MTVNHD[edit]

I have had to revert your changes because there is an ongoing talk page discussion going on at the minute, the reason for the revert is that it would compromise the discussion to change the article now as we are also discussing the way to set the article out because of the many channel names for the same channel. By next week at the latest if all goes well the page should be labeled MTV Live HD but there is clear policy we need to follow here. You could come to the talk page and contribute to the discussion if you wish to do so, but please be patient it should be all sorted out next week.(Ruth-2013 (talk) 14:09, 26 July 2011 (UTC))

Comedy Central.[edit]

Hello,

You moved a page here in an incorrect manor, there is systems in place to make sure all page history and the talk page is moved to the new title also. The changes to the above page have been reverted because of the manor you moved the page as the page history and talk page would need to be preserved. There is as a talk page discussion on the talk page been opened right now to see about getting the page moved the correct way. (Ruth-2013 (talk) 01:25, 28 July 2011 (UTC))

Ambox warning blue.svg Thanks for uploading File:Lovetatoole.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. RTÉ One HD[edit]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of RTÉ One HD, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: RTÉ One. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 22:10, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you.  [[ axg //  ]] 20:48, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

Copyright-excl.svg

Thanks for uploading File:Oireachtastv2014.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Non-free rationale for File:Gemmahayesboneslongingtemp.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Gemmahayesboneslongingtemp.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Non-free rationale for File:Bones+longing.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Bones+longing.png.

June 2015[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Ireland. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. ----Snowded TALK 09:23, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

List of programmes broadcast by RTÉ 2[edit]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of List of programmes broadcast by RTÉ 2, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: List of programmes broadcast by Network 2.

CorenSearchBot (talk) 14:44, 21 July 2015 (UTC)

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Setanta Sports 1 & 2 a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Setanta Sports 1.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. Ireland and The British Isles[edit]

Hi. I have watched you adding Ireland as a geographical distinct island, in several articles mentioning The British Isles. I am not aware of all your edits in this regard, but as I have several pages related to Vikings on my watchlist, I was notified by changes on these pages specifically.

First and foremost I think you would be doing a better job, if you engaged on The Bristish Isles page. This is the root cause of the matter you raise. It will not make any significant changes to strike in random directions and trying to impose things that are not in line with what is the general consensus (on Wikipedia).

Next, you need solid sources for your claims. All you have done for now is to verbalize something about particualar institutions and how they see things. Provide the sources, otherwise you risk just getting stuck in edit wars and endless arguments. That will certainly not solve the problem, it will in fact make it even more difficult. So get hold of your sources, and be sure they are of such a genral and authoritative nature that they can be used to back up your claims. This is how to change things for good.

As a last thing, I would also like to inform about the rather long dicussion on the matter on the Vikings TalkPage (see "Territories significantly affected by Viking expansion") some time ago. Just to make you aware of this lengthy discussion. It could perhaps save you and others from pitfalls and endless repititons of previous arguments.

So if you really care about making sure that Ireland is not part of The British Isles, please take some advice from a fellow Wikipedia editor.

Speedy deletion nomination of Be3[edit]

A tag has been placed on Be3 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Duplicate of UTV Ireland, article has been updated. Current be3 article should be deleted, and UTV Ireland moved to this title. (A10, G6)

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ViperSnake151  Talk  23:22, 5 March 2017 (UTC)

This is awkward, but basically, usually these re-brandings do not result in a completely new article. I re-wrote be3's article on UTV Ireland's title, and am trying to have it moved to be3 once it's moved. ViperSnake151  Talk  23:50, 5 March 2017 (UTC)
