Responding to edit semi-protected requests[edit]

Hi! I see that you fixed the problem identified in an "edit semi-protected" request on Platinum Range. If you should do another response like that in the future, it is helpful if you change the part that says "{{edit semi-protected}}" to {{Tld|edit semi-protected}}, and then explain whether or not you made the change (or say why you think it shouldn't be done, if you're not doing it). This removes the page from a special list of pages with these requests, thus letting other users know it has already been attended to. Thanks! Qwyrxian (talk) 04:46, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi![edit]

I do not remove all the negative receptions from Dream Chronicles series.

I actually don't have enough to fix this [Dreams Chronicles (series)] article.

You can see that I mention the series' main weak spot(s) in Dream Chronicles, The Chosen Child, and The Book of Air. :D – †hinhin_of_you / buzzworthy / βoy Ünder Ғlowers – 12:03, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

So, why did you remove it? For example Dream Chronicles article has still almost nothing but praise for the game considering that the Xbox version got overwhelmingly negative reception. --Mika1h (talk) 10:31, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
I know that the game itself wasn't well received by hardcore game critics. But, as you know, Dream Chronicles is a casual game series, so it's the best that we let casual game critics reviewed them! :D – †hinhin_of_you / buzzworthy / βoy Ünder Ғlowers – 12:03, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
You should read Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. It states there "Accurately indicate the relative prominence of opposing views". --Mika1h (talk) 21:14, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Caption at The Mystery of the Druids[edit]

Hey Mika. No biggie, but was wondering why you pulled the caption from the box art. You're edit summary implies that it wasn't neutral (?). Just curious, thanks, The Interior (Talk) 20:07, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

The same cover art is used in North America and Europe. The current cover doesn't imply anywhere that it's specifically North American, so I called it "neutral". The caption isn't really needed in that case. At best it could read simply "Cover art". --Mika1h (talk) 20:17, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
Ah, I see. No worries then. I kinda liked the link to the box art article, but you're right that it's a fairly redundant caption. The Interior (Talk) 20:23, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:MasterOfOrion3Box.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:MasterOfOrion3Box.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:15, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

ELSPA[edit]

Why did you re-direct "ELSPA" and "Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association" to Pan European Game Information? They are two separate systems run by different organizations. It would be like re-directing French franc to Euro just because the Euro replace the Franc. TJ Spyke 06:40, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

Yes, my mistake. Now redirectes to Video game content rating system#UK Interactive Entertainment Association. --Mika1h (talk) 08:28, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

Uuno Turhapuro (game)[edit]

Did you add the "may not meet the general notability guideline" -tag? You have some "issues" with it? Why don't you find some "secondary sources" if you don't trust the article?

English language links are rather hard to find when it comes to this game (as you probably know), but the info is correct (perhaps some tweaking on the wording etc - it's not perfect, but still). I also have the old Mikrobitti (Finnish computer mag) about the development of this game, but haven't had time to add some info from that one (that would be "Development"-section). — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrMajestyk33 (talkcontribs) 16:25, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

As long as the article doesn't have those sources the tag is appropriate. Also I do not have to find anything. The burden of proof is on the one who added the unreliable/unverified content (WP:BURDEN). --Mika1h (talk) 17:57, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Unreliable/unverified? That's bs, mr "Wikipolice" (you obviously haven't play the game nor seen the movie). Sure, I try to add more sources, but it's not like this game has many English language sources to begin with. Wikipedia is open for all, so if people find good sources they can add them. It's not 100% up to the person who originally did the article. I guess this is news to you, though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrMajestyk33 (talkcontribs) 07:18, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Wow, you clearly do not even want to understand what I just said. I'm done wasting my breath. --Mika1h (talk) 13:00, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Cut out[edit]

Hi, could you tell me how did you cut out year number and stars in File:Pro Evolution Soccer logo.png or which program you used? I'm trying to do that with other logos but I can't. thanks. JuventiniFan (talk) 10:41, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

I use Paint or IrfanView. I just painted white over the years and stars. --Mika1h (talk) 14:47, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

Harvest Moon: Animal Parade[edit]

Hi, would you mind explaining why you removed the category "Farming video games" from Harvest Moon: Animal Parade with your edit? Perhaps it's my inexperience with categories, but I fail to see why it needed to be removed. HMman (talk) 02:58, 19 July 2012 (UTC).

Orphaned non-free media (File:Secret World screenshot.png)[edit]

Ambox warning blue.svg Thanks for uploading File:Secret World screenshot.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. The Cave image cache bug[edit]

I've fixed the cache problem on The Cave image. If you ever come across it again you can fix it by going to the image (not the File:Image name page) eg. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/49/The_cave_video_game_cover.png and then add a question mark and some text to the end, so you end up with something like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/49/The_cave_video_game_cover.png?AddSomeTextHere Then you need to clear your browser cache by doing Shift+F5 on each page that the old image shows up on. - X201 (talk) 10:05, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

A user named "KRISHANKO" (note: w/o parenthesis) is removing "unneeded" citations on Fatal Frame III: The Tormented. Nintendo 64-only games[edit]

Do you know if there is a reason why there is no "Nintendo 64-only games" category? Was there some decision made by WikiProject Video games not to have one or is it just some strange oversight that no one has noticed for years? SNS (talk) 01:36, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

I'd say it's a combination of some people not noticing and some people not being huge fans of system-only categories and not bothering to create it (see:Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games/Archive 99#2 problems with game categories. Still, I think you can create the category if you want. --Mika1h (talk) 09:58, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 12[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Vanillaware, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dragon's Crown (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

GTA V collapsible table[edit]

I like having the awards table collapsible in the Grand Theft Auto V article as well. However, STATicVapor (talk · contribs) has a point. If we're to have the table collapsible by default, all of the awards should be mentioned in prose first. Only about half of them are written in prose, probably because people felt it was just easier to add to the table. CR4ZE (t) 12:39, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

Per WP:ACCESS and WP:COLLAPSE, we should not collapse article content as not everyone, including those using screen readers would not be able to view it. Once the information is completely available in the prose then sure it can be collapsed, but if it is not, then it should not be collapsed. Keep in mind prose is always preferred over tables anyways. STATic message me! 17:22, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Star Fox (video game) may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Blood Knights[edit]

Hey there. I appreciate that there is a standard among Video Game articles that calls for cover art and screenshots, but I personally have stopped uploading non-free cover art and screenshots for the articles I write. This is for two reasons: first, because I disagree with the use of non-free media on Wikimedia Foundation projects, and second, because we are having increasing success at convincing smaller studios to release assets under free licenses (see Fez, Pid, The Splatters, Shelter, etc.). I'm not saying "please stop", because I know that's a losing argument, but I did want to let you know why I did not include images. Sᴠᴇɴ Mᴀɴɢᴜᴀʀᴅ Wha? 21:18, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
