--but it was already in use in his Czech wikipedia article--which I hyperlinked. Thank You for all your help...and may I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2026. Kind Regards from Metro Vancouver, Canada, --Leoboudv (talk) 06:06, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- Done. I’ve also added an edit summary to acknowledge the translation. When we translate or borrow from other language wikis it’s a requirement to acknowledge the source. The best way to do this is to include it in your edit summary (e.g. “translated from cz.wiki”) and there’s also a translation template you can add to the talk page. Happy New Year. Mccapra (talk) 08:37, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank You for all your help and all your reviewing efforts...and your suggested improvements. On Wikimedia Commons, my main problem--as a Trusted image reviewer is dealing with mass uploads of penis and vagina images sometimes from flickr. It can be a real turn off sometimes but we don't live in a perfect world sadly. Such is life. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 09:44, 22 December 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, Mccapra,
I'm not sure why you removed a notification on User talk:Farard that there was a complaint about them at ANI. They are a brand new editor and I think it's important that they are aware of this discussion. Liz Read! Talk! 04:47, 26 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Liz: sorry it was an edit conflict. I was just trying to correct a typo in the comment I’d just left in their page and didn’t even see that an ANI notice came in during the couple of second between my original mistyping and my correction. Mccapra (talk) 04:50, 26 December 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, you have reviewed the article Old Fisherman, which contains four sources, none of which actually verify the statements that they are cited for. Please be more careful when reviewing articles; see the relevant section of the NPP guide. Kovcszaln6 (talk) 19:18, 28 December 2025 (UTC)
William Kubicek
[edit]Hello! You recently added two page curation tags to the article William G. Kubicek. One of which claims there may me AI generated text in the article. There is none, everything was typed by me. Nor is there any AI generated content in any of the sources. Why was this added? Minnastronomer (talk) 23:55, 28 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hi apologies I didn’t mean to leave that tag on the article and did so by mistake. I’ve removed it now. Mccapra (talk) 02:43, 29 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification! I raise no disputes with anything else. Minnastronomer (talk) 02:51, 29 December 2025 (UTC)
- I've done a lot of work on the Kubicek article over the last few days. Do you think it's worth removing the notability page curation tag? Minnastronomer (talk) 04:35, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks but your work demonstrates to me that Kubicek is not notable. What you have found are passing mentions to him or press statements from him. There isn’t a single piece of in depth coverage about him. This would be an entry into a biographical dictionary, or a feature about him in a paper or magazine, or some independent discussion by others of his ideas, methods or activities. Almost any political operative would attract the same low-level coverage as you’ve shown for Kubicek. I think the article should be redirected to the article about the party, where he can be mentioned briefly. Sorry. Mccapra (talk) 07:12, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
- I'm going to put some information from the sources I found researching him into the YDFL and DFL articles when I can, since the whole battle over the party's ideology was pretty well covered between a lot of these sources. Perhaps the Kubicek article should be moved back to being a draft? That feels like a fair course of action. What do you think? Minnastronomer (talk) 09:36, 5 January 2026 (UTC)

- hi I’m happy to do that if you like. It might also be that developing an article about the ideological battle rather than focusing on Kubicek would make sense, as I imagine that conflict is more likely to be notable. Mccapra (talk) 13:56, 5 January 2026 (UTC)

[edit]I believe it is highly notable considering that this individual ran against Obiang in an election, seems like there should be a page about it. Logimite (talk) 08:27, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hi thanks for your note. Per WP:NPOL “ Just being an elected local official, or an unelected candidate for political office, does not guarantee notability, although such people can still be notable if they meet the general notability guideline.” Mccapra (talk) 08:30, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
- He was a founding member of another really important party in equatorial guinea as well. I think he's quite important, especially since he already had a spanish page too. Logimite (talk) 02:08, 2 January 2026 (UTC)

Draftifying articles
[edit]Hi Mccapra, please make sure you don't move articles to draftspace that are more than 90 days old, per WP:DRAFTNO. If you upgrade to the currently-maintained User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft.js, it will give you a warning if you attempt to move an article older than this, or one that has already been moved to draftspace previously. Hope this helps. – bradv 01:05, 2 January 2026 (UTC)

- done. In future if you want to create an inter language link (using the default 2022 Vector interface), on the English article, click on the tools menu, scroll down to “edit inter language links” and click on that to make the connection. On the Hebrew Wikipedia (as it appears on my device) the tools menu is on the left of the screen and you have to create a link on Wikidata, which drives me mad. Speedy deletion declined: Cecil Hammond
[edit]Hi there, and thank you for your help clear the NPP backlog! I wanted to let you know that I have declined your G4 speedy deletion nomination of Cecil Hammond because it is not sufficiently similar to the version deleted via discussion. In this case, the AfD took place in 2019, and the article has sources published in 2025. As such, it is ineligible for G4. If you believe Hammond still does not meet Wikipedia's notability criteria, feel free to nominate the article for deletion via AFD. I hope this makes sense! Let me know if you have any follow-up questions, comments, and/or concerns. Thank you! Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 01:15, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
January–February 2026 NPP drive - Phase 2
[edit]
Welcome to Phase 2 of the January–February 2026 NPP drive. During Phase 1, we reviewed 16,658 articles and 4,416 redirects, and there is currently a backlog of 16,475 articles and 23,782 redirects in the queue. Fantastic job! Completing 22,502 patrols in the first phase made a significant dent in the backlog. Let's keep our foot on the gas for Phase 2, and I hope we can achieve even more reviews than Phase 1. Best of luck!

Redirects
[edit]Hello, Mccapra,
I see that you are changing some articles, like Mauritania at the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games, into redirects and your edit summary says this is the result of an AFD discussion. I looked at AFDs closing today and didn't see any obvious candidates for initiating these changes so you can you clue me into what AFD caused this decision to change these sports articles into redirects. TIt's creating quite a few new empty sports categories. Thank you, in advance, for filling me in. Thank you!
- @Liz: Ah apologies I didn’t think of that. Now I also see it was an RfD not an AfD discussion - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2025_July_31#Sudan_at_the_2025_Islamic_Solidarity_Games. Mccapra (talk) 06:14, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
- I was probably working too late at night on these. Perhaps rather than redirecting them all I should have put them all up for deletion. It looked to me that they had been restored against consensus. Mccapra (talk) 06:17, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
- I also see that in the NPP queue with timestamps after 23:00 on 5 November there is a whole run of articles breaking down the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games by individual sport. I’ll take your advice on what to do with the. Thanks Mccapra (talk) 06:39, 4 February 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. I hope you are well.
I recently created an article titled KMBB College of Engineering and Technology. If you have time, I would appreciate it if you could review the article and share any feedback or suggestions for improvement.
Thank you for your time and contributions to Wikipedia. — S4yam (talk) 20:25, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- hi based on the sourcing shown, the college does not meet the standards of WP:NCORP. There are many cases where articles about colleges are redirected to the main university they are linked with. Mccapra (talk) 20:27, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for the review and the clarification regarding WP:NCORP.
- I understand the notability concern based on the current sourcing.
- In the absence of sufficient independent secondary coverage, I agree that a standalone article may not be appropriate at this stage.
- Would redirecting the content to the parent university article be the preferred approach?
- I am happy to proceed accordingly.
- —S4yam (talk) 20:32, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- hi I can redirect it for you if you have no objection. Mccapra (talk) 20:33, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for offering.
- I have no objection to the redirect.
- Please go ahead if you think that is the appropriate course of action.
