You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Pcapell/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.ycgf.org/WPS_Eulogy/WPS_Eulogy.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Why was my entry deleted

[edit]

On the wiki page entitled “Wang Peisheng” - I entered the eulogy published by my teacher (direct student/disciple of Wang Peisheng). It published successfully and is removed today. I would appreciate an explanation as to why. Pcapell (talk) 14:55, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It was removed because it was a copyright violation; text on Wikipedia must be written in the editor's own words. See WP:COPYRIGHT for more information. Primefac (talk) 01:14, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Reply to Primefac: the article I edited into to Wang Peisheng wiki page was written by my teacher who holds the copyright and it was provided with his explicit permission (release). What else must we do? Pcapell (talk) 03:18, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please look at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Permission must be obtained directly from the copyright holder; you cannot donate what someone else owns, even if they have given you permission to do so. The section "Granting us permission to copy material already online" details how the copyright holder can release the material to Wikipedia. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:13, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless of the copyright issue, some content is not suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. This addition is one of those instances - it's far too long for inclusion in this tiny stub, and gives far too much weight to one person's opinion. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:52, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. This adjudication is in error, because I, the submitter, already completed and was approved via the Wikipedia copyright release process. I have the receipt. The material itself is first hand from the eyewitness to the individual. There are only a few of those and the material is guaranteed to be completely factual. Pcapell (talk) 14:30, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see any statement on the article talk page saying that any copyright has been released. I really wouldn't bother though, the content is completely unsuitable for Wikipedia in this form. Hut 8.5 21:12, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

From Me: This reply certainly indicates the autocratic nature and lack of any serious peer review for wikipedia (the source of much of the derision that real scholars attach to this forum sadly). Consider: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yang_Luchan#Origin_of_the_Moniker_Taijiquan - wherein Wiki (more or less) presents a kind of shallow, novice presentation of the known history of Yang Luchan. Further, Wang Peisheng was a master of what could be considered equivalent standing in China. Here me now, believe me later. Wiki's loss, not ours.
