wrongtitle -> titlelacksdiacritics[edit]

Per Wikipedia_talk:Naming_conventions_(technical_restrictions)#charset_issues, I'd like to ask you to consider using titlelacksdiacritics instead of wrongtitle where appropriate. TIA. --Joy [shallot] 23:38, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Current events[edit]

Good thing you noticed that - I accidentally added some April 4th news to April 3rd but I thought I had fixed that already. - Skysmith 15:23, 5 Apr 2005 (UTC)

lots of edits, not an admin[edit]

Hi - I made a list of users who've been around long enough to have made lots of edits but aren't admins. If you're at all interested in becoming an admin, can you please add an '*' immediately before your name in this list? I've suggested folks nominating someone might want to puruse this list, although there is certainly no guarantee anyone will ever look at it. Thanks. -- Rick Block (talk) 17:39, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC)

Einars or Einārs[edit]

Thanks for your question about Einars or Einārs Repše. I have reasons to believe that the correct form is Einars without the macron. This is not a popular given name for Latvian men, but due to the similarity with a much more popular name Ainārs (which also, by the way, is often spelt without the macron, Ainars) Einars is often written with the macron. However, the official website of the New Era Party ( of which he is the founder uses only the spelling Einars Repše. I will correct and move the article. --Jūzerisfeedback appreciated 13:35, 16 July 2005 (UTC)

Hey, I've noticed that you are doing a lot of work on diacritics, and wanted to thank you. Nothing more, just so you know it's appreciated. --Dejan Čabrilo 23:42, 17 July 2005 (UTC)

Indeed, very much appreciated! Besednjak 22:30, 18 July 2005 (UTC)

Hello Naddy, thank you for your willingness in work with diacritics, but please do NOT remove ASCII in LINKS in spite of new version of Wiki sfw. Those names should be found in search engines, in ANY language, no matter of user's knowledge of Serbian diacritics or not. Thank you! --Ninam 01:48, 21 July 2005 (UTC)

Cheers... you beat me to it :-) Ta bu shi da yu 12:16, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

So, you're involved in OpenBSD, what do you think of the article? And does it stroke your ego to know some random bozo spotted you and put 1 and 1 together to play the role of annoying fanboy? Have you seen anything glaringly wrong with the related articles but in order to play by the vanity article rule you have been unable to fix them? I could try to tweak anything that's screwy as long as it's not too complecated. 20:19, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

Change to Common.css[edit]

Per recent discussions, the way in which Persondata is viewed by Wikipedia editors has changed. In order to continue viewing Persondata in Wikipedia articles, please edit your user CSS file to display table.persondata rather than table.metadata. More specific instructions can be found on the Persondata page. --ShakingSpirittalk on behalf of Kaldari 01:35, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Elektricni orgazam[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on Elektricni orgazam requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article consists of a dictionary definition or other article that has been transwikied to another project and the author information recorded.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:46, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Hello, I'm PatGallacher. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Pope Benedict XVI without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry: I restored the removed content. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! PatGallacher (talk) 14:14, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

Language links[edit]

Hello. Could you explain where you have put the source code for the language links in the articles for the chemical elements? For Nitrogen as one example, the Difference between revisions appears to show a deletion of all the non-English names: French azote, German Stickstoff etc. etc. etc. At first glance I thought this was vandalism (sorry!), but I see that the language links still show in the article and still work. However they do not appear in the source code now. In the past I have corrected some French language links from English articles, so I want to know where to find the source code for future possible corrections. (Not for the articles on chemical elements but maybe for other articles.) Dirac66 (talk) 20:47, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for reply on my talk page. I have now figured out how to edit Wikidata using Mozilla Firefox browser. However I first tried with Internet Explorer 8 which did not show the edit column so it was impossible to edit. So I think there is a bug in the interaction of Wikidata and Explorer. Dirac66 (talk) 01:44, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Changing Language Links[edit]

Hello, and thanks for updating the language links on various pages. However, I wonder if it would be possible for you to give slightly more informative edit summaries, as this may reduce the possibility of misunderstandings. At the moment, people may think your edits are vandalism, and a thread about this was placed on WP:ANI, which you can see here. I also note a previous message on this page, and recent edits to United Kingdom. Ideally, perhaps a quick notice on an article's talk page could help, but I appreciate this may involve very much more work. Just a suggestion! Regards.  DDStretch  (talk) 12:42, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi, I'm just wondering how you installed the gadget and where the "remove interwikis" button appears on the screen. I've tried adding the code to my commons.js and vector.js but have not been able to see any difference. Thanks. Delsion23 (talk) 01:39, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

No problem, I've found it now! :) Delsion23 (talk) 01:42, 18 February 2013 (UTC)

Wikidata and Interwiki links[edit]

You are receiving this as you have recently deleted an interwiki link on a page that is not currently on Wikidata.

Please either make sure ALL links are on Wikidata before removing them OR leave the removal of interwiki links to bots.

  • Hi, you wrote on my page that I should use wikidata to add interwiki link but when I do so it rarely appear so i have to go through main page to add the link. Thanks.--Khalid Mahmood (talk) 07:49, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

No Limit (TV Series)[edit]

Hi, just letting you know I'm removing the "advert" tag you posted on this page. The page was almost entirely written by me, who am in no way affiliated to the makers of the show or the production company responsible for it. Everything written is supported by a myriad of sources from a diverse pool of publications I spent hours sifting through to make the best quality article possible. How can the article be an "advertisement" when negative reviews are highlighted? Moreover the article has already been reviewed and vetted by other Wikipedians who found nothing wrong with it.
