Legends dab[edit]

Actually, I realized that I don't even know how to structure a discussion about the link issue. The main problem, as I see it, is that 'Legends' is significantly different from 'Legend'. If someone specifically types the former, they get redirected to an article that has nothing to do with what they were looking for, whereas redirecting it to the dab gives them a gateway to get where they want to go. Its an ease of use thing. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 18:54, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Hani (producer), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lolita (singer). Thanks for your disambig work[edit]

I wanted to thank you for your disambig work. I know from previous experience that it's not always simple and can be quite repetitive. I'm undoing some of your recent edits because the disambig was caused by a bad move which has since been undone (and a user who didn't bother to move the links when they decided to create a disambig page from an existing page). So, sorry if you see a lot of revert alerts. Thanks, 15zulu (talk) 06:36, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for Montargull (Artesa de Segre)[edit]

Thanks for your suggestions for this article. I just wanted to ask where do you think more inline citations are needed, I think that all of the claims in the article are substantiated by inline citations. The sources are not in English, but that does not make them invalid, in my opinion, and they can be translated with automatic translators if anybody needs to consult them as most of them are online.--Wgarcia (talk) 11:36, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

List of cities, towns, and villages in Mississippi[edit]

Hi, I noticed you helped improve the List of cities, towns, and villages in Mississippi, thanks! I've been trying to clean up these lists for the past few weeks. I'm not sure if you are interested, but I found a source for the incorporation dates which I think would be a nice addition to the list, but it's a very tedious task to add them all. I've started with the first one to show formatting, but if you are interested in contributing further, it will help the list reach featured status! Either way, thanks for your help you've given already. Mattximus (talk) 14:42, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

Scale of justice 2.svg Hello, Natg 19. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tanbe10[edit]

While there were no delete votes none of the keep votes were based in policy, that is why it has been open for so long. Please consider Wikipedia content policies and the arguments made and consider whether you think your close should stand. Thank you. JbhTalk 20:07, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

Ok, I can reopen the AFD and let an admin close, if you object to its closure. Natg 19 (talk) 20:09, 2 December 2016 (UTC)
Thank you. It will likely end up Keep or, because of lack of policy based Keeps as No Consensus but I do want to see how an admin closes it particularly since they have bypassed it for a month. The participation level there is unusually low, the nom (me), the author, an IP editor who seems to have only participated at AfDs and one editor who wants to assume they pass NBAND.

Thank you for the work you do at AfD. Please do not see my request as a slight on your work or judgement, none is intended. JbhTalk 20:20, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

Closures[edit]

Hi, I wonder if you would not mind un-closing the AfD Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Beth Hood (2nd nomination) and similar? I see that there are four votes for "delete" and only one as "redirect". I do not see a consensus there for a redirect, but for a delete. Or they could be re-closed as "delete" and CSD tags placed on the articles for an admin to delete them. K.e.coffman (talk) 18:20, 20 December 2016 (UTC)

Ok, I can do that. I was just closing as redirect as an alternative to deletion. Natg 19 (talk) 18:24, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
Thanks. I tend to err on the side of caution for BLPs. It's best to get them deleted since they've got that far in the deletion process. K.e.coffman (talk) 18:29, 20 December 2016 (UTC)

World Cup result-when it says Crystal globes in Combined have not been officially awarded for 2013 season. However, athletes still get their medals. New Barnstar.[edit]

Hello Natg_19, I’m sending you this message, as I have noticed that you made a contribution to the article St Johns, Worcester, and I decided, that for you it can be interesting to have a look at a new Worcestershire Barnstar, which I designed just a couple of days ago for a very good, but not very active at the moment Worcestershire Project (WP:WORCS) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Worcestershire I think, that the Project of the rich in history Worcestershire (as soon, as British weather will become a bit nicer, I’m planning to visit the Archaeological sites of Worcestershire, make good photos and then to start an article about Archaeological findings of Worcestershire) deserves to have its own symbol, what will also work as momentum of positive energy, helping to make it more lively; so, as a participant of the Wikipedia Awards Project, I decided to create WORCS Barnstar, using as the central motive emblem, used even in ancient times — by Worcestershire units at the Battle of Agincour; now this symbol - county's famed black pear - also decorates the Flag of Worcestershire. So, it will be very kind of you, if you will have a look at the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Wikipedia_Awards and give your support to the Worcestershire Barnstar, if you will like it. Your participation will be highly appreciated. Thank you. Regards, Chris Oxford.Chris Oxford (talk) 22:19, 5 March 2017 (UTC)

K. J. Hippensteel[edit]

Apologies, I forgot that. I don't think that all of those tasks are necessary though and the ones which are needed have been done. It isn't usual practice to delete redirects following page moves unless the redirect is somehow problematic. It might be that someone outside Wikipedia has linked to the page K. J. Hippensteel (tennis) and by deleting the redirect we would break that link for no particular reason. I also don't see any need to repoint all the links unless the page about the tennis player gets moved again. The fact that a link points to a redirect rather than the page itself isn't really a problem. Hut 8.5 06:35, 11 July 2017 (UTC)

Lutontownfc Sandbox[edit]

You deleted the Sandbox I worked so hard on. I put almost everything that came into my head into that Sandbox, such as imaginary people, characters, boxers and plans for a story. Now it has been deleted, I'd like to find a way to have this page back. I never intended to move the page to this mainspace you speak of, I just wanted to change the name of the Sandbox. I don't think you even have the right to delete some drafts for pages I never even intended to make. That was private content that I never wanted others to view. I demand that you get my Sandbox back, no matter what!

Hi Lutontownfc, sorry about the deletion. "Mainspace" means the public, searchable areas of Wikipedia. If you wanted the content to be private, you should make the page a draft article, or a sandbox page in your Userspace, like User:Natg_19/sandbox.

I will help you to recover the page here: Wikipedia:Requests_for_undeletion#Lutontownfc_Sandbox

Thanks, Natg 19 (talk) 01:44, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

@Lutontownfc:, the page has been restored here: User:Lutontownfc/Sandbox. Thanks, Natg 19 (talk) 05:45, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Lutotownfc Sandbox 2[edit]

I'd like to have an update on when my Sandbox will actually be usable. The link you gave still leads to a blank page, and all my hard work is all gone. PLEASE bring my Sandbox back! You don't understand how much work I put into this. PLEASE!

Hi @Lutontownfc: this is out of my control, as I am not an administrator and did not delete your sandbox and I cannot "undelete" your sandbox. (I asked for it to be deleted originally as I thought it should not have been public, but I did not do the actual deletion.) According to @RHaworth: the content of your sandbox was a violation of Wikipedia policy, so it is not allowed on Wikipedia. As he said in his reply here, you can ask him nicely, and he will email you the contents of the page. Natg 19 (talk) 21:27, 28 July 2017 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Pieology[edit]

Hello, Natg 19. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Pieology".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 03:50, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

Juan Alvarado[edit]

You recently turned Juan Alvarado into a dab page. Given that over 100 articles link to Juan Alvarado and that most of them appear to refer to the governor of California, the other Juan Alvarados might better be listed at Juan Alvarado (disambiguation), or else a lot of articles will no longer link to the correct target. --Animalparty! WP:UPT and post-move cleanup.[edit]

Hello. When you move a page to a new name to create a disambiguation page, as you did at Cynthia Coffman, please always try to fix incoming links per WP:UPT to keep Wikipedia articles intact: If you do decide to boldly usurp a title, it is strongly recommended that you modify all pages that link to the old title so they will link to the new title. To do this, while on the new page bearing the old title, click on "what links here" below "toolbox" on the left. This will list all the pages linking to the old title. Once you reach this list, edit each of these pages and modify the links to the new title of the old page.

Special:WhatLinksHere/Cynthia_Coffman shows a fairly manageable list of incoming links (articles, portal pages, and books are priority): some articles may have hundreds. Thank you. --Animalparty! (talk) 04:34, 7 March 2018 (UTC)

August 2005 in sports[edit]

Hi. I came across August 2005 in sports while working through the Category:Articles to be merged after an Articles for deletion discussion backlog. I have no problems with your close as far as the discussion went, but there are some major practical issues with the close. Completing the merge is going to be a big undertaking as it will involve sorting each event from day into sport as the two lists are set up differently. Not to mention the sheer volume. Add to that the AFD was a test case for other similar articles which means that there are over 100 articles which potentially should be merged. This will be a massive time sink. Considering that one of the merge !votes was a sock and the other comment outlines my concerns would you consider changing the close. I know it was a long time ago, but I don't think there would be any issue with relisting it. If not I will be happy to take it to deletion review. AIRcorn (talk) 22:33, 18 March 2018 (UTC)

Hi, Aircorn, I do not exactly remember why I closed this as merge back then and I understand your rationale. However, I do not think it is appropriate to relist an AFD from more than 1 year ago, so I think deletion review is the proper place for the discussion on this. Thanks, Natg 19 (talk) 05:56, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
No problem. Had to come to you first anyway. Will ping you there so you can say your piece. AIRcorn (talk) 08:34, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

Re: Move from (Marvel Comics) to (comics)[edit]

Please note that the move you recently did was incorrect. Per WP:NCCDAB, the (comics) disambiguation is only to be used for comic books and not characters. Characters would use (character), but per WP:CRITERIA they are generally moved to (Marvel Comics) or (DC Comics), etc. Please revert your move when you get the chance.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 17:47, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

Reply[edit]

@Zxcvbnm:, thank you for your comment. I can see that the (comics) disambiguation is discouraged.

However, I don't understand how the "Marvel Comics" or "DC Comics" disambiguation is correct. From what I can see, both of these subjects exist in either the Marvel universe or the DC universe (not both), so extra disambiguation is unnecessary. From the naming convention at Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(comics)#Between_characters_of_different_publishers, it says to use the publisher name if the character name has been used by multiple publishers.

Therefore, I believe that U.S. Agent (comics), should be moved to "U.S. Agent (character)" instead. I am not sure where Kandor (comics) should be moved to, as it is a world / planet in a comics universe. From what I can see, it could be kept as is, as there is an article Krypton (comics).

Thanks, Natg 19 (talk) 06:22, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

Given WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES it is unlikely that any of these pages will meet notability and so the link to the school district is where people would be directed anyway and is thus sufficient. I will not be monitoring this page so if you'd like to discuss further please ping me here or leave a message on my talk page. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 23:10, 25 April 2018 (UTC)

Thanks, @Barkeep49:, that makes sense to me. Natg 19 (talk) 23:45, 25 April 2018 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Richard Adams (Traidcraft)[edit]

Hello, Natg 19. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Richard Adams (Traidcraft), for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Richard Adams (Traidcraft) to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks,

  • @Kudpung:, thanks for letting me know. However, I didn't start this article. I accidentally copied the content back in after moving it. The full history of the article is at Richard Adams (businessman). I'll move your proposed deletion over to the correct article. Natg 19 (talk) 06:51, 6 May 2018 (UTC)
