How can I correct a typo in an article title?

The article is :Bristol Bath Road Traction Maintenace Depot (sic)

Murgatroyd49 (talk) 17:29, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Done. I have fixed it. For future reference, you can do it with the "Move" tab at the top of the page. That leaves a "redirect" from the old title; consider whether it's useful, and if not (as here) put {{db-r3}} at the to to ask for it to be deleted. There can be complications: see WP:Moving a page for details. JohnCD (talk) 17:44, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Your contributed article, Minnewaska (disambiguation)[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Minnewaska (disambiguation). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – SS Minnewaska. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at SS Minnewaska – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 13:29, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

Undoing a renaming[edit]

How do I propose undoing the renaming of an article? (Specifically List of Great Western Railway ships)

You did the right thing posting on the talk page. I put a message on the mover's talk page also asking them to come back and comment. Grondemar 09:33, 4 December 2016 (UTC)

CS Forester society ISSN[edit]

I put their "ISSN" into a WP template. Please check. You will find that WorldCat does not have Reflections. – S. Rich (talk) 20:44, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

Putting the ISSN into google shows it.Murgatroyd49 (talk) 20:55, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

It does, but I've added a link for the Society's Reflections listing. We should rely on it rather than the inaccurate ISSN. Doing so gives the reader more direct access. Thanks. – S. Rich (talk) 21:29, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
Sounds reasonable Murgatroyd49 (talk) 11:28, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of COSCO fleet lists[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article COSCO fleet lists has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No value is added to an encyclopedia by inclusion of a list that is already available from the subject's own website.
This article is correct only on the day published. It will require substantial maintenance, likely by hand, which is likely to fall further and further into disrepair.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Rhadow (talk) 16:12, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

! - The inormation is not readily available from the subjects's own website, I've had to collate the information from several seperate pages from three different major sources, also using some minor sources, not yet listed, for verification.

2 - If a lst of the company's ships is not considered suitable for an encyclopaedia, then I propose for deletion the iist of ships belonging to the White Star Line, The British Tanker Company, Cunard Line, Royal Mail Steam Packet Co, etc etc etc. Also the many lists of the ships of various navies, all of which are only correct up to the day published and all require maintenance in the future. Coordinate problem[edit]

check-mark
This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can ask another question on your talk page, contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse.

I'm having trouble getting an infobox to read defined coordinates via the { {coord} } function.

The formula: {{coord|51.23387|-0.574848|type:landmark_region:GB|display=title}} gives a correct display in the title but the infobox throws up a Lua error: Coordinates: Missing latitude Invalid arguments have been passed to the {{#coordinates:}} function. For the life of me I can't see what I've done wrong!

The page is at User:Murgatroyd49/sandbox, Guildford Town Mill.

Hi, in the Coordinates parameter of the infobox you only had {{coord}}, not {{coord|51.23387|-0.574848}}. Now fixed for you - hope that helps. WaggersTALK 15:54, 28 February 2018 (UTC)

The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Listed building designation[edit]

Hello, I saw that you added an infobox to Keppel's Column regarding its designation. Could you also add it to nearby buildings Hoober Stand and Needle's Eye? I would do it myself but I have limited knowledge on how to. Thanks – Ozankk 11:39, 9 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I've looked at it, They appear to use a non-standard, possibly deprecated, infobox, so not as simple as I thought. Can be done, I'm just pondering the best way of doing it. Maybe substitute the infobox with infobox historic site. Hopefully will sort it out today. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 09:23, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
Now done, it was easier than I thought! Murgatroyd49 (talk) 09:56, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
The sandbox version looks great, the only criticism I have is removal of the cost field. But if that's not feasible to include, then I'm all for the sandbox version anyway. Cheers – Ozankk 12:47, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
Unfortunately 'cost' is not a recognised parameter in infobox historic site. I will change the three pages to similar versions Murgatroyd49 (talk) 13:09, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
