When you were bringing up edit filters, I thought of Oshwah. He's someone who actively does work there so maybe you'd be interested in having a conversation.
I was very glad to hear your thoughts on mobile editing as well. Someone you might want to talk to about what's possible (even if he's a bit of an outlier) is Cullen328. He does his mobile editing via the desktop site (many editors do this because mobile lacks functionality). Then of course there's me if you ever want to hear about the app. :) Given the MediaWiki comment, I'm assuming you've seen my Signpost essay? If you haven't, it's an interesting read. - I'm so happy to meet User:PPelberg (WMF) today. We need to bump heads a bit. Lots churning. Promoting and assisting literacy seems such a natural extension of the Foundation's mission. If they can read, they can engage. Making product which helps enable better literacy cements the Foundation even deeper into the surrounding org and biz community. - In fact, I think what we're talking about here – helping people to see Wikipedia as a place for them to learn and develop skills – is an idea the Growth Team is exploring...
- If I'm not mistaken (although @KStoller-WMF, please tell me if I am!), I think part of what has motivated the team to prioritize work on the positive reinforcement project is research that suggests that, "...broadening the appeal beyond ideological motivations may improve diversity of retained editors on Wikipedia."

- Oh, great! This is the first time I'm hearing of this person – I'm glad you thought to mention them here. I've added a note to T327959 to remind myself to follow up with them once the team gets closer to working on the on-wiki configuration side of the Edit Check experience.
