Hello, you deleted my page can you tell me why? I am spreading information about a popular twitch streamer loltyler1.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ovicron (talkcontribs) 13:01, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ovicron: Does he meet our notability guidelines? In addition, the article also appeared to be talking about him in a negative matter, which is a big no-no here. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:05, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for calling out the overzealous uber Wiki deletion types[edit]

I really appreciate your calling out johnpacklambert on his insane hyperdrive deletion activity. I with others have fought him back twice on indiscriminate page deletion recommendations, and he is part of the larger program of people with personal biases (look at his family history related articles and all the Mormon LDS articles he writes and maintains) driving destructive wiki editing behavior (which of course you can never stop completely, but the zealous exercise of "power" to kill people's legitimate work must stop) which is driving away longstanding editors, scaring away new potential editors, and feeding alternatives to Wikipedia. Thanks so much! Rsarlls (talk) 16:17, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

20:19:05, 6 January 2018 review of submission by Techfall[edit]

Happy New Year, Narutolovehinata5! Did some re-working on the submission. If you can take look, I'd appreciate it.

Articles/interviews on Farrell: The Verge Digital After Show interview, Broadway World and Playbill for "The Old Boy", Interview with Zach Calhoun (it's a blog, but it looks like he's done several dozen interviews), Union College article

Also added reference to recurring role in NBC Rise beginning in Spring 18.

Minor formatting corrections.

Thank you for all your help!

DYK for Yunchi[edit]

On 7 January 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Yunchi, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Japanese singer Yunchi covered the song "Catch You Catch Me" from Cardcaptor Sakura for one of her albums? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Yunchi. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Yunchi), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Speedy deletion contested: Bangladesh Movie Database[edit]

Hello Narutolovehinata5. Hi, I was wondering if there was a reason you promoted this hook to a prep set so far in advance? Usually we do that for Special Occasion requests. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 17:24, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Yoninah: Didn't realize it was too advanced. I promoted it since it seemed like a good picture hook and the prep where I put it didn't have an image yet. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 22:28, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I hear. Personally, I didn't think the image looked good at thumbnail size, and moved it back to Prep 4. Yoninah (talk) 22:30, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Asaka (musician)[edit]

On 15 January 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Asaka (musician), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. Review of Submission by SFNC[edit]

Thank you so much for your review of the article on Draft:Travis_May! I did some edits to add more sources to it, including profiles from Forbes, AdAge, FierceBiotech, and others. Let me know if that covers it -- a quick google news search of "Travis May LiveRamp" gives several hundred articles, so let me know if there's a better way to capture the notability — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sfnc (talkcontribs) 16:47, 17 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting to restore the page Lifespan Integration (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lifespan_Integration)[edit]

My motivation for creating this article comes from my interest in psychology in general and in neuropsychology in particular. I have neither personal nor professional interests in publishing that page. My only wish is to give people access to the various therapeutic approaches offered nowadays.

I am convinced that Lifespan Integration therapy is a modern therapeutic approach which deserves to be in wikipedia. It was created 15 years ago and is now well renown in the field of psychology.

This approach is constantly, drastically and quickly evolving. Nowadays, we count more than 3,500 Lifespan Integration trained therapists all around the world. And this number is surging, as well as the number of training courses organised worldwide.

Lifespan Integration is a therapy based on neurosciences, in particular on neuroplasticity researches. Clinically, it shows clear results.

I guess the aim of Wikipedia is to enable people to have access to knowledge, so I genuinely don't understand why this page has been deleted. Especially noticing that the French wikipedia page has been accepted.

I hope you will be able to clarify this situation and agree with me on the fact that this page must be present on wikipedia.

Thank you in advance for the time you will take to consider this request.

Regards,

Margaux

As mentioned to you by another user, Wikipedia is not the place to promote subjects that have yet to be widely discussed by sources that are considered reliable. In addition, the article has not been deleted yet: you are free to leave a message at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lifespan Integration and explain why you believe the article should not be deleted. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:21, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Actually it was deleted at the time you replied.
@Sanvinke: The community doesn't agree that this is a worthy topic for Wikipedia. Not only was it written in a promotional manner (clearly intended to "spread the word" or publicize the subject), the English Wikipedia has standards for inclusion of any topic. What may exist on the French Wikipedia is completely irrelevant; they have different rules. See Wikipedia:Golden rule for an overview. The article didn't meet the standards described. The English Wikipedia isn't a publisher of alternative therapy techniques that have not yet received notice by reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Until such sources exist, the English Wikipedia cannot have an article on it. In the meantime, I advise you to work on this in your sandbox or in draft space (like Draft:Lifespan integration), where you can work on it at your leisure. You tried this before and reviewers rejected your drafts; therefore, it was very bad form for you to go ahead and publish the article in main space anyway. You should have continued working on your draft. Articles in main space must be ready for publication in main space. Yours wasn't. ~Anachronist (talk) 02:56, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The article Promare has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There is no claim to notability here. It looks to me like it is WP:TOOSOON for an article on this subject.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 23:15, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sasuke Uchiha's review[edit]

Sorry for bothering you in the middle of the week, but I've been wondering if you could do a source review to the article rather than prose. It's simple. Just note that they are reliable and well cited. The article is lacking this after it passed its image review. Still, if you wanna do a review on the prose, feel free to do it. Hello, Narutolovehinata5. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Sandbox".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Home Lander (talk) 23:11, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No Additional voices; DRMIES, Sergecross73, IJBall, AngusWOOF and especially MIZUKAS, etc... for not being reasonable!![edit]

To be frank with you, I'm not going to forgive the following users: DRMIES, Sergecross73, IJBall, AngusWOOF and especially MIZUKAS for choosing NOT to have Additional voices on the actor's pages. They still think that they are like IMDB which is NOT true, and I'm sorry but it still continues to dishearten me how incredibly cowardly they refuse to have addtional voices regardless of end credit source and resume all because of an "RFC" from this Discussion post. :(--AnimeDisneylover95 (talk) 00:40, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I don't appreciate being called a "coward" over trying to be reasonable by doing an RFC. I suggest you drop the personal attacks before you get reported by other users. MizukaS (talk) 01:56, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@AnimeDisneylover95: I understand your frustration. However, the RfC has already happened, consensus has been reached; regardless on your personal opinions, consensus has to be respected as long as it remains. While consensus can change, being upset about it and shouting will not get you anywhere. I'm sorry to say this, but if you continue to make non-neutral statements like that, you might get another discussion at WP:ANI, and you don't want that to happen, right? @Calebharry: According to the article, the company was founded just today. We have guidelines for what companies can have articles on Wikipedia. In addition, the company does not even give any indication of why it should have an article in the first place. 8 December 2017 - Declined Submission Query[edit]

Hello, you previously declined the article entry (Draft: Sterling Media) because you felt it did not abide to Wikipedia’s standards and did not read like an encyclopaedia entry. I have taken steps to rectify this, removing the more unnecessary and un-sourced aspects of the article and trying to make the article as objective as possible whilst using all sources and materials available to me. Would you be able to advise what you would be looking for in the Wikipedia page as a reviewer and what you would change on the page to make it fit in with Wikipedia’s standards?

I have also worked on another draft (Draft: Natasha Mudhar) that has not been submitted yet. Would you be able to advise whether or not it requires further changes to make it more encyclopaedic?

!Vote at the straw poll[edit]

Hi there Naruto. While I respect your !vote at the "faux politician hook" straw poll, you are mistaken to say that the spoiler effect will be "gone" with the inclusion of the image, on the contrary, it will be extant because the image and caption are the spoiler, as they reveal that the Trump being referred to is Trump Street not the politician, and "Russia" is Russia Row not the country. I would appreciate it if you corrected that aspect of your !vote as it has the potential to confuse other !voters. Thanks, Gatoclass (talk) 16:12, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Narutolovehinata5: Hey there. Thanks for your assistance in the DYK nomination of the George Town article. But I do require some help with the article at the moment and I am wondering if you could assist me on this. The article is now listed for GA reassessment due to a couple of issues, such as basic and unprofessional prose, and several lists and tables that aren't entirely appropriate for a main article (and should be moved to appropriate sub-articles).

Could you kindly help out on this by giving the article a thorough look? Any form of assistance on this is highly appreciated. Thanks. Vnonymous (talk) 01:24, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi :)[edit]

Hello. I'm new comer of Wikipedia. I wanna talk about the article 'Reuse Wasted Areas of Donghae Nambu Line' that you deleted.

Actually I made a page that 'Reuse Wasted Areas of Donghae Nambu Line'. But someone deleted this articles for duplicates an existing topic 'Donghae Nambu Line'. But it's not true. 'Donghae Nambu Line' doesn't include the topic about 'Reuse Wasted Areas of Donghae Nambu Line'. And also It's not duplication. 'Reuse Wasted Areas of Donghae Nambu Line' is one of a work of Busan city, South Korea. Totally different with 'Donghae Nambu Line'. 'Donghae Nambu Line' is made by KORAIL (Korean Railroad). So I made a article 'Reuse Wasted Areas of Donghae Nambu Line'. So it's totally different article. Thanks to review my article.

Thanks to teach me many things about Wikipedia ^^ Hope I will be good at Wikipedia soon :) Have a nice day ^^ Genie.P (talk) 06:35, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Narutolovehinata5,

Thank you for your review and feedback on my first attempt - "WHAM." I see your points.

As an Engineer and Mathematician, I am saddened by the addition of "Arts" to STEM forming "STEAM." In my view, they may as well just call the group "Education" as adding "Arts." It just seems like "we're important too!"

As Wikipedia is not the right venue for trying to start WHAM, what other websites could you recommend by me to attempt to gain traction for this alternative? I know the internet has billions of sites - but I imagine you might have a good idea.

Rec Dubbed Anime[edit]

Hey, So I saw that you were the one that added the information that Rec aired in the Philippines here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Rec_(manga)&oldid=521671873 I was wondering where you got that information? I see from your profile that you are from the Philippines and so I was hoping this information is first-hand.

I am currently working on trying to gather information upon the english dub for the show by animax. It has been lost, and I am trying to get as much information upon it as possible. Here is a link to the lostmediawiki.com page for the show: https://lostmediawiki.com/REC_(lost_English_dub_of_anime_series;_2007-2008)

If you have any information about the show please feel free to add it. Especially if you can confirm any information, for example, what year it aired, what days it aired, what country did it air in, was it definitely in english. If you actually have any information about how the English audio could be acquired that would be even more useful.

Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by KriNon2 (talkcontribs) 14:27, 28 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@KriNon2: My god this edit was so long ago that I don't even remember making it. But anyway, I used my memory since I know I saw Rec on that channel many years ago. But since memories aren't reliable sources, I think there should still be online articles floating around discussing it. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 14:32, 28 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Narutolovehinata5: Hey, sorry if i'm not formatting stuff correctly, still trying to work this out. I've been doing extensive research looking into the show, mostly a lot of trawling through old webpages using the wayback machine. I understand that memories aren't reliable sources, however currently I am just looking for any leads that I can further research. While speaking to a user on another website, they had claimed that the dub aired around 2008, but did not have many re-runs most possibly due to the fact the anime was not that popular and show's short runtime. I was hoping with your help I would be able to cross-reference my information by seeing whether or not it sounds correct with you. If you remember anything about the year it aired, what days it aired, and if it was definitely in english, that would be very useful.

Prep sets[edit]

Hi, I notice you sometimes promote a few image hooks or a few quirky hooks in successive prep sets. That's fine, but it would be nicer if you would help build a whole prep set around those first/last hooks. It would also be easier for me to build prep sets if I had the choice of beginning and ending hooks. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 00:24, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, why not? However, I'm a bit busy in real life right now so please understand if it takes some time. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 20:18, 6 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I answered the issue with the Lavi article but I don't if the ping works. As I said, TMS for some reason changed all the actors for the sequel but gave no reason why. The original actor from the Millennium Earl but I don't know if that could be the reason for the change. In the latest supplementary book, the manga author talked with the two new leads's actors, Allen and the Earl, but didn't explain why she changed them. Also, remember to ping me or mention me when you think the issues with ClariS are solved. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 22:40, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am a bit surprised at several inaccurate hooks for this recently promoted GA. I have pulled the hook and returned the DYK to the nomination page for the time being. I have high regards for your prolific works in anime/J-pop/other Japanese-related articles, but the factually inaccurate mistakes in this article are relatively basic, and I hope you can understand why I feel concerned. If possible, I would recommend that you request another reviewer preferably from WikiProject Japan to take another look at this article, as the GA review may have been inadequate. I am not really familiar and quite uninterested with anime/J-pop, so I apologise that I cannot do it myself. Regards, Alex Shih (talk) 08:53, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Alex Shih: Thanks for the comments. To be honest, I had concerns about the article myself, and given that I myself am not that fluent in Japanese, I did my contributions in good faith. I'll be working on the article over the next few days and see if there are any other factual errors that need to be corrected, and then I might propose additional hooks based on what I've done. Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 09:07, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, feel free to give me a ping when you have a new hook and I can check to see if we can get it back to the prep set. Alex Shih (talk) 09:10, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

DYKmake and DYKnom credits when building prep sets[edit]

Narutolovehinata5, when you're adding credits while building prep sets, you need to be careful not to give someone both a DYKmake and DYKnom for the same article, even if both credits are included in the DYK nomination page. The code that decides which of the templates need to be added sometimes includes them both for the same person on the same article—I've never been able to figure out why—so the extra DYKnom is there. When I see extraneous DYKnoms I delete them, but I only see a fraction of the nomination templates before they're promoted. I just removed two extraneous DYKnoms from Prep 2 that had been promoted by you. (If both a DYKmake and a DYKnom are included in the prep set, then someone gets two credits/posts to their user talk pages for the same nomination when the set is eventually promoted to the main page.)

This isn't the only thing that the DYK nomination template builder can get wrong in terms of DYKmake/DYKnom templates. The other problem is that it will add a subpage parameter to the first DYKmake only. While it isn't necessary to have the parameter if the subpage and article name (second field) are identical, it is necessary whenever they differ, and it's critical when dealing with a multi-article nomination—the subpage parameter should be used on every single DYKmake field there is.

Since you are doing increasing numbers of nomination promotions these days, I thought it was important to let you know about these details. One thing you should always do when previewing a prep set is to check in the credits section. Each entry corresponding to a DYKmake should end with a View nom subpage link. If that link is not there, then a subpage needs to be added.

Thanks for all the great work you're doing at DYK! BlueMoonset (talk) 03:03, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Yoninah: Actually I didn't notice, I'd been promoting hooky ones that just sound quirky, didn't even notice that they tended to be US-centric (though I have been trying to not be too US-centric when doing sets though). Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:52, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Special occasion hook[edit]

Hi, I see you're promoting hooks now. Here is a special occasion hook that needs to be slotted into Prep 5 (I reserved a place). Thanks for your help, Yoninah (talk) 21:26, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Yoninah: Thanks for the tip. I moved it instead to Prep 6 since it would go up on May 20 (Pentecost Sunday). Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:34, 18 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for promoting that. However, the date request was for before Pentecost, so I moved it to Prep 5. Yoninah (talk) 07:14, 18 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Narutolovehinata5, I was confused when I read this review that stated that the article had not been new or expanded in the past 10 days. The DYK requirements are for 7 days, not 10; there is a certain amount of flexibility, of course, especially for new nominators, but it's based on 7 days. I wanted to be sure you were aware of this. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:49, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@BlueMoonset: Yeah sorry about that, for some strange reason I keep thinking it's 10 days instead of 7. In any case, my review still stands due to the article's insufficient expansion. Probably needs to be closed at this point. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:53, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Narutolovehinata5, if someone falls short of the 5x expansion, they may not know it: we typically do allow someone the opportunity to do the rest of the expansion up to 5x if they fall short. I've taken the liberty of doing that here: they'd have to come up with 1189 prose characters, a couple of hundred more than they added to the article in the first place, but if they do succeed in doing so, the article won't be a stub any more with 2715 prose characters, and the hook can be reworked. (I suggested a possible approach, though it's still very much a work in progress.) If they don't want to expand it further, or don't succeed in doing so, then we can close it. BlueMoonset (talk) 03:54, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have expanded it.Chemical Engineer (talk) 16:25, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • A backlog drive will take place from 10 through 20 June. Check out our talk page at WT:NPR for more details. NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.

Editathons

  • There will be a large increase in the number of editathons in June. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.

Paid editing - new policy

  • Now that ACTRIAL is ACREQ, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary. There is a new global WMF policy that requires paid editors to connect to their adverts.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

  • The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
  • Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies.

Not English

  • A common issue: Pages not in English or poor, unattributed machine translations should not reside in main space even if they are stubs. Please ensure you are familiar with WP:NPPNE. Check in Google for the language and content, tag as required, then move to draft if they do have potential.

News

  • Development is underway by the WMF on upgrades to the New Pages Feed, in particular ORES features that will help to identify COPYVIOs, and more granular options for selecting articles to review.
  • The next issue of The Signpost has been published. The newspaper is one of the best ways to stay up to date with news and new developments. between our newsletters.

DYK for Ayane Sakura[edit]

On 28 May 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Ayane Sakura, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ...that Japanese voice actress Ayane Sakura practised sword fighting while in acting school? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Ayane Sakura. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Ayane Sakura), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. A barnstar for you![edit]

The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
Dear Narutolovehinata5: While I'm busy promoting approved hooks to prep, you are doing a tremendous job evaluating and reviewing the unapproved hooks. Just skimming through the nominations page, I see you are busy commenting, guiding, warning, and boldly failing hooks. There are so few knowledgeable editors doing the reviews that your contributions are extremely valuable. I also appreciate your calm but firm approach. Keep up the great work! Yoninah (talk) 00:23, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

June[edit]

Bold updates[edit]

Well, no, not really. Clearly those sources are inappropriate now because they would have said these things were going to happen. You now need sources that say they did happen. And I don't speak much Japanese, let alone read it. So no, someone with the knowledge needs to update it and replace the duff references. Thanks for conducting the conversation via an edit summary though. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:03, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Yurika Endō[edit]

On 1 June 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Yurika Endō, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Yurika Endō. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Yurika Endō), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Can we find a picture slot for this one please? The caricature is a really strong image and the hook also better than the very weak Indonesian one. Philafrenzy (talk) 04:22, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Philafrenzy: I put it in the slot since it seemed to fit the quirky slot more than the image slot. But if you want, I can move it to another prep once some free preps come up. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 05:01, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Prep 4 is ready for a person image. Would you be able to promote Template:Did you know nominations/Pierre Boulez? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 12:30, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Yoninah: I already promoted the pics for preps 1, 2, 3, and 5, so I'll have to pass on this one since I don't want to be the only one promoting images. Sorry about that. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:43, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Narutolovehinata5: OK, but I'm afraid I don't understand your logic. You always promote images without building the whole prep set. I just moved your nature image to Prep 5 so we could have a person image in Prep 4. Yoninah (talk) 22:36, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Yoninah: What I meant to say what I like promoting image hooks for alternating preps (i.e. Prep 1 then Prep 3 then Prep 5) as opposed to doing it successively, since I would prefer that other promoters can do the honors for the other preps. Right now, I've been trying to build prep sets, but it's getting a bit difficult for me to find the more interesting ones to promote. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 22:59, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I understand. BTW promoting hooks has also become a bear for me because most hooks can't be promoted as is, either because of article inaccuracies or lack of hookiness. I spend a lot of time pinging nominators to fix things up and often end up not promoting anything at all after a night's work. Yoninah (talk) 23:16, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Prep 3[edit]

Hi, I noticed you added this hook to the quirky slot. In addition to all the other rules we have to follow, we don't put two credits by the same nominator in a set. There was already a Cwmhiraeth hook above. Since Prep 2 also ended with a quirky nature hook, I'll move this to a later prep set. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 10:13, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@SounderBruce: I see. Well you didn't specify that the hook was for a special occasion in your nomination. If you want, I can pull the hook and move it to the special occasion area for July 15, but it's your call. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:56, 23 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'd prefer that. A few of us are trying to gather as many football-related hooks as we can for the day of the final (having only scraped a few for the opening day). SounderBruce 00:07, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Image promotions[edit]

Hi, I'm glad you're taking on more work around DYK and appreciate your sensible but firm approach to nominations. However, it has been bothering me lately how you load up the image slots in advance, waiting for someone else to fill the sets. This often interferes with hook selection; recently I simply moved one of your image promotions into the middle of a different set, and today I had to send a hook back to the noms page because we need the space for a different image. I feel this is disheartening to the nominators who see their hook in the number-one slot and then see it moved. Would it be possible not to work so far in advance when promoting images? Thank you, Yoninah (talk) 19:41, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 14:32:04, 17 July 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Roger Bevins The 3rd[edit]

Hi there NarutoLovehinata5!

I'm new to Wikipedia and hoping to help grow the wealth of information provided here. I wanted to get started with a cloud storage start up I heard about that I thought was interesting (Wasabi Technologies) and has been featured in the Boston Globe. Unfortunately, what I have written keeps being marked as promotional. Do you have any tips on how to avoid that? Is there enough notable information out there to warrant this page?

Prep 5[edit]

Hi, I removed your image reservation for the pufferfish hook because the image is really dark and monochromatic. I think a different non-bio image should be used here. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 11:39, 18 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

In Template:Did you know/Preparation area 3, you missed out the image that was also approved at Template:Did you know nominations/British Rail Class 700. Can you please put it in. Thanks. Pkbwcgs (talk) 19:17, 19 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not really sure: while an image was approved to go with the hook, just because an image was approved doesn't mean it will be used. It can depend on the what other hooks have been promoted, the quality of the image, and the hook itself. Personally the hook itself sounded more like it could fit in the last slot (the so-called "quirky" slot) rather than the image slot, so I put it there. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 19:55, 19 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

DYK Prep 2 Peter Wilmot-Sitwell[edit]

I think the reviewer was right and the best hook is Alt 1 "beautiful but utterly useless" which would go well in the last spot. Could you move it please, or hold over until that spot is available? Thanks. Philafrenzy (talk) 08:00, 23 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Philafrenzy: You should ask Cwmhiraeth since she was the one who swapped the hook. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 08:02, 23 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Cwmhiraeth: Philafrenzy (talk) 08:06, 23 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Philafrenzy: I changed the hook rather than returning the article to the nominations page because Peter Wilmot-Sitwell died last month (thus the article is almost a BLP) and I thought the hook was unduly negative. Looking at the article, I could see he was a considerable figure in the city and to have a hook stating he was "beautiful but utterly useless" seemed entirely wrong to me. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 08:48, 23 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I think it would be fine. It's not intended to be negative. He was the source of the phrase and was making a joke at his own expense. The Times headed their obit "Self-deprecating gentleman banker...". It's also about a group of people, not just him. Anyone clicking on it would quickly see that he wasn't useless at all. I can't say whether he was beautiful in his youth! It would fit perfectly at the end, where a joke is expected, unlike the one there at the moment. Philafrenzy (talk) 12:23, 23 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have to agree with the arguments put forward by Philafrenzy. This appears to be yet another instance where a perfectly good hook has been replaced with one which is arguably not "interesting to a broad audience", per WP:DYKRULES. Edwardx (talk) 13:18, 23 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have copied this discussion to the DYK talk page. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:47, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Puella Magi Madoka Magica[edit]

Narutolovehinata5, this nomination has been stalled for quite a while. As you have notability concerns, the standard way to settle them is to bring the article to AfD; if the person is not sufficiently notable, the article will be deleted, and the DYK nomination will be moot. There really isn't any other good way, and the nomination will probably continue sitting there unless a definitive step is taken. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 19:09, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

NPR Newsletter No.12 30 July 2018[edit]

Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. (Purge)

Hello Narutolovehinata5/Archives, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

June backlog drive

Overall the June backlog drive was a success, reducing the last 3,000 or so to below 500. However, as expected, 90% of the patrolling was done by less than 10% of reviewers.
Since the drive closed, the backlog has begun to rise sharply again and is back up to nearly 1,400 already. Please help reduce this total and keep it from raising further by reviewing some articles each day.

New technology, new rules
  • New features are shortly going to be added to the Special:NewPagesFeed which include a list of drafts for review, OTRS flags for COPYVIO, and more granular filter preferences. More details can be found at this page.
  • Probationary permissions: Now that PERM has been configured to allow expiry dates to all minor user rights, new NPR flag holders may sometimes be limited in the first instance to 6 months during which their work will be assessed for both quality and quantity of their reviews. This will allow admins to accord the right in borderline cases rather than make a flat out rejection.
  • Current reviewers who have had the flag for longer than 6 months but have not used the permissions since they were granted will have the flag removed, but may still request to have it granted again in the future, subject to the same probationary period, if they wish to become an active reviewer.
Editathons
  • Editathons will continue through August. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
The Signpost
  • The next issue of the monthly magazine will be out soon. The newspaper is an excellent way to stay up to date with news and new developments between our newsletters. If you have special messages to be published, or if you would like to submit an article (one about NPR perhaps?), don't hesitate to contact the editorial team here.

Your GA nomination of Shiena Nishizawa[edit]

The article Shiena Nishizawa you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Shiena Nishizawa for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. Thank you for sticking by that article. I should have had a bit more patience. I'll try to find another article to help along or defend to balance out my karma › Mortee talk 23:33, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was just wondering about a comment you made on "Did you know nominations/Take a Knee, My Ass (I Won't Take a Knee)":

"Anti-protest songs do generally attempt to "bring people together" so it's not unusual"

Do you have any examples? I'm only aware of a few anti-protest songs and they are all completely dismissive of the protestors' concerns/values and don't do anything to bridge their concerns to unity with the anti-protestors, so I'm curious what you're referencing. Thanks! Mightfo (talk) 23:38, 21 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Mightfo: Well the song Imagine counts right? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:59, 21 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) Mightfo, questioning a Did You Know comment when the DYK's already live is a surprising first edit. What happened there? An odd coincidence that it's under an unrelated message of mine, given that I was the one that ticked that DYK. Narutolovehinata5, sorry for barging in here, I just still have this page on my watchlist from posting the earlier message, and found this a little eerie. (Imagine is a great example) › Mortee talk 00:09, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@mortee I wasn't questioning the nomination. I was just curious about the suggestion since i wasn't aware of anti-protest songs that I would classify that way. It was purely personal curiosity regarding parts of culture I have not been exposed to. I'm sorry if I broke some sort of rule- I just wanted to know about this, so I just tried to ask the person as directly as wikipedia seems to let me...

And sorry for putting it under your section on here, I got confused..it said "Please click here to leave me a new message." so I assumed that would automatically format it under a unique section.

@Narutolovehinata5 I also don't see how Lennon's Imagine qualifies as a anti-protest song at all? It isn't reactionary in politics, doesn't talk against specific protests, etc... It's pretty much a protest song, not anti-protest. Apologies if there's been some sort of misunderstanding. Mightfo (talk) 02:53, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Mightfo: oh no, you certainly didn't break any rule. Sorry if I made it seem that way. I was just surprised because comments on DYK nominations aren't very visible so it's unusual to see new users engaging with them, and it was a surprising coincidence that your comment about a nomination I was involved with came right under my message about a different one. I was only curious. I hope you enjoy Wikipedia. If you start editing articles and would like any help, feel free to ask me any questions you have. › Mortee talk 14:47, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A couple things I noticed while looking at some of your recent reviews:

  • Gregory Lettieri; You might have missed that this was previously an AfD. Might I suggest installing User:Writ Keeper/Scripts/deletionFinder.js, it creates links next to the title of each page which notify you if it has been previously deleted or nominated for deletion.
  • Manase Fainu; even if a page qualifies for an SNG (in this case WP:RLN) It should still be tagged for needing additional citations when there are less than two good sources.

Prep promotions[edit]

Hi, please remember to look at the talk page before you promote an article to the prep set. It should have some kind of rating, even if only one WikiProject, and it should not be rated a stub. The article you just promoted, Helen Woodrow Bones, has no ratings at all. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 01:37, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Noted. I've just done the assessments myself. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:41, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Do you realize that the article is a translation? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:36, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Like I implied in the review, I admit that I don't know much about the topic and would rather defer the review to someone more knowledgeable. With that said, while my concern was addressed in the context of whether or not it's common, I'm still not sure if it could work as a hook. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 20:43, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It was approved by someone who possibly has that better knowledge of the subject, no? - Quite generally: I see a backlog for both GA and FA reviewing, and therefore requesting editors to spend their limited time on second and third DYK reviews is something I don't understand. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:03, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Gerda Arendt, if someone has nominated a DYK, then they can spend the time satisfying the DYK requirements as understood by the reviewer or not. It's entirely up to them how they choose to spend their limited time, but we shouldn't give a free pass to anyone or any article if it doesn't meet standards. The GAN and FAC processes are completely separate, and their backlogs are irrelevant here, unless you're maintaining somehow that time spent on addressing DYK nomination issues is time that would otherwise be devoted to undertaking a GA or FA review, which strikes me as an unlikely scenario. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:32, 16 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I satisfied the requests of the reviewer who aproved. We talk hook quality, afterwards, again. Off to RL. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:16, 16 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

NPR Newsletter No.13 18 September 2018[edit]

Hello Narutolovehinata5/Archives, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

The New Page Feed currently has 2700 unreviewed articles, up from just 500 at the start of July. For a while we were falling behind by an average of about 40 articles per day, but we have stabilised more recently. Please review some articles from the back of the queue if you can (Sort by: 'Oldest' at Special:NewPagesFeed), as we are very close to having articles older than one month.

Project news
As part of this project, the feed will have some larger updates to functionality next month. Specifically, ORES predictions will be built in, which will automatically flag articles for potential issues such as vandalism or spam. Copyright violation detection will also be added to the new page feed. See the projects's talk page for more info.
Other
Moving to Draft and Page Mover
  • Some unsuitable new articles can be best reviewed by moving them to the draft space, but reviewers need to do this carefully and sparingly. It is most useful for topics that look like they might have promise, but where the article as written would be unlikely to survive AfD. If the article can be easily fixed, or if the only issue is a lack of sourcing that is easily accessible, tagging or adding sources yourself is preferable. If sources do not appear to be available and the topic does not appear to be notable, tagging for deletion is preferable (PROD/AfD/CSD as appropriate). See additional guidance at WP:DRAFTIFY.
  • If the user moves the draft back to mainspace, or recreates it in mainspace, please do not re-draftify the article (although swapping it to maintain the page history may be advisable in the case of copy-paste moves). AfC is optional except for editors with a clear conflict of interest.
  • Articles that have been created in contravention of our paid-editing-requirements or written from a blatant NPOV perspective, or by authors with a clear COI might also be draftified at discretion.
  • The best tool for draftification is User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js(info). Kindly adapt the text in the dialogue-pop-up as necessary (the default can also be changed like this). Note that if you do not have the Page Mover userright, the redirect from main will be automatically tagged as CSD R2, but in some cases it might be better to make this a redirect to a different page instead.
  • The Page Mover userright can be useful for New Page Reviewers; occasionally page swapping is needed during NPR activities, and it helps avoid excessive R2 nominations which must be processed by admins. Note that the Page Mover userright has higher requirements than the NPR userright, and is generally given to users active at Requested Moves. Only reviewers who are very experienced and are also very active reviewers are likely to be granted it solely for NPP activities.
List of other useful scripts for New Page Reviewing

  • Twinkle provides a lot of the same functionality as the page curation tools, and some reviewers prefer to use the Twinkle tools for some/all tasks. It can be activated simply in the gadgets section of 'preferences'. There are also a lot of options available at the Twinkle preferences panel after you install the gadget.
  • In terms of other gadgets for NPR, HotCat is worth turning on. It allows you to easily add, remove, and change categories on a page, with name suggestions.
  • MoreMenu also adds a bunch of very useful links for diagnosing and fixing page issues.
  • User:Equazcion/ScriptInstaller.js(info): Installing scripts doesn't have to be complicated. Go to your common.js and copy importScript( 'User:Equazcion/ScriptInstaller.js' ); into an empty line, now you can install all other scripts with the click of a button from the script page! (Note you need to be at the ".js" page for the script for the install button to appear, not the information page)
  • User:TheJosh/Scripts/NewPagePatrol.js(info): Creates a scrolling new pages list at the left side of the page. You can change the number of pages shown by adding the following to the next line on your common.js page (immediately after the line importing this script): npp_num_pages=20; (Recommended 20, but you can use any number from 1 to 50).
  • User:Primefac/revdel.js(info): Is requesting revdel complicated and time consuming? This script helps simplify the process. Just have the Copyvio source URL and go to the history page and collect your diff IDs and you can drop them into the script Popups and it will create a revdel request for you.
  • User:Lourdes/PageCuration.js(info): Creates a "Page Curation" link to Special:NewPagesFeed up near your sandbox link.
  • User:Writ Keeper/Scripts/deletionFinder.js: Creates links next to the title of each page which show up if it has been previously deleted or nominated for deletion.
  • User:Evad37/rater.js(info): A fantastic tool for adding WikiProject templates to article talk pages. If you add: rater_autostartNamespaces = 0; to the next line on your common.js, the prompt will pop up automatically if a page has no Wikiproject templates on the talk page (note: this can be a bit annoying if you review redirects or dab pages commonly).

Article Feedback: Draft:Sterling Media[edit]

Hello Narutolovehinata5,

Thank you for previously giving feedback on my draft articles Draft:Sterling Media. Since then and with the help of other users, I have greatly edited the page to better fit Wiki's standards.

Some months on now, I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a look at the revised article and let me know if you feel it is acceptable for approval or if you have further feedback?

Kind regards, DAL123 (talk) 08:50, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@DAL123: The draft looks better now, but I'm concerned that the article text still feels like a promotional piece. In addition, the article seems to focus more on the company's clients and programs as opposed to the history of the company itself. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:07, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As of 21 October 2018, there are 3650 unreviewed articles and the backlog now stretches back 51 days.

Community Wishlist Proposal
Project updates
  • ORES predictions are now built-in to the feed. These automatically predict the class of an article as well as whether it may be spam, vandalism, or an attack page, and can be filtered by these criteria now allowing reviewers to better target articles that they prefer to review.
  • There are now tools being tested to automatically detect copyright violations in the feed. This detector may not be accurate all the time, though, so it shouldn't be relied on 100% and will only start working on new revisions to pages, not older pages in the backlog.

Hi Narutolovehinata5,

First of all, thanks for all your hard work on Wikipedia.

I just finished reviewing your DYK nomination for Sumika (band), and everything looks fine. I found the following sentences a bit confusing, however:

The original members were Kenta Kataoka, Junnosuke Kuroda, and Tomoyuki Arai; Takayuki Ogawa, who had previously performed with the group as a guest member, later joined the group full-time in 2015.

I would suggest making this into 2 sentences instead of using a semicolon, as it reads somewhat awkwardly, particularly with the citation in the middle. I also think the word "later" is redundant with the current wording. Do you think it would be better changed to:

The original members were Kenta Kataoka, Junnosuke Kuroda, and Tomoyuki Arai. Takayuki Ogawa, who had previously performed with the group as a guest member, joined the group full-time in 2015.

I didn't want to make the change myself in case I'm not reading it correctly.

Thanks again, Ry's the Guy (talk|contribs) 10:24, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Rystheguy: I think you're free to make the change yourself, if you find the wording problematic. Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 10:49, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Zombie Land Saga - Character entry for Lily[edit]

I have no problem with changing my edit, but if the official site does provide that info, plz add it to her entry with a source reference, as she is the odd man out, being only character whose time period is not specified in the anime. The notation regarding her homepage question should then be removed, as it has no significance by itself, and I only added it to give context to her otherwise unknown time period ("unknown" from the anime's standpoint anyway). If this proposal does not make it into the top ten, it is likely that the tools will be given no support at all for the foreseeable future. So please put in a vote today.
We are counting on significant support not only from our own ranks, but from everyone who is concerned with maintaining a Wikipedia that is free of vandalism, promotion, flagrant financial exploitation and other pollution.
With all 650 reviewers voting for these urgently needed improvements, our requests would be unlikely to fail. See also The Signpost Special report: 'NPP: This could be heaven or this could be hell for new users – and for the reviewers', and if you are not sure what the wish list is all about, take a sneak peek at an article in this month's upcoming issue of The Signpost which unfortunately due to staff holidays and an impending US holiday will probably not be published until after voting has closed.

Your GA nomination of Eir Aoi[edit]

The article Eir Aoi you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Eir Aoi for comments about the article. Well done! DYK nomination of Hina Kino[edit]

Hello! Your submission of Hina Kino at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Yoninah (talk) 00:07, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Do you want me to reopen the template so you can suggest something better? Yoninah (talk) 22:17, 2 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, never mind. I see it was up on the main page for a while and actually got 1,900 views! Yoninah (talk) 22:18, 2 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Yoninah: To be honest, I don't really care. To be honest, I kind of wanted to withdraw the nomination anyway, I just wanted to salvage the work I did in some way and didn't want to see a nomination of mine fail. This was a valuable lesson for me in any case and it will make me more careful in choosing what stuff to nominate. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 22:44, 2 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

DYK question[edit]

I see Margaret Sibella Brown was promoted to Template:Did you know/Preparation area 1, but apparently without the image. I was hoping the image would be included. How does that work? -- RoySmith (talk) 03:00, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@RoySmith: It's up to the promoter whether or not an image is used. Just because a nomination has an image doesn't necessarily mean it will be used: it depends on factors such as appropriateness or image quality (particularly at low resolutions). Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 03:16, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Eir Aoi[edit]

As I was putting your special occasion hook in the November 30 prep with the image, Yoninah put a different hook in that slot and we got in an edit conflict. Sorry. SL93 (talk) 01:00, 25 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@SL93: It's okay. Actually you can discuss with Yoninah if you want it to go up with the image, but personally I'm fine either way. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 07:34, 25 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Hina Kino[edit]

On 27 November 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Hina Kino, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Hina Kino, who became a voice actress after her third year of senior high school, practiced "rigorously" for her first role? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Hina Kino. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Hina Kino), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Eir Aoi. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Eir Aoi), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Sorry[edit]

Sorry for how I acted on the Rosalie Housman DYK. I understand if you don't want to finish the review. SL93 (talk) 02:27, 30 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's okay, I understand what you were going through (I myself had to see one of my hooks pulled two days prior). I've not actually abandoned the review, I've just been busy with other real-life matters. I'll get back to the review by the end of this weekend. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:38, 30 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I added two alts, one is an expansion of the original hook and the other is a new fact that I added to the article. SL93 (talk) 17:04, 3 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Red[edit]

Hi there, Narutolovehinata5, and welcome to Women in Red. I'm really impressed by the number of biographies you have been writing on Japanese singers and actresses. I hope there will be many more. I don't know how much we can help you with images but I can mention your interest on our WiR talk page. There might be some offers. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 12:18, 3 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the welcome Ipigott. Getting free images of Japanese anime personalities (male and female) is very difficult, and it doesn't help that, unlike pretty much any other entertainment industry I can think of, photography of celebrities, even in public events, is usually prohibited. As someone who regularly goes to Japanese pop-culture events, I can personally attest to this. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:37, 3 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps you can write to them and ask if they have a photograph you can use to illustrate their article on Wikipedia. I have had some (limited) success along these lines, although I don't write many bios of living people. After all, Wikipedia is usually the first port of call for people who want more information about budding celebrities.--Ipigott (talk) 12:47, 3 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ipigott: I've actually done precisely that: I've tried sending e-mails to various anime events they've been to, but responses have been in the negative so far. Actually, I have had some success in getting permission (examples are articles on Mami Kawada, Garnidelia, and Shiena Nishizawa, among others), but in the case of Suzuki, I feel like I'm running out of options and honestly this has become very frustrating. DYK for Sumika (band)[edit]

On 11 December 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Sumika (band), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Sumika (band). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Sumika (band)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. I wasn't aware that the editor was a student editor, but in any case, I felt that regardless, no expansion or even hooks were forthcoming anyway. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:58, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

NPR Newsletter No.16 15 December 2018[edit]

Hello Narutolovehinata5/Archives,

Reviewer of the Year

This year's award for the Reviewer of the Year goes to Onel5969. Around on Wikipedia since 2011, their staggering number of 26,554 reviews over the past twelve months makes them, together with an additional total of 275,285 edits, one of Wikipedia's most prolific users.

Thanks are also extended for their work to JTtheOG (15,059 reviews), Boleyn (12,760 reviews), Cwmhiraeth (9,001 reviews), Semmendinger (8,440 reviews), PRehse (8,092 reviews), Arthistorian1977 (5,306 reviews), Abishe (4,153 reviews), Barkeep49 (4,016 reviews), and Elmidae (3,615 reviews).
Cwmhiraeth, Semmendinger, Barkeep49, and Elmidae have been New Page Reviewers for less than a year — Barkeep49 for only seven months, while Boleyn, with an edit count of 250,000 since she joined Wikipedia in 2008, has been a bastion of New Page Patrol for many years.

See also the list of top 100 reviewers.

Less good news, and an appeal for some help

The backlog is now approaching 5,000, and still rising. There are around 640 holders of the NPR flag, most of whom appear to be inactive. The 10% of the reviewers who do 90% of the work could do with some support especially as some of them are now taking a well deserved break.

Really good news - NPR wins the Community Wishlist Survey 2019

At #1 position, the Community Wishlist poll closed on 3 December with a resounding success for NPP, reminding the WMF and the volunteer communities just how critical NPP is to maintaining a clean encyclopedia and the need for improved tools to do it. A big 'thank you' to everyone who supported the NPP proposals. See the results.

Training video

Due to a number of changes having been made to the feed since this three-minute video was created, we have been asked by the WMF for feedback on the video with a view to getting it brought up to date to reflect the new features of the system. Please leave your comments here, particularly mentioning how helpful you find it for new reviewers.

So shed an influence blessing to prove;
Give for the noblest of efforts your pow'rs;
