A tag has been placed on Talk:David F. Simons, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You reverted this edit, commenting failure of NPOV. It didn't look that way to me, the only defect I saw in that edit was that there was a typo which needed to be corrected (and I was waiting for reviewer permission to accept the change before fixing it). Prince's current occupation should normally have the lead, and the edit doesn't remove his controversial past. If anything, by removing "philanthropist", it moves it towards neutrality. Could you take a second look at that edit, please? Thanks, Tarl.Neustaedter (talk) 23:45, 24 January 2016 (UTC)

My own third look shows a sentence I didn't notice as problematic in the lede: Blackwater was contracted by the US State Department for thousands of missions in Iraq and Afghanistan and its contractors have been linked to the killing of innocent civilians. If we take out that sentence, would the rest of the edit stand? I dislike losing the more current details of Frontier. Tarl.Neustaedter (talk) 23:49, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
I don't have a problem with updating the lead with information noting his work with Frontier. However replacing "philanthropist" with "controversial" and claiming Blackwater was contracted for "thousands of missions in Iraq and Afghanistan and its contractors have been linked to the killing of innocent civilians" violates NPOV. Your prod

Meatsgains, I just undid your prod on Fletcher_Mulnix. I explained my reasons for doing so on the talk page. The short version of it is , the source referenced in the article states he's the 17 year old announcer for The Minnesota Lynx (Women's pro basketball team) and a backup announcer for the Timberwolves. That, in and of itself, is notable. Yes I know it wasn't in the article, but the source made mention of it. Thanks KoshVorlon 18:15, 11 February 2016 (UTC)

I do not oppose removing the PROD tag given your reasoning. I took a look at the article after it was mentioned on BLPN and after reading through it, the subject appeared to lack notability. I didn't do any digging into the references. Thanks for the update! Meatsgains (talk) 22:02, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
Meatsgains, what was the reason for | this edit . The source isn't a dead link and it appears to be reliable. KoshVorlon 15:33, 12 February 2016 (UTC) Please disregard this edit - Editing without coffee again and I though you removed the link to the article where they explained he was a 17 year announcer, you actually removed the 123-voice.com page (which I can't see due to my work firewall anyway). My bad KoshVorlon 17:24, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
The external link I removed is broken and notes "Page not Found" when I pull it up on my computer. Would you mind providing me the link that must be working for you? Meatsgains (talk) 15:41, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi Meatsgain, Thanks for your feedback. I have tried my best editing JunHong Lu's page according to WP:Peacock and WP:Coatrack and update the page. I hope you can point out specific area that not meeting any policies instead of revert the whole page. Appreciated. Help with Jarret Myer?

Hi there! I'm reaching out to see if you might have some time to look over my revised draft for the Jarret Myer article and, if it looks OK, move it to the live article? Another editor has already reviewed and given their OK, but have been offline since. As I noted in the RfC, I have a financial COI so I won't make edits myself. Thanks! Heatherer (talk) 23:29, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

@Heatherer: I'm confused as to why your draft is on your user page. I'd suggest taking it to your sandbox here. Hope that helps some. Let me know when you upload your draft there and I'll take a look at it. Meatsgains (talk) 04:39, 16 April 2016 (UTC)
@Meatsgains: Thanks for the note and advice! I appreciate your offer to help, but I no longer need it. This draft has been reviewed and edited. I just forgot to make a note of it here. Thanks again! Heatherer (talk) 15:14, 19 April 2016 (UTC)

Need help

We need more neutral opinions here. I've followed instructions here and at Wikipedia:Feedback request service and to used the user lists there. I've sent a message for neutral input to everyone active recently and available for 10 per month or more on the lists in the Language and linguistics, Media, the arts, and architecture, Society-sports-culture, Unsorted and All-RFCs lists, none of whom have interacted with me before, that I can remember. If Americans Knew

Hey: there's some odds things happening at Alison Weir and If Americans Knew. IMO, the articles are fluctuating between being too critical and too promotional. I'm sure a balance can be struck, and I'd welcome your help if you're up for it! Safehaven86 (talk) 15:36, 29 April 2016 (UTC)

You linked Alison Weir the British historian and I'm assuming you meant Alison Weir the activist. I have also noticed some unconstructive activity recently on her page and reverted a few users the past couple months. Let's work together to improve the pages! Re Ritual Tension page

Hello, I hope this is the proper channel for us to talk about this page. I believe you put the page up for deletion originally, and the discussion is ongoing in AfD. First I would like to genuinely (not asskissingly I swear) express my gratitude because you made me work on improving the article -- and as quickly as I could. Wikipedia is somewhat of a learning curve. I tried to deal with the issues that came up, the article has been worked on and enhanced in many ways, and a few days ago I posted in AfD. I’m wondering what the next step might be. I believe we need to get to a consensus opinion but I’m not sure how. Any insights would be appreciated. Bettina F. Rage (talk) 03:07, 11 May 2016 (UTC)

@Bettina F. Rage: Yes, this is the correct place to discuss. I did put Ritual Tension up for deletion based on the lack of coverage in reliable sources. We can continue to discuss whether or not the page should be deleted but the next step is to wait for an editor to close the AfD discussion and determine whether consensus is to "keep" or "delete" the page. Please see my recent comments in the discussion on my suggestion of what to do in the meantime. Let me know if you have any other questions or need help along the way. Meatsgains (talk) 01:58, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for your response. Okay, then it’s a question of waiting until there is movement to keep or delete… All the critiques are making it a better article, in any case. I do understand the necessity for verification, and I think I may have satisfied that, but I guess we’ll see. I will also seek to advance the cause with another post on the AfD page. Thanks again. Bettina F. Rage (talk) 17:25, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
@Bettina F. Rage: Thanks to Sam Sailor's contribution the page now contains 8 references, which strengthens the page's verifiability. I have a strong feeling the page will not be deleted due to the numerous improvements this past month but we'll have to wait for the discussion to be closed. Meatsgains (talk) 02:01, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
Fingers crossed, yes -- but in any case thank you for your contributions and guidance. Bettina F. Rage (talk) 20:54, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
@Bettina F. Rage: Not a problem - glad we were able to pull in others to improve the quality of the page. Meatsgains (talk) 00:52, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
@Bettina F. Rage: Looks like the page will keep! Meatsgains (talk) 23:13, 26 May 2016 (UTC)
It does look that way. I'm quite relieved, and I am so very grateful to you. Sometimes people think the regulators are bad guys, but you really helped me make this such a better page. And I'm so much more impressed with the integrity of Wikipedia. Thanks again, man! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bettina F. Rage (talkcontribs) 02:55, 28 May 2016 (UTC)

About delation of North African Arabs article

Hello Sir Meatsgains This article are created by some pan-arabists his name is alhaqiqa
This person vandalized many times the berbers article
The North African Arabs article is created to abuse berbers and to distorting facts
In a section of this article "Berberisation and Berberised Arabs" they write Racism in North-Africa !!
There is an article "Arabs" so there is no need to create another article
My greetings AyOuBoXe (talk) 00:13, 23 May 2016 (UTC)

@AyOuBoXe: Please take this discussion to North African Arabs' AfD. I've removed the claim about "racism". Meatsgains (talk) 17:38, 23 May 2016 (UTC)

North African Arabs

Hi Meatsgains! I have seen that you have removed the empty sections in the wikipedia page 'North African Arabs'. Can you please leave them there, because they have to be filled with information first. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alhaqiha (talkcontribs) 17:44, 23 May 2016 (UTC)

@Alhaqiha: You can restore the section headings once you are ready to expand the sections and add information. In the meantime, let's leave them out because they make the page convoluted and more difficult to navigate. Meatsgains (talk) 17:48, 23 May 2016 (UTC)

Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

My published page Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri was reviewed earlier by some editors. But on 6th July some User:GorgeCustersSabre ruined it. He added this article to deletion. Verify and revert the article soon. Otherwise the page will be deleted. Please help in maintaining Wikipedia. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mohd Sarim Ashrafi (talkcontribs) 16:10, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

GorgeCustersSabre did not "ruin" the page, he took it to WP:AfD because it appears the subject is not yet notable. I suggest you read through WP:TOOSOON to familiarize yourself with the policy for why he nominated the page for deletion. Please take your concerns to the discussion here to explain why the article should keep. Also, it looks like user Fadesga is working to improve the page by adding reliable sources. Anis Jouini

Dear Meatgains, You have tagged Anis Jouini 2x for deletion and I don't understand why, this is a legitimate musician who tours globally his band tagged in the article Myrath tours globally, please let me know what additional sources I need to credit, please help me to correct the faults I am willing to learn and need your guidance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Evadowdinternational (talkcontribs) 04:33, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

The article does not currently have any references. You've included external links, but those are primary. Read through WP:RS to get a better understanding of what constitutes a reliable source and provide those sources to verify the page's content. "Articles should be based on reliable, third-party, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy." You can start by going through this list and adding relevant news articles to the page. Let me know if you need additional help. Meatsgains (talk) 14:27, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
Also, I'm not arguing that he is a legitimate musician, but his notability is questionable. Simply being in a band that tours globally does not make a musician notable. Meatsgains (talk) 14:36, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

Please review the update to references, I do believe there are far more less notable musicians with less complete profiles not flagged for deletion , he is very famous in Tunisia and I do appreciate your knowledgeable support while I make the corrections required. talk—Preceding undated comment added 15:54, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

The references are an improvement but the article still needs some work. Meatsgains (talk) 17:04, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
Do feel the page as is requires deletion, I please ask you remove the deletion flag, there is other flags I have seen numerous pages that state need improvements but not deletion , you can see I am trying. talk —Preceding undated comment added 17:10, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
We cannot remove the tag until the AfD discussion is closed. Meatsgains (talk) 17:14, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

@Lydiana carely: The images are all too similar and there were far too many of them to include on the page. Meatsgains (talk) 15:46, 27 July 2016 (UTC)
@Meatsgains: If I add only one picture to the section, is that okay? I am in the opinion that the picture add value to the section. I am in the opinion that the picture adds value to the section. If you think it is excessive, how about adding only one picture? Lydiana carely (talk) 16:41, 27 July 2016 (UTC)
I would say yes, except Jun Hong Lu isn't even included in any of the images you attempted to add. Meatsgains (talk) 16:54, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

STARlight Monte Carlo deletion

Hi,

Thank you for your message; as you surmised, I am new to wikipedia, and STARlight was my first article. I have added a number of links to the STARlight wiki page. I have also added some links to it, from the Event Generator and STARlight disambiguation page. However, this has been problematic, and at least the disambiguation link no longer works; I am a little confused as to how wikipedia handles capitalizaiton, and whether 'STARlight' and 'Starlight' are the same; if not, the page may need a different name.

Regarding notability, STARlight is a standard Monte Carlo program used over the past 15 years by 4 current large experiments (STAR at RHIC, ALICE, CMS, LHC-b and ATLAS at the LHC), and formerly by PHENIX at RHIC, plus at least one fixed target experiment, and for a number of theoretical studies (to give one examples, in arXiv:1607.06083). It is a standard tool for ultra-peripheral collisions. This can be seen by some judicious googling; I could add references to the diverse usage, but this would be a lot of references.

I would be open to your guidance about how to proceed on both these counts.

SpencerKlein (talk) 20:58, 28 July 2016 (UTC)Spencer Klein

@SpencerKlein: I would start by providing more references to reliable source to improve the page's verifiability. This shouldn't be too difficult since you said there are "a lot of references." Meatsgains (talk) 03:41, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
