[edit]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to User: BluWare, you will be blocked from editing.

Dear NawlinWiki, Yesterday morning I was working on an article in my sandbox. Ten minutes after I saved it to see how it looked I got a speedy deletion banner on it. Less than five minutes later it was deleted. Just by briefly glancing at your talk page, I could see that many other people have had similar problems. Just in case you didn't know, deleting content from someones userpage is considered vandalism, and committing blatant vandalism violates Wikipedia policy. Administrators like yourself are supposed to improve Wikipedia, not vandalize it. If you do not stop, I may be forced to take more drastic action, eventually resulting in a permanent ban. Thanks, BluWare

P.S. About those personal attacks on my userpage, I was just kind of angry, I mean you deleted those articles I had been working on for weeks! But I probably shouldn't have done that, so sorry. If you want to contact me, e- mail me at rutfar@ecaschool.org

Speedy deletion of Dabmir

[edit]

In response to Dabmirs deletion: I was in the middle of making it NOT blatant advertising. If you had read my side note at the bottom. It was going to take some time though before I could do that because I had to leave temporarily and get more information from its creator. I wasn't going to just leave it at plain downright advertising. Also, if you checked the site it would not make sense to advertise a page with no game, I was going to describe everything just like a lot of other pages for online games have done. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GraBug (talkcontribs) 00:53, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Dryco Energi

[edit]

I am not affiliated with Dryco Energi and wrote the article because I wrote a article about their process Biomasster, which in the time of global warming is an interesting process. More over i had a clearly neutral tone. Because I have not broken any terms I hope its OK if i revert it. Re: Speedy Deletion of SHARPcast

[edit]

However, I did cite the podcast's official website (all the information could be found there, they used a domain mask so I cannot browse to the individual pages and give the full URL). Also, I did have the under construction tag so even if I didn't have it on the exact moment it was tagged, I definitely put it on very shortly and the people tagging should have at least checked back, if that was the case. I do not think this is fair especially if you are new and forgot to put on Resources within one second of creating a new page. I am sorry if I sound rude, I really do not mean it, I'm just a little frustrated at the moment.

Anyways, I guess I will put that behind me for now. Is there a way of restoring the page without having to type every single word again, if I am allowed to put it up again?Hgzl (talk) 11:42, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

it is a valid page deleteing it 10 mintues after I start it is not right.

it needs months to grow and mature with contributions.

I'm starting a new page called wikifascism also;

You COULDN'T BE MORE WRONG THAT THE article is contentless. If you are not in fundamental leaded edge physics; then don't kill what do you don't understand.

I have some references laying around here that I am trying to dig up.

Other people have too.

In anycase, what is wrong with starting a "shell" article for people to fill in the relevant info that they know when the topic needs to be added

I.e. start Presidents of US

1. George Washington 2. unfinished...

See also my new article wikifascism which you will probably delete if you haven't already.

Good evening, NawlinWiki.

I am new to this, and am trying to post an article for a recording artist. I want it to follow the same format as Rihanna, Beyonce, etc.

I attempted, but failed, getting a message of Blatant Advertising.

This is NOT an advertisement, and I am eager to learn how to post this article properly.

We have disographys, sites, biographies, documentaries, etc.

Therefore I would like to submit a request for this page to be re-established.

Thank you for your time and God bless! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lrwpromo (talkcontribs) 04:31, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

we have a rather detailed discussion on the Pinball page regarding what does or does not belong in the "Links" section. We also have a few overzealous editors who are completely removing the whole links set stating that WP:NOT a respository of links, without joining in the discussion that's already taking place on that topic. It's actually gone on for a number of months, but has recently been a bit more aggressive. Can you offer some insight or advice as to how you think the repository of links policy would apply to that page after reading the discussion points? Thx. Speedy deletion of Pauline Khan

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Pauline Khan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Bullcrank

[edit]

The question of notoriety is always a bit of a gray one. I am curious how an independent film group that has worked with several people with large numbers of film credits doesn't warrant being notable enough. If it is just a matter of providing even more citations, I will do so. Among the people who Bullcrank has worked with include Lloyd Kaufman, "Big" Chuck Schodowski, Paul Molnar (make up artist on Narnia), and more. The group has also won awards from film festivals and Film Threat. Perhaps we jumped the gun and should have focussed more on the initial page before fanning out. Let me know soon. Thanks.

Hi NawlinWiki,

I just received the following message when trying to create a new entry in Wikipedia:

The article Rewpart gap has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

I'm a new contributor so please bear with me as I try to understand and honor the rules of the Wikipedia community.

I'm in the process of publishing an original techno-thriller on Amazon's new Kindle electronic-book platform. Throughout the novel, I provide hyperlinks to Wikipedia articles that shed light on technical concepts contained within the book. I’m hoping this will add value to the reader's experience, to be able to look up, on-the-fly, technical concepts that may be new to him or her.

As part of the narrative, I've also invented certain fictionalized technical concepts. It occurred to me that since these concepts are, by definition, new to the reader, it might add even more value to provide a hyperlink to a Wikipedia article that explains in greater depth just what those concepts mean. This allows me, and an author, to provide more information to curious readers without interrupting the flow of the narrative.

My gut tells me this is an interesting new way to add value to the reader's experience of an electronic book, something that can't be done via a printed book. But I may be in violation of Wikipedia guidelines in doing this because no independent source is able to verify that such entries are notable because the book hasn’t yet been published. But to include the hyperlinks in the electronic edition, I have to create them in Wikipedia first, before that edition is published. So I have a chicken and egg problem.

I value Wikipedia beyond any other reference I've ever encountered. I use it extensively for research for my writing (and so credit it in the Acknowledgments in my novel). I also use it extensively when I'm reading (that's really how I first became interested in the Kindle, because it provides built-in, free, wireless broadband access to Wikipedia).

Is there a way I can provide Wikipedia articles about concepts introduced in my writing before that writing is published?

Best regards,

Keith Ellis —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnthunder (talkcontribs) 18:52, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello NawlinWiki

Why have you removed the db-nonsense tag you removed from Beacon Hill, Colkirk, Norfolk. I suggest that you look at Beacon Hill, Norfolk to see why I tagged the article. I live not three miles away from the hill and the first article is confusing the issue as far as the highest point in Norfolk. Team White Hot

[edit]

This could start a new section in Wikipedia with all of the different Distributed Computing Teams, it would be a nice addition to the Wikipedia library by having all the old and new teams listed in one area with the various stats and accomplishments. Every team has different accomplishments by the amount of work units it has completed. It should be allowed for us to post it for everyone to see and actually get to understand what each team is about and what they contribute to the world to help everyone out. There are millions of people interested in distributed computing around the world, based upon the number of PS3's doing Folding@Home and also the numerous amounts of PS3's running Yellow Dog linux to run Distributed.net.

NawlinWiki,

My page I am creating for Mike McCracken has been repeadetly deleted by you within minutes of its creation with threats of banning me from Wikipedia. The were also sarcastic comments about the first line of information added. This is a legitimate article I would like to write however I am fairly new to Wikipedia. I do not plan on "wasting time with bogus information" I am only a slow editor as I learn the ways of this great site. Please allow my page to stay under construction so I may gather all the neccessary references and relevant, important information and then follow through and complete the page.

No disrespect meant here I was just suprised that over the course of just a few minutes the page has been deleted several times. I would very much like to contribute and claim stake to an article for Mike McCracken and leave it under construction for just a short while so information can be compiled.

I think I speak for most in the Wiki community by saying that your role is an important one for this site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nra4ever5585 (talkcontribs) 19:56, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nawlin, I don't agree with your deletion of my article on a local charity. This is a young up and coming charity that sponsors needy children and does a lot of community work. Will do thanks for the input (I legitimately did not think that putting the article up would be a big deal as long as I mentioned within the talk back that it was still in progress) However, I know that this is no longer the case and will work on not angering the community in the future. The thing I've been having trouble with specifically is the notability requirement. I have sources, I just need to know how to cite them correctly. ThanksStuartfost (talk) 19:11, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

From tmm87--I created a page on Luke Harangody, a star college basketball player for the Notre Dame fighting Irish this year. You said that he may not be notable. However, he was the big east's 2008 player of the year, and he led his team to the second round of the NCAA tournament as their leading scorer and rebounder. He has been discussed on ESPN and other sports sources. I think it's fair to say he's significant enough to have a page, seeing as Joe Alexander of the West Virginia Mountaineers, Levance Fields of the Pittsburgh Panthers, and others have pages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tmm87 (talkcontribs) 19:25, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of the super8 diaries project

[edit]

this article on Melbourne culture refers to my project. why you chose to delete me is beyond me.

Melbourne also has a successful independent music industry. A variety of factors — including a relative abundance of venues and independent labels, a thriving street press and strong support from community radio (such as PBS and 3RRR) — have made the city an attractive base for both homegrown artists and those from around the country.[neutrality disputed][citation needed] Melbourne's independent music industry has been the subject of two documentary films, Sticky Carpet in 2006 and the independent DIY film Super8 Diaries Project in 2008.

Deletion Zsweet

[edit]

I am inquiring as to why the page I was creating about Zsweet all natural zero calorie sweetener was deleted? I work for Zsweet, Inc. and every day I receive emails and telephone calls from people who are not familiar with Zsweet, or erythritol, it's main ingredient which is a sugar alcohol or polyol; all of which are featured on other pages of Wikipedia. To most people erythritol sounds like an artificial chemical and because so many diabetics and people with sugar related health issues must rely on sugar alternatives, they are wary of ingredients they are unfamiliar with. Wikipedia should be a reliable resource for the general public who want to educate themselves on the ingredients of the foods they eat and the history of the companies that produce these foods.

I had not posted any kind of advertisement on the Zsweet page, I did not put a link to our Zsweet.com store or mention our promotions or retailers, and yet my page was deleted.

Can you please instruct me on how to create a Zsweet page in Wikipedia that will not be deleted as I am overwhelmed with phone calls and emails from people who want explanations about our product, and I intended to have our page link to the other pages about erythritol, polyols, sugar alcohol, FDA, GRAS and so on that would help people find the info they need all in one convenient place.

Thank you. --Brianazsweet (talk) 22:50, 26 March 2008 (UTC)Briana Adams[reply]

==Response from Zsweet==

NawlinWiki, thank you for your response. I will attempt to write about Zsweet again and use outside references. I do believe that people want to learn about our product as it affects many people suffering from various health issues and they need Wikipedia as a resource. As you'll notice I didn't post our 800# or our website, so there was no advertising. The statement I made about Zsweet eliminating the aftertaste of plain erythritol is an important piece of information for people who don't understand the difference between the two products.

Personally, I am bombarded with calls and emails about Zsweet and erythritol and I thought this would be the best way for people to get a second opinion about Zsweet and be able to jump over to other pages like sugar alcohol, erythritol, polyol, zero net carbohydrates and so forth so people can fully educate themselves on a product that is new and unfamiliar to most people.

I will do my best to try to format a page that does not conflict with Wik's guidelines. --Brianazsweet (talk) 17:29, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am curious, what happened with the above article? I see you speedy deleted it, and then restored it to redirect. Then the redirect was deleted. Speedy deletion of Nowheristan

[edit]

Hello NawlinWiki. You have extremely-speedily deleted my article Nowheristan. I realize it was a repost. However, many things were amended in it to make it suitable. It was no longer presented as a country with a countrybox; instead I put it in the Micronations and Utopias categories. I changed its introduction which was previously written in a non-encyclopedic style. I added a recent press article to the external links. I is extremely frustrating for an article writer to see their work deleted in just minutes, without warning or debating. This would only be acceptable for vandalism. What if I had given my article another title like "The Great Empire of Nowheristan" instead of "Nowheristan". Would you have taken more time to read it before deleting it? It would not have appeared to you as a repost in the frist place right? I believe this article does belong in Wikipedia after the modifications I brought to it. Please tell me if it requires additional modifications and I will apply them in the best way I can or even ask for help. But please don't treat it as vandalism. Thank you. Re: Strawberry Shortcake (sex act)

[edit]

Hi,

What has been going on in the guide is that random blokes will come in and post about the act. Generally I would delete it, however a recent post regarding such an act in a forum I was in confirms to me that such act is real. I would otherwise generally not know what to do tho. Even tho I've been editing Wikipedia for a few years now. On one hand, the information appears valid as it has been mentioned in a forum and some number of people seems to know what it's about. On the other hand, it's just wrong to put it smack down in the middle of a page about a G-Rated cartoon character, but if I don't move it somewhere else I feel that it's no different from censorship or hiding of information. RAM (talk) 14:58, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply. I guess I could hold it off, but if multiple random IPs keep trying to add the information into the wrong place (i.e. a page about a cartoon character), what does it suggest? Also, I'm not sure of how to correctly handle this, since as I said before, I feel like I'm walking the thin line between censorship and letting wrong things happen to the guide.RAM (talk) 15:03, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted article [HLNAND]

[edit]

Hi NawlinWiki, I noticed that my article about "HLNAND" was speedy-deleted because it was considered as Ad. "HLNAND" is kind of well-known high speed interface in these days, and I believe it's currently one of candidate for the next industry standard for the flash memory area. My article may be considered as similar to other many semiconductor device's interface technology, such as Rambus, PCI-Express, HyperTransport, QuickPath etc. So, please let me have a back-up copy of the deleted article (I didn't copy-&-paste for back-up), then I'll try to edit my original article and re-submit without any impression of ads. Or you can let me know how I can retrieve my original deleted contents in text format. Thanks for your help.

Let's talk about the Zecco.com Article

[edit]

Hi, I'm Greg Comlish from WP:INVESTMENT and I'm trying to improve articles on Investment.

Zecco is a large internet portal with hundreds of thousands of users, far more than Something Awful which has an extensive article. The information on Zecco.com is notable and was provided by three credible sources independent of the subject: Boston Globe, USAToday, and the Motley Fool. Not bad for a stub. I didn't write the article as an advertisement and I'd be happy to have critical information about zecco.com incorporated into the article. I'd be happy to work with you to address any complaints. But you need to work with me and explain yourself with specific critiques rather than reflexively deleting work and making dubious references to a shifting array of Wikipedia policies. Below I have included the article. Please cite the aspect of the work demands immediate removal from Wikipedia. Greg Comlish (talk) 15:22, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Zecco.Com

[edit]

Zecco.com is an American online investor portal. Zecco stands for "Zero Cost Commission". Zecco's stated philosophy was to eliminate commission fees and, indeed, zecco was the first online investing website that allowed for any trades without a commission. Currently Zecco allows for ten free trades a month[10]. Zecco.com was also the first investing website that allows (but does not obligate) users to disclose their portfolios and performance publicly in the user forums[11][12]. In theory this disclosure allows users to seek out high performers with similar objectives. Zecco's Homepage

BCC Research Article Improvement/Update

+Hi, I've tried to improve the article as best I could. But could still use more advice/influence to make sure that I am on the right track. Thanks Stuartfost (talk) 17:47, 27 March 2008 (UTC) +Alright, I have people working for me trying to find independant sources defining what we are. But when you are a corporation who has a PR department, it's difficult to find sources in an interconnected world that hasn't been heavily influenced by your copy. I'm sure this is not the first time that it has happened, and I would like to know how to proceed. I'm just having trouble with the fact that we have to prove notability when we are referenced repeatedly as a "source" in major publications. The problem with this is that we have a strict policy of releasing our information, to the general public due to the nature/expense of the reports. Thus we have press releases, that we can issue or you can call in and speak with our editorial director who can put you in contact with an analyst. Btw, some of those company descriptions are *not* written by our press department. I hope this helps answer a few of your questions. Stuartfost (talk) 19:03, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

+ http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/15/business/yourmoney/15aging.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=%22BCC+research%22&st=nyt&oref=slogin Is this the kind of article you are looking for? Because if so I have hundreds of this type. Stuartfost (talk) 19:07, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

+We are actually a consultant company who create Return on Investment Analysis Reports for our Clients. Is their a reason for the stringency of the notability requirements, because as it currently stands you almost have to hire an outside source to write a non-copy based look at your company. Which while possible, is unecessarily annoying and archaic. Stuartfost (talk) 19:15, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

+I'm glad that you feel that it is your responsibility to prevent that kind of garbage from making it onto the site. A notable effort for sure. But I have a hard time understanding how a company that is sourced in MAJOR publications as a reliable source of information could not be considered notable because we have a PR department. It boggles my mind and frankly is a bit insulting. Stuartfost (talk) 19:24, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

+ http://www.thedailygreen.com/environmental-news/latest/solar-power-business-47010308 The last paragraph describes exactly what you are looking for. Thanks, I hope this clarifies this issue. Stuartfost (talk) 19:49, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Continued blanking of section of Eric Red article

[edit]

Hi. I noticed your earlier reversion of the anonymous vandal, and I just wanted to let you know that he is still at it. I've already reverted him twice today, and he has broken the three-revert rule.

A while ago, there was a discussion on the talk page, and nobody has yet implemented the changes, but there was definite agreement that there should be some mention of the car accident in which Red killed two people. It is a well documented and well sourced incident. The anonymous vandal, who is now trying to claim the statement is libelous, has no leg to stand on. Furthermore, this may be the same vandal who periodically tries to expunge this paragraph from the article. Sullenspice (talk) 21:01, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Paul Guevarra

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Paul Guevarra requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. EJF (talk) 16:11, 28 March 2008 (UTC) [reply]

I mentioned at the top of the page that I was working on it, but you just coudn't wait a few hours for me to finish it. I am annoyed and disgusted that you said it was not worth putting on Wikipedia, as I and many of my peers believe that even just the start was very well made and well worded. Deletion of the art for sale page?

[edit]

Dear NawlinWiki,

Just want to know exactly why the page Art for sale has been deleted. This game is all over the internet and I am sure it is making an notable impact on the time of many people’s lives at this moment. I did add that this game is more prevalent now than it was previously when I tried to create the page. There are however many pages of games on wikipedia with less information about them and no references that are allowed to remain. This is a bit inconsistent and I wont mind if you delete my page but use the same criteria for all the pages (I am not referring to newly created pages here but some of the pages that are active for a long period).

Please let me know what I can do to resurrect this page.

You just deleted the article I was in the middle of writing. You deleted it for no good reason. It was still a stub, I was adding information, and it was deleted while I was working on it. How can I add reasons not to delete it if you deleted it already? Why did you delete it so quickly? This was the most popular hardware store before Home Depot and Lowe's ran it out of business. Please restore the article.

Art for sale page

[edit]

I had a look at the pages that gives guidelines on notability and verifiability and the following is available on the net:

-The game (art for sale) is downloadable from the official page of the vendor:

www.friedgames.com/artforsale.htm

- The game is also downloadable from the cnet.com network, most notably the site

www.download.com

For some other notable games they are referenced only once, the official page, but can obviously be found on the net without any problems. An example is the game Plant Tycoon (please do not delete this page because I mention it here), and it seems to be sufficient to keep this page.

I must admit that the game is very new but this should not be a reason to delete a page about I if it meets the requirements.

I hope that this will resurrect my page.
