Welcome to Wikipedia! Listed below are some brief introductions containing all the basics needed to use, comment on, and contribute to Wikipedia.

If you want to know more about a specific subject, Help:Help explains how to navigate the many help pages.

  • Google: Wikipedia is very well indexed by Google. Searching for a term, even about an editing question, followed by "wiki" or "wikipedia" usually pulls up what you need.

Where next?[edit]

  • If you wish to express an opinion or make a comment, Where to ask questions will point you in the correct direction.
  • If you would like to edit an article, the Basic tutorial will show you how, and How to help will give you some ideas for things to edit.
  • If you would like to create a new article, Starting an article will explain how to create a new page, with tips for success and a link to Wikipedia's Article Wizard, which can guide you through the process of submitting a new article to Wikipedia.
  • For more support and some friendly contacts to get you started, the Editors' Welcome page or the Wikipedia:Teahouse page could be your next stop!

Pro12 Transfers 2015/16[edit]

Hey man,

Thanks for response. Regarding the order of names, it is indeed a alphabetical list. Chronological makes absolutely no sense. Mostly signings are announced in bulk, the order in which they sign is neither known or relevant and the order of announcing these deals it not relevant. As with all squad lists etc., the order is alphabetical.

Also, you're hyperlinking to pages that don't exist for some reason (i.e. some Italian players), again there is no point in this unless the pages are created.

Finally, a "development contract" is a senior squad contract, at present there are at least 5 players in Leinster who are listed on the senior squad at Leinsterrugby.ie and announced as renewals at the begining of the season. For example, Sam Coghlin Murray who is in the senior squad was given a 1 year development contract at the end of his academy contract: "Last year he played in the region of 26 games, was a prominent player for the A team in the British & Irish Cup, got recognised on the back of that, and got a development contract until the end of the year." (http://www.pro12rugby.com/mobile/15307.php#.VOY50PmsWSo)

I'm not sure if you understand the difference in Irish rugby, but a "development contract" is a senior squad player coming from the academy. Very rarely is a full contract given immediately out of the academy. Here's another example: "He secured a development contract for season 2013/14 after completing two years of the academy programme " re Munster senior squad player Niall Scannell (http://www.munsterrugby.ie/rugby/first_team_squad.php?player=105478&includeref=dynamic) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.255.200.134 (talk) 19:38, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

RFU Championship transfers 2015/16[edit]

Hi,

I don't know why you had to remove Creevy from the list, he is leaving Worcester. Pampas XV is the most likely team to assign to his exit, as they already play in the Vodacom Cup. Either that or the Argentinean national team but that didn't seem appropriate. I will update when the team is formally announced.

You also included academy players who have signed senior contracts, do they really need to be included? They have all already represented Worcester this season, hence haven't actually been signed from anyone. They have simply graduated to full professionals.

Finally, SANZAR players aren't signed from Super Rugby teams. These teams are franchises made up of provincial unions which play in the ITM Cup. Hence the Chiefs are made up of players from Bay of Plenty, Counties-Manukau, Waikato and Taranaki. Hence Bryce Heem was signed from Taranaki, not the Chiefs.

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
