I have userfied the article for you at the link above. Please do not move the page back into the "mainspace" without asking the deleting admin. GFOLEY FOUR— 16:03, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Thank youOddbodz (talk) 17:13, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

The problem with the article is the lack of third-party sources - you have linked to the organization which verify them as a member, but the body of the article is about the facilities, and there is no source for that information. If a magazine or newspaper wrote a profile of the organization, then you could use that information to fill out an article. Otherwise, we don't have any sources to check the article against and thus it fails our policy of verifiability. Night Gyr (talk/Oy) 18:56, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Lily (software)

Hello Oddbodz, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Lily (software), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 does not apply to software. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Tikiwont (talk) 12:20, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

In response to the tag saying that this article may not meet the notability guideline for biographies, please note that it is not a biography. It is about an event, not a person. Totalinarian (talk) 16:15, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

Oh, sorry. Oddbodz (talk) 16:16, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
It's quite all right. I have removed the tag in question to prevent any risk of the article being deleted unnecessarily. Totalinarian (talk) 16:20, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

I removed your speedy deletion request because they are notable as a named party in a major SCOTUS case, e.g., Holder v. Humanitarian Law Project. Bearian (talk) 19:50, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

Welcome

Wow, after 1.5 years a welcome message on my Usertalk page. I'm impressed. Thx! ;) Oh and btw. I welcome you too, you seem pretty new. ;) TFTD (talk) 15:52, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Since I still believe that the article is redundant to the main article about the planned referendum, I have now made a formal request for it to be merged. (See the article's talk page.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 21:22, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

I am not edit warring. A conscensus has been reached that the paragraph in question is selective and biased. Please do not reinsert without first making your case on the talk page. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.38.32.171 (talk) 15:09, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

'Many other registered users disagree with me' do they? Haha, nice bluff. You already tried to get the page semi-protected and got told where to go. I believe the exact words they used were: 'Please consider dispute resolution.' Now, I think that taking that advice and not trying to bully other editors into doing what you want would be the sensible route, don't you?

Now, this issue has been discussed on the talk page and out of everyone that spoke, it was agreed that the article was not fit for purpose and should be removed. Now, if those other 'many other registered users' actually do exist then maybe they would actually like to consider posting on the talk page. Until then, and until you can convincingly refute the accusation that what you've written is biased and selective, then it will continue to be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.38.32.171 (talk) 19:14, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

It's best not to; though the ip was clearly being disruptive, he wasn't engaging in blatant vandalism, and as such reverting him wouldn't be exempt from 3rr. Someone else has already made the revert, which is the best outcome in situations like this. Rami R 07:59, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Misidentification?

I believe you misidentified the source of vandalism in these edits. It looks to me like what Kittybrewster did was simply to fix a spelling error in the vandalism - he didn't write it. Clearly, fixing spelling errors in vandalism is suboptimal - it would have been better to remove it - but I just thought it worthwhile to point out that you may have warned the wrong person.--Jimbo Wales (talk) 12:00, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

Oh, sorry. It was the person below in the edit history who had originaly made the vandal edit. The warninig is no longer on Kittybrewsters talk page and I have warned the vandal user. Thanks for letting me know. Oddbodz (talk) 16:08, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

Re: Speedy deletion nomination of Hur man sniffar korv

I renamed the article to its English name "How to sniff sausage" and CSD'd it already. You warned me by accident, the creator was User:Korvigt22.--NortyNort (Holla) 11:40, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

Got it, I use twinkle too and I didn't create the page. When I moved the page, it put me as the first editor on the article mistakenly. I usually move non-english titles before a CSD to put the criteria in better context but this is the second time this mistake happened, so I probably won't change the text of a title again, just the text in the article.--NortyNort (Holla) 11:47, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

radio isla negra

hello oddbodz. i was thinking that a radio streaming since 1999 could be worth mentioning in an encyclopedia. i thought that the article could be expanded in some period of time. feel free to comment! Mydreamistofly (talk) 19:55, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. The article has already been deleated by an Admin who will have checked the article and will not feel it is notable enough to be on Wikipedia. What you need to do is ask the deleating admin who in this case was Kinu and ask them to userfy the article. This will give you the chance to edit the article in your private user area without risk of deletion. You must then ask Kinu to move it back into the main space if they feel it is notable enough. Five paragraphs is hardly a stub. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 04:46, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

When I added the stub tag the article did have five sections. However, each section was only 1 or 2 lines long and only gave a brief summary. That is why I classed it as a stub. If you feel that you have sufficiantly expanded on each section then feel free to remove the stub tag. Thanks for getting in touch, Oddbodz (talk) 10:06, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Still, five sentences is above stub class don't you think? I thought stub = one/two sentences. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 15:32, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

I have seen articles much longer than what your article was rated as a stub class. I guess it depends on the editor. Looking back at the article now it probably isn't stub class and the stub tag has been removed. I feel that if we don't agree on what a stub is then it would be best to agree to disagree. Oddbodz (talk) 16:30, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Laser Performance requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. –Dream out loud (talk) 17:52, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Zhu Yufu

Dear Oddbodz, thank you so much for helping me to learn how to write better articles. Actually, I am quite new in WP. You nominated the article on Zhu Yufu, who is one of the founders of a democratic opposition party and is currently in prison, for deletion. As the reason for this, you mentioned, that articles about living people must have at least one reliable source. However I mentioned the following two references:

Since I am new in WP, I might have misunderstood what a WP:RS is. However, the two references are reliable, the first is from an organization having done extensive research on Chinese dissidents and the second reference is from an association of sinologists, i.e. scholars who have Chinese studies as their special field. What shall I do in order to fulfill the requirements and to be allowed to remove the tag? I can easily add references about his party founding, since this was big in the international news. Thanks for your advise! Waikiki lwt (talk) 11:12, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

There is absolutely no justification to move Ice Pilots NWT to Ice Pilots.[1] The official website calls it Ice Pilots NWT and the show also calls it Ice Pilots NWT during show in-reference. Please do not go reckless and randomly move pages that have no merits whatsoever. OhanaUnitedTalk page 18:20, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

On the television the show is always called Ice Pilots during and before the show. I moved the article because most people will know it as Ice Pilots and it will be easier for them to find. Oddbodz (talk) 18:24, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

I don't know where you heard it, but it has always been Ice Pilots NWT. The official site's name is Ice Pilots NWT.[2] Their Facebook fanpage is called Ice Pilots NWT.[3] Inside the show, they always refer to it as Ice Pilots NWT (as in "on the next episode of Ice Pilots NWT...") It's loud and clear. OhanaUnitedTalk page 18:41, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

I think I know where the confusion is coming from. From your userpage I take it that you watch the show in Canada. I watch it in the UK. Many shows have diffrent narators etc in the UK than in the US and Canada. In Canada the show must be called Ice Pilots NWT but in the UK it is just Ice Pilots. I have watched a clip from the Canadian version on YouTube and the narrator sounds diffrent. This must be where the issue is. Oddbodz (talk) 18:47, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Interesting. I never knew they changed the name and narrator in the UK show. OhanaUnitedTalk page 19:30, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

New pages

Hi Oddbodz. Due to New Page Patrol being oddly the first focus of activity for a great many new users, the system is under review and being closely monitored by a team of admins and experienced editors. Your concern for the quality of new pages is most appreciated, and proposals for reforms to the rules of page creation have been under heavy central discussion for several weeks and are now heading for consensus. In view of this, although we realise that your additions to WP:NPP were made with the very best of intentions, your template system has been temporarily removed by administrators pending the outcome of the changes to new page policy. In the meantime, do please continue patrolling new pages, and in particular and even more important, to offer advice to patrollers who are still not getting it quite right. If you have any questions regarding NPP or the use of templates, please don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Keep up the good work, and happy editing! --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 10:07, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

Oddbodz, I see you have also made duplicates of these templates by copying and pasting the text. Please never copy and paste from one article or template into another. Doing this creates problems with attribution and with keeping things up-to-date. If you want to rename a template, you can move it - use the "move" button to do this - or use a redirect. I'm a little confused. I'm talking about this edit where you removed a tfd template from template:Good-new-page. I've already restored the tfd notices, you don't need to do anything at this point. thanks, ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 21:00, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

The article Five essentials has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not enought info here

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Wilbysuffolk talk 10:55, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Your request for rollback

Hi Oddbodz. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! FASTILY (TALK) 05:21, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

Vancouver

More than a week ago I made a review for you nomination for Vancouver as a good article. You may have overlooked the review, so please remember to keep an eye on the talk page of the article. Arsenikk (talk) 12:08, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Oh, thanks for pointing that out to me. Just a couple of questions.
  1. How long do I have to make these changes?
  2. If I add a manatinance tag while I make these changes, will it risk the article becoming a good article?

Thanks, Oddbodz (talk) 15:37, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

In general, you have a week. As you did not notice it until now, we can start counting from today. If significant progress is done within a week, then more time can be added. If you can somehow indicate on the review page what has been done, it makes things run a lot more smooth. As long as the maintenance tags are gone when you're finished working with the article, then you can stick them in, but an article cannot pass for GA if there are any valid maintenance tags there. Overall, we both want the article to meet the criteria and have it improved. I would appreciate any further questions were asked on the review page, though don't hesitate to ask for clarifications or comments. Regards, Arsenikk (talk) 19:19, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
