Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created New York Live Arts, and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "NYLiveArts", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 21:15, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

NYLiveArts:

A number of things that you should be aware of:

  • Wikipedia doesn't allow institutional usernames such as yours, nor does it allow "group" or "role" names which are used by multiple persons, so this account's name needs to be changed to something specific, such as "Bob at NYLiveArts" or something such as that, and be used by one person only. Additional people who edit need to make their own personal accounts and not use the same account. Please see WP:Changing username on how to do this.
  • Wikipedia has a policy on editing with a conflict of interest, which you should read, as your user names indicates that you are connected to the subject of the article in question.
  • Wikipedia generally requires that all material be verifiable through the use of citations from reliable sources. Uncontroversial and uncontested material can sometimes get by without being sourced, but considering your COI, the material you are attempting to add to the article needs to be supported with a citation from a reliable source, preferable not a primary source.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. BMK (talk) 21:27, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I believe you have shown it quite apparent that you are unable to follow these rules. The material added to the article via an IP editor was overtly promotional in nature, and has been removed. Although you provided some sourcing, most of it was from primary sources connected to the organization. Given this, please do not edit the article again. Please read WP:COI and follow the directions there = you may make suggestions for additions on the article's talk page, but should not edit the article directly yourself. Your username will be reported as violating our username policy. BMK (talk) 05:57, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you.
