I have reverted your orphan and unreferenced tag additions to Star Wars Rebel; it is a disambiguation page, and hence does not require references or other articles linking to it. Pax 09:35, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Criticism of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad[edit]

Hello Owais Khursheed,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Criticism of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad for deletion, because it seems to be an article that was previously deleted by a consensus decision.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Bladesmulti (talk) 10:01, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

Hey !!! Yes I think it was wrongly deleted, but what can you do its wikipedia not a professional encyclopaedia lol Adjutor101 (talk) 10:02, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

@Adjutor101: Yup man, I think many users of the Wikipedia are followers of Mirza, and they don't want his dirt to be criticized. Owais Khursheed (Talk to me) 10:26, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of "Clyde Theorem"[edit]

A page you created, Clyde Theorem, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is very short and provides little or no context.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. Donner60 (talk) 04:05, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

@Donner60: I have not created this article. Please message the proper user. Owais Khursheed (Talk to me) 04:12, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

You are correct. I am sorry for the mistake and I will re-tag it and put the message on the proper talk page. I tried to delete the above message in the manner prescribed by the guidelines (strike through) but for some reason I am unaware of, in this case the strike through carries through this message. Please take this message as showing that I would delete the message due to my error if I could get the code to work. Donner60 (talk) 04:36, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Quick question[edit]

Hi Owais, I wanted to know how I can write on someone's user talk page when I don't have a link like you provided. I wanted to leave a message for someone in my class but, do I need to know their username in order to leave a message? Or if I have their username how do I find them? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tiffygc1 (talkcontribs) 18:23, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Owais, I am responding to your welcome message. Forgive me if this should not be posted here. Owais, I love Wikipedia, however, because it is so comprehensive it can be a bit confusing to us newcomers. I have a few questions. I know someone is going to scream "read the Help pages" but I find it extremely time-consuming. First of all, was I supposed to post this message on "my" User Page? Please forward this list of questions to anyone you think can help. 1. I created a book with 5 articles last night and saved it. This morning it only reflects 1 article. 2. I have 2 books under construction. Both have similar "names/paths" so I would like to stay organized. How do you access the page where it shows all your saved books? I know I have seen it, I just don't understand how you access different books when you want different articles saved in different books. Thank you for reading this. Can someone please direct me to your "Book Creator" specialist? Swamixyz (talk) 15:15, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

  • It would help if you provided links to these books. My first thought is: do you actually know how to read your own contributions history or use Special:PrefixIndex/? I can see four books in your user space. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:44, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

Information icon Hello Owais Khursheed. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), or content (CSD A3), moments after they are created. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks.Adam9007 (talk) 21:03, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Hotel Comrade inn[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Hotel Comrade inn requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. A tag has been placed on Hotel Comrade inn, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Mufti Yaqoob Baba, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kashmiri (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Moving and claiming of Page Pethmakhama[edit]

Hi, I created the article Pethmakhama Magam Budgam but why did you move it to Pethmakhama Budgam, i don't know what is the problem but let it be with original name. Pethmakhama 08:24, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

@Pethmakhama: the name of the village is pethmakhama, so it is appropriate to have the of the article as pethmakhama, budgam or simply pethmakhama is also good. The name u suggested is too long and is not appropriate. Regarding that u have created the article, boy this Wikipedia, once you have submitted your article it can be edited and modified by anyone and you cant claim that it belongs to only you, this is first policy of the wikipedia that it is free.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 11:28, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

New deal for page patrollers[edit]

Hi Owais Khursheed,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted[edit]

Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg

Hello Owais Khursheed. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.

  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 07:20, 20 November 2016 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter[edit]

Hello Owais Khursheed,
Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg
Breaking the back of the backlog
We now have 371 New Page Reviewers! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog. Now it's time for action.
Mid July to 01 Oct 2016

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.

Second set of eyes

Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.

January 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Kautilya3. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Kupwara massacre, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Please note that the verifiability policy mandates that unsourced material that has been challenged, such as by a "fact" tag, or by its removal, may no be added back without a reliable, published source being cited for the content, using an inline citation. The cited source must clearly support the material as presented in the article, and the burden is on the person wishing to keep in the disputed material. So if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so, following these requirements! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 22:26, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

Also, on the Human rights abuses in Kashmir page, your citation was badly incomplete. Please see HELP:Citations.
You cannot also say "experts" etc. That would be WP:WEASEL. Please be specific when you attribute opinions. Cheers, Kautilya3 (talk) 22:42, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

ARBIPA sanctions reminder[edit]

Hello Owais Khursheed, I would like to remind you of the ARBIPA sanctions of which you have been notified here. The notification requires you to have thorough understanding of Wikipedia policies in editing India/Pakistan/Afghanistan topics. When you are pointed to policies (WP:NPOV, WP:PRIMARY etc.), you need to study them and amend your editing/argumentation in accordance with them. If you are unsure how they apply, you are welcome to ask for help at the WP:Tea house or any admin that you trust. Repeated arguments that are in violation of policies is WP:tendentious editing and it will be grounds for ARBIPA sanctions.

Your comments here are also in violation of the edit restrictions placed on all articles to do with the Kashmir conflict, in particular the ethnicity claim restriction. Please edit your comments in accordance with the edit restrictions.

Pinging RegentsPark to confirm this. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 11:40, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

Owais Khursheed, your edit does violate the restrictions I placed on articles related to the Kashmir conflict. In particular, your statement that Kautilya3 is not editing in good faith and your statement "They all agree that we want right to self determination" where you apparently drag your own ethnicity into the discussion. If you strike those statements, I'll let it go this time but, if you don't or if you continue to violate the restrictions, you will be blocked. --regentspark (comment) 13:42, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

@ regentspark (comment) 13:42, 30 January 2017 (UTC) I am not dragging myself in it, I don't live in J&K, It was actually "They all agree that they want right to self determination". I had quoted it in an active voice that was my fault. I am nothing to say about that issue and neither is any user on wikipedia, we have to write what is scholarly concensus not mere from India but the scholars of the world that's my point.Owais Khursheed (Talk to me) 16:57, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

No worries. Just be aware that there are additional restrictions in this area and you'll be fine. --regentspark (comment) 18:27, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
I would regard I think according to u only Indian sources are reliable as a veiled ethnicity claim. It is factually false, because I have been citing sources of all nationalities, including Pakistani ones. I would appreciate you deleting this, Owais. -- Kautilya3 (talk)
And more: people must have digestion power to absorb the truth about what india has done in Kashmir. This needs to go also. Not only is this a veiled ethnic referene, but it is also WP:SOAPBOX. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 21:39, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
Definitely strike I think according to u only Indian sources are reliable. And, while the soapboxing is not a violation, note that you can end up being viewed as a disruptive editor if you persist with those sort of statements. Owais, have you struck out the offending remarks? If not, please do so in the next few hours or I will have to block you. --regentspark (comment) 00:54, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
@regentspark Admin. I have done it.Owais Khursheed (Talk to me) 04:32, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
Thanks very much for editing your comment. Discussions go off in wrong directions unless you follow these restrictions.
You seem to be still struggling with adding talk page posts. Please use colons (:) to indent your comments, as described at Help:Talk.
As to the content of your post at Talk:Kashmir conflict, it is not a good idea to question policies in the middle of article discussions. You can do so WP:Tea House or WP:Help Desk. Article talk pages are not the place to question policies.
You might have forgotten most of the information contained in your welcome message. I will give you a fresh one. Please spend some time looking through the links contained in there. Cheers, Kautilya3 (talk) 09:19, 31 January 2017 (UTC)

January 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Kautilya3. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Siachen conflict without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Sorry, you can't delete reliably sourced content like this. It is your responsibility to get hold of the sources cited. If you need help, you can request quotations from the editor, but you need to do it nicely. Your deletion amounts to WP:Disruptive editing. Kautilya3 (talk) 14:40, 31 January 2017 (UTC)

Kashmir conflict[edit]

I've reverted you. There is no consensus for that content. Please engage in discussion at Talk:Kashmir conflict. —MBlaze Lightning T 06:13, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Pinging admin regentspark (comment) Sir, I am unable to understand why was I accused of edit warring here [1] by MBlaze Lightning I have not reverted anyone not even once and Kautilya3 had no problems with these edits otherwise he would have mentioned it on the talkpage. Owais Khursheed (Talk to me) 08:20, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Hi Owais, MBlaze obviously misunderstood what I was objecting to. Since I have put back the content, there is nothing more to do, for now. By the way, I do have some mild objections to some of the content. But I will state them after I have studied the sources closely.
MBlaze Lightning, please be careful with your reverts. We are essentially following 1RR on all Kashmir conflict pages. Cheers, Kautilya3 (talk) 11:43, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

@ Kautilya3 (talk) It is ok, whatever objections you have I will try to improve the text and by the way, thanks for your reverts and If you were offended by my comments on the talk page, would like to apologise for that. Owais Khursheed (Talk to me) 12:37, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Ajaw[edit]

Hi, I saw you reverted my edits without comment at Ajaw, probably because I tripped an edit filter by restoring an older version of the lead. Please take a look at the version you reverted to -- it's a garbled mess created by a school IP deleting half of the lead. -165.234.252.11 (talk) 19:11, 1 February 2017 (UTC) @ (talk) I also tried to fix it but u had already done it .. New Page Review - newsletter No.2[edit]

Hello Owais Khursheed,
Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg
A HUGE backlog

We now have 371 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.

Hitting 17,000 soon

The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.

Second set of eyes

Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.

Abuse

This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and

  1. this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
  2. this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
  3. This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

Coordinator election[edit]

Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

February 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Kashmir conflict seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. O Fortuna!...Imperatrix mundi. 12:43, 10 February 2017 (UTC) @...User:Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi...these edits were made as per sources, please read these sources and reconsider. Owais Khursheed (Talk to me) 13:02, 10 February 2017 (UTC)

I have struck the portion of my remark that was wrong, and restored it to the section. However: The remainder of my talk page comments apply. Cheers! O Fortuna!...Imperatrix mundi. 13:04, 10 February 2017 (UTC)

@Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi....I had included in text attributions to the scholars like zustshirt, noorani etc..Owais Khursheed (Talk to me) 13:12, 10 February 2017 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter No.3[edit]

Hello Owais Khursheed,
Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg

Voting for coordinators has now begun HERE and will continue through/to 23:59 UTC Monday 06 March. Please be sure to vote. Any registered, confirmed editor can vote. Nominations are now closed.

Still a MASSIVE backlog

We now have 371 New Page Reviewers but despite numerous appeals for help, the backlog has NOT been significantly reduced.
If you asked for the New Page Reviewer right, please consider investing a bit of time - every little helps preventing spam and trash entering the mainspace and Google when the 'NO_INDEX' tags expire.
