Your HighBeam account is ready![edit]

Good news! You now have access to 80 million articles in 6500 publications through HighBeam Research. Here's what you need to know:

  • Your account activation code has been emailed to your Wikipedia email address.
    • Only 407 of 444 codes were successfully delivered; most failed because email was simply not set up (You can set it in Special:Preferences).
    • If you did not receive a code but were on the approved list, add your name to this section and we'll try again.
  • The 1-year, free period begins when you enter the code.
  • To activate your account: 1) Go to http://www.highbeam.com/prof1; 2) You’ll see the first page of a two-page registration. 3) Put in an email address and set up a password. (Use a different email address if you signed up for a free trial previously); 4) Click “Continue” to reach the second page of registration; 5) Input your basic information; 6) Input the activation code; 7) Click “Finish”. Note that the activation codes are one-time use only and are case-sensitive.
  • If you need assistance, email "help at highbeam dot com", and include "HighBeam/Wikipedia" in the subject line. Or go to WP:HighBeam/Support, or ask User:Ocaasi. Please, per HighBeam's request, do not call the toll-free number for assistance with registration.
  • A quick reminder about using the account: 1) try it out; 2) provide original citation information, in addition to linking to a HighBeam article; 3) avoid bare links to non-free HighBeam pages; 4) note "(subscription required)" in the citation, where appropriate
  • HighBeam would love to hear feedback at WP:HighBeam/Experiences
  • Show off your HighBeam access by placing {{User:Ocaasi/highbeam_userbox}} on your userpage
  • When the 1-year period is up, check applications page to see if renewal is possible. We hope it will be.

Thanks for helping make Wikipedia better. Enjoy your research! Cheers, Ocaasi t | c 20:54, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I tried to email your account activation code, but you are not set up to receive emails from other users. Please change that at Special:Preferences. Or, contact me at wikiocaasi@yahoo.com with your username. Cheers, Ocaasi t | c 22:45, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi Ocaasi, i received the code via mail. Thank you very much for your help! Also changed the preferences for e-mail here. Cheers, --NiTen (talk) 06:31, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Draft:Bence Peter[edit]

Hi, for Draft:Bence Peter I would suggest that you find another independent reference, perhaps a newspaper article about the achievement, not just the Guiness book of world records. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:49, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

@Graeme Bartlett:: I added two more sources. Many sources are in Hungarian, which I unfortunately do not understand. Okay? --NiTen (talk) 13:29, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
Any language is OK as long as they meet the independent, reliable, substantial requirement. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:09, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

Church of Euthanasia AfD, Chris Korda merge proposed[edit]

Hi, it seems appropriate to notify you of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Church of Euthanasia. The CoE's notability was challenged, but then substantiated via significant coverage in reliable third party sources. However a merge is also being discussed: it's alleged that Chris Korda isn't sufficiently notable independent of the CoE, despite Korda's musical career, co-founding of Unabomber for President, software development etc. Victimofleisure (talk) 03:57, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

FYI I have not proposed a merge. There was an argument that CoE should be merged into the Korda article. I said that, if anything, it's the Korda article that should be merged into CoE. That was largely based on the content of the Korda article at the time and my own brief look for sources. As the Korda article is not the one nominated and nobody has proposed said merge (which would be separate from the AfD), I've not given it the due attention I would before weighing in on that one. My only firm conclusion is that CoE looks notable.
My opinion at this point is based primarily on the claim that he's notable as a musician. To the extent that he is, the coverage looks to be about his music and him in the context of talking about CoE. Maybe there are more I haven't seen, but that's the impression I have. Based solely on WP:MUSBIO he does not look to pass. I didn't look for Unabomber for President sources, so it's possible those would help. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 03:02, 4 October 2015 (UTC)
PS: See WP:CANVASSING. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 03:03, 4 October 2015 (UTC)
Re WP:CANVASSING: "In general, it is perfectly acceptable to notify other editors of ongoing discussions ... An editor who may wish to draw a wider range of informed, but uninvolved, editors to a discussion can place a message ... On the user talk pages of ... editors who have made substantial edits to the topic or article." Victimofleisure (talk) 03:14, 4 October 2015 (UTC)
Yeah. It's the rest of that page that you didn't quote that's the problem. This is a rather clear cut example of canvassing: you're here to get participation in order to achieve a particular outcome. It's so unambiguous, in fact, that you've even worded your message to be very clear about the outcome you want (usually it's a purportedly neutral message on the talk pages of people the canvasser knows will respond in a favorable way). Anyway, you're not in trouble or anything. Just please don't canvass. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 03:31, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Korda is definitely notable as a musician. He had multiple releases on the wellknown German Techno Label Gigolo Records. His output was reviewed in several German music magazines. Regards, --NiTen (talk) 07:56, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply. Do you happen to remember which German magazines? Victimofleisure (talk) 16:58, 4 October 2015 (UTC)
At least there was an article in De.Bug, at that time the most Important German Techno magazine. Others we're e.g. Intro, etc. A good overview can be found here. --NiTen (talk) 17:53, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Persondata[edit]

FYI: Persondata has been deprecated. That is why I deleted it in the Larry Brezner article with this edit. Happy editing! Bob305 (talk) 00:18, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
