Oops! I missed your welcome message, so a belated thank you for the helpful links. I'm definitely appreciative of any assistance and feedback / guidance. I look forward to helping to act as a resource for neutral info on our clients, as needed.

Cheers,

If you are acting on behalf of clients, then by definition you are not neutral. . . Mean as custard (talk) 20:43, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Mean, we do understand that Wikipedia has specific terms of use and conditions. We are trying our best to adhere to those rules, guidelines, and recommendations and will not add anything that does not abide by Wikipedia's rules and guidelines. We do want to act as a resource for information that can be used for Wikipedia entries relating to our clients, and will gladly assist in whatever manner we can. We welcome the scrutiny of and engagement with Wikipedia's editors (and please, please do tell us if we make mistakes - if we do, it's not intentional).

Best regards,

OE -

Thanks very much for the insight; I appreciate it. I do understand that we may face questions and possibly challenges from other Wikipedia editors but we do intend to stay strictly within the guidelines, so hopefully, that will help. We also have absolutely no problem engaging in dialog with other editors - that's the only way we can learn and improve our work with Wikipedia.

One more question, if you don't mind? Our earlier Hatteras Networks article is now obsolete, as the company merged with another company called Overture Networks. Overture (now our client) doesn't have a Wikipedia article. I'm not sure what the best strategy is - do we simply update and rename the old Hatteras entry? Or would it be better to start a new Overture article with link from the Hatteras article to the new article? I've been trying to research this but I'm having some difficulty finding anything applicable to this particular situation.

Again, my thanks for your help and for allowing me to pick your brain - much appreciated!

Cheers,

Melissa

I think it's better to update the existing article. I already moved it for you to the new title, Overture Networks. "Hatteras Networks" now redirects there. -- œ 18:19, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Ipaccess-logo3.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ipaccess-logo3.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:06, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

I have now updated (hopefully correctly) the ip.access image file that was uploaded earlier. ip.access has granted Interprose Public Relations explicit permission to use their copyrighted logo as part of the article about the company. If the image file description and tags are still incorrect, we'd be happy to correct any and all deficiencies, if someone can point us in the right direction.

Orphaned non-free image File:Ipaccess-logo3.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Ipaccess-logo3.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:01, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Sfan -

Thanks much for letting me know about the image; it will eventually be used in an article but it's taking me a bit longer than I expected it to get all my references together (we have a lot of them) so I haven't been able to get the article published yet. We can re-upload this when I've got it all complete.

Best regards,

Melissa

WikiProject Cooperation[edit]

Hi, I thought you might be interested in a WikiProject designed to help editors with a conflict of interest learn and have a better experience on the site. It's been up and running for a few weeks now, but is really just getting momentum. If you're interested, WikiProject Cooperation is the place. Cheers! Ocaasi t | c 05:45, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Re: WikiProject Cooperation[edit]

Ocaasi -

Oooh, thank you for that info. I'd love to check out this WikiProject, as learning more about how to be more effective would be great. I'll definitely check it out and I appreciate the heads-up.

Cheers,

If you'd like a "mentor" that would able to work with you in order to get neutral information added to articles that would be difficult for you to do yourself, because of COI, feel free to sign up for the mentorship program at the Wikiproject main page. Otherwise, you can post any desired edits, along with text, references, and whatever else is needed over at the Wikiproject's Paid Editor Help page. I hope we have a good time working together as a part of the Wikiproject. :3 SilverserenC 15:06, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Since there's currently 163 members, I don't know if you're a part of the group already or not offhand, so i'll just ask, have you heard of the Corporate Representatives for Ethical Wikipedia Engagement (CREWE) Facebook group? There's a lot of people with similar jobs to yours that are working together to both interact more transparently and openly with Wikipedia and to educate other PR people and corporations in general on how to properly become engaged with Wikipedia (a la not Bell Pottinger). I just thought you'd like to know about the group, in case you'd like to join. I'm Sterling Ericsson over there. SilverserenC 15:32, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
I actually just requested membership today. I'm definitely interested in joining and contributing! Mdrozdowski (talk) 15:37, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

COI+ certification proposal[edit]

I've thought of an idea that might break our current logjam with paid editing. I'd love your sincere feedback and opinion.

Feel free to circulate this to anyone you think should know about it, but please recognize that it hasn't agreed upon by either PR organizations or WikiProjects or the wider community. It's also just a draft, so any/many changes can still be made. Thanks and cheers, Ocaasi EdwardsBot (talk) 15:01, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

Patents etc.[edit]

Your source is independent, but still a primary source. I get the terminology confused sometimes and may not have written exactly what I meant. Wikipedia:Secondary does not mean independent explains it better than I did. As I said earlier, I won't be removing that section. If anything, I'd prefer to see it expanded and don't consider removing that info to be a useful intermediate step. For an example of an article that does this well, see Johnson & Johnson#Litigation. It tells the reader not only that JNJ patents stuff, but that at least two of those patents are both economically important and legally enforceable.

I may try to search for more sources and add to it later. I found some reports of a lawsuit with WiLAN, but it doesn't look too useful. Patent trolls sue everybody, so getting sued by one doesn't say much about Sierra. It's good enough for now, just a bit underwhelming. When a company spends $60 mil/yr on R&D, I'd expect they could say a lot of very interesting things about their patents beyond just counting them! Kilopi (talk) 08:11, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 19[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited IEEE Life Sciences, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Conferences (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

explaining[edit]

Explaining[edit]

I patrolled your page. I went through the enormously-backlogged list of newly-created pages and confirmed that your page was okay: not spam, not an attack page, not a copyright violation, not any of the other reasons for which I would delete someone's page without asking. Then I clicked "patrolled" to remove it from the list of "pages that have not yet been patrolled", and moved on to the next entry. That's all. DS (talk) 21:25, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Revisions to IEEE Rebooting Computing article[edit]

There were some edits made by User:Tinton5 that made the IEEE Rebooting Computing article cut off in the middle of a word and removed big sections and many references. I have temporarily reverted those edits so as not to have what looks like an unfinished article in the main space. I am more than happy to work with any editors who'd like to offer guidance on edits that need to be made to the article to have it meet Wiki's standards. Please do feel free to reach out to me here regarding any and all issues, comments, required edits, or questions.

Please note that I am a COI editor and have declared a COI for this article both on my User page and the article's Talk page.

Thank you!

Sorry that was my mistake. I was editing on my mobile phone and sometimes a button gets pressed by accident. I will be more mindful in the future. Thanks and happy editing! Tinton5 (talk) 05:03, 8 July 2016 (UTC)
