Jake Long

[edit]

I think you're the one that needs to do research. An alternate is a person that goes to the Pro Bowl if someone else declines and/or is injured. That's Long. We can't put "Pro Bowl selection" in the infoboxes for Jason Peters and Jake Long, because then it makes it look like both were voted to the Pro Bowl. Anyone that sees "Pro Bowl selection" in Long's infobox would assume he was selected by the fans/players voting, which would not be the case. Peters was the selection, Long is the alternate/injury replacement.►Chris NelsonHolla! 01:16, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There's only one kind of selection. It needs to be kept separate to not confuse readers. Being selected to the Pro Bowl is one very specific honor, and it is not one Long has received. Selected means voted in. Alternate means an injury/drop-out replacement. It doesn't matter that he's in now, he still wasn't selected by the voting.
Also, it doesn't matter what other pages do. If they are like that, they are wrong and need to be fixed as well.
I'm not going to stop this and will ALWAYS undo your edits in this case because they are wrong. So you have to ask yourself - is this really something you want to keep up for decades of your life?►Chris NelsonHolla! 16:47, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your involvement in the development of Jake Long which has become a WP:GA in recent months.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 00:10, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
