ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Scale of justice 2.svgHello, NahidSultan. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Parliamentary constituencies

Thank you for your work on Bangladeshi election articles, but your recent change to Tangail-1 does not appear to follow consensus for constituency articles and has been reverted.

The list of Members of Parliament in the article is just that, a list of MPs, not a list of elections (there is a separate list of elections in the next section. The convention for constituency articles throughout Wikipedia is not to list consecutive re-elections in the MPs table. See, for example, Stewart Jackson in good article Peterborough (UK Parliament constituency), elected three times in succession, but listed just once in the table. If you disagree with this convention, then let's discuss your reasons at a convenient talk page, such as Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Elections and Referendums, or Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Bangladesh. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:18, 30 November 2018 (UTC)

Didn't know that. Thanks. ~ Nahid Talk 15:22, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
No problem. If my explanation made sense to you, I'd appreciate it if you would have a word with new user AshiqJamesBond. They are making widespread bold changes to constituency articles along the same lines as your edit. I reverted them twice over the past couple days, and have left two messages on their talk page, but they have been unresponsive and are continuing to disrupt the constituency articles.
When various editors created the first Bangladeshi constituency articles several years ago, they followed the pattern of UK constituency articles. I've continued to follow the UK pattern because no other constituencies articles have been rated as highly (WP:GA) by the community, and I want all Bangladesh-related articles to be as good as possible. Other countries, such as Australia, follow the same pattern, but I'm open to discussing alternative ways of presenting the information. --Worldbruce (talk) 17:50, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
Hey Worldbruce, Sorry it took me a while. I've talked with several Bengali Wikipedia users and readers from Bangladesh. Almost all of them feel that the table is somewhat confusing. While I understand that those tables are for MPs not for elections but the readers I've spoken said, they thought that the list is incomplete. To avoid the confusion, I'd suggest that we could either leave a clarification note somewhere in 'Members of Parliament' section or if a Member won more then one election, we could add all the years in the box next to their name. What would be your recommendation? ~ Nahid Talk 16:56, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

Parliamentary constituencies

Hello Nahid, Ashiq here. I think it will be difficult to understand for the most of Bangladeshi people. That's why I mentioned all the MPs for the all the election whether their consecutive or nor. For example If a MP is elected for three consecutive times and mentioned only once, Bangladeshi people won't be able to understand that he is also elected for the next two times. They will think that there must be some information gap.

Hope this will make sense to you.

Cheers — Preceding unsigned comment added by AshiqJamesBond (talkcontribs) 19:55, 30 November 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Bibliography

The tags you added to Bibliography of books defending Islam can also be added to Bibliography of books critical of Islam but you didn't add to it. I'm removing the tags because they don't make any sense if you don't justify for all lists. The revealer (talk) 11:26, 11 March 2020 (UTC)

One article doesn't have references that doesn't mean that we should create other similar articles without references. One wrong thing doesn't justify another wrongdoing. I was going through the Bengali page of Bibliography of books defending Islam that's when I saw the English page. It is irrelevant that I didn't add tags on the other one. ~ Nahid Talk 12:18, 11 March 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Liter of Light Bangladesh

Hello NahidSultan. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Liter of Light Bangladesh, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not unambiguously promotional. Thank you. GedUK  09:22, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

@Ged UK: well, The article has been created by the founder of that organization it seems. The account is globally locked for paid editing. Moreover, all those sources are trivial and REFBOOMB. Best,~ Nahid Talk 13:42, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
I didn't realise the account had been locked, there's nothing on the talk page. It doesn't necessarily follow that a paid editor would write a unambigously promotional article, and generally I felt that this one wasn't that bad. Whether the sources are trivial or not is not really for CSD to assess; certainly some are there as references to news stories that don't cover the company, but most of them do, to some degree. I think this needs to go to AfD. Sorry. GedUK  19:55, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

Pakutia Public School and College moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Pakutia Public School and College, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Please see the school article guidelines which describes how the content of school articles should be organized, with the aim of providing general guidance to editors - stubs are to be avoided. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Bangladesh Chhatra League

Why you reverted my edit brother? I will give you proper citation. There are some misleading information against chhatra league which is not good. Tapu Mondol (talk) 09:04, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

Tapu, Please discuss any changes in the article talk page first in here Talk:Bangladesh Chhatra League and wait for the opinion of other editors. Because so far, your edits on that article were unconstructive. You removed sourced information in here, removed a valid source here and your ovarall edits on that page is a gross violation of Neutral point of view that is why I reverted your edits and you should seek the opinion of others before making any further edits on that article. Thanks. ~ Nahid Talk 09:16, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

Your email

The user had not edited in some time on enwiki, so check user is probably stale. If suspicious activity resumes you should probably file a report at WP:SPI. Any audio evidence or any other material not suited to public disclosure should probably go to ArbCom or the stewards. If you feel you have enough for a global block, you should contact the stewards. --Deep fried okra User talk:Deepfriedokra 02:17, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
