Wikivoices goes video :-)[edit]

check out the Community portal for my first ever attempt at wikivoices 'vodcasting' - I continue to be a bit busy, but hope to inject some more energy into this project soon-ish - hopefully you're up for it too! anyways, check it out, tell a friend etc. etc. - and I'm curious to see what you think of it :-) Privatemusings (talk) 05:17, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Possibility of Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art at the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh[edit]

I'd be happy to help; have you contacted Wikipedia:WikiProject Pittsburgh? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 17:20, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia loves Art in New Zealand[edit]

Thanks for your email. However, I am in Auckland, and Te Papa is in Wellington. You might find someone by posting on the New Zealand Wikipedians' noticeboard.-gadfium 17:41, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Meetup tomorrow[edit]

I'll be there. Per my sign-up on the Meetup page, I hope there's a little time for me on the program, as I've been giving some thought to what I have to say there. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 18:50, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am very interested in what Brad has to say on BLP issues. I also hope there is time, even if we run a bit later than 5 PM. — Becksguy (talk) 03:41, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for not making it, Pharos. I came down with a cold on Wednesday, and have been nursing it since. I've been sleeping in for the past few days, and the Meetup slipped my mind. I'm usually better organized with my appointments than that. Sorry about that. Nightscream (talk) 17:46, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WM NYC story[edit]

Congrats on getting Wikimedia NYC approved by the Foundation. I'd like to write a story on it for the Signpost -- what's your current status? Are there places I should be looking for information? (or would you like to write a story yourself? :) ) Thanks! -- phoebe / (talk to me) 20:25, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Automation of Flickr import for Wikipedia Loves Art[edit]

Pharos, I took a look at the Flickr API, and I think I could slap together a quick program to automate the licensing of the contributed photos after an appropriate caption has been submitted. Whom should I follow up with? Bezh (talk) 16:01, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Response to e-mail[edit]

Hi Pharos! I am very tickled that you would ask me to help with a task so important. I'm afraid I don't have time time to commit to something like this, so I must politely decline. However, there are a number of other members in Hawaii who might be interested in doing so, particularly those who are in WikiProject Hawaii. Sorry I could not have been of more help! Good luck! 青い(Aoi) (talk) 06:18, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Afd of Mucoid plaque[edit]

Mucoid plaque is up for AFD... again.

The latest discussion is here. As a previous participant in a AFD discussion for this article, you are encouraged to contribute to ongoing consensus of whether or not this article meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion.--ZayZayEM (talk) 02:42, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Art at Te Papa[edit]

Hey Pharos, I am an artist based in Wellington and quite interested in the Wikipedia loves art thing, please explain more and let me know how I might be of help. I am working in many different media, mostly still photography and film for music installations, full details on my user page. This year I am working with both Auckland and Wellington City Councils, and Te Papa and Carter Observatory, to bring astronomy to the people, as part of IYA2009. Much of my art is influenced by the sky, and I contributed to the wikipedia [Astro art] page a while back. my contact details are fully public knowledge. paul.moss@astronomy.net.nz works, see my wikipedia galleries.. [gallery].. aslo see one of my many websites here [Sharing Space] Paul MossPaul Moss (talk) 04:23, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Wikipedia:Meetup/London 18[edit]

Yup, I'm heading to this one anyway (hence why my name on the London 18 meet is crossed out with the information that I will be attending the event on 1 Feb). What sort of time are things kicking off? Is there a place to meet, what? Ironholds (talk) 02:51, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia loves art[edit]

Hi! I think it is really unfortunate the Visual arts project was not notified of this effort - we only found out by accident last night. Such draft "goals lists" as I have seen appear to have been drawn up without any consideration of where the many gaps in Commons' tens of thousands of photos of art objects actually are. It seems too late to influence the goal lists much now, & there are no evident mechanisms for doing so. Or am I wrong? Johnbod (talk) 20:09, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently I am not! Johnbod (talk) 11:12, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Administrators may not unilaterally add notices here; consensus is required on the talk page. Please revert yourself. seresin ( ¡? )  04:33, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted the watchlist notice pending discussion on MediaWiki talk:Watchlist-details. If we reach consensus there, I will gladly re-post the notice myself.--Aervanath (talk) 07:24, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not a problem. seresin ( ¡? )  08:19, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WLA DC[edit]

Met with the SAAM people today. Rules page is up, prizes and themes/tags/goals are up, they're working internally on publicizing the event, and we're off to the races. They're still trying to figure out the best day to do a meetup, but it will more than likely be in the end of the month. I'll be following up with them as well as an in-person followup later in the month of February.

One last thing: Is it at all possible that we could request a DC area geo-notice on watchlist pages to attract attention to the event? I can't imagine it would be a problem, seeing as we've done so for normal wikimeetups. How do I go about requesting this?SWATJester Son of the Defender 23:11, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Loves Art — East Hawaii or no? Too late to enter in Honolulu?[edit]

Hi Pharos, I saw this on Viriditas's talk page. I'm guessing this was scrapped for East Hawaii (I'm asking because I live in Hilo, though I'm not a photographer). I do have a photobug friend who I think would be interested; she divides her time between Hilo and O'ahu. Is it too late to enter for Hawaii (Honolulu?)? What links should I give her? Hey[edit]

Hello, I was wondering if I can put pictures that are on wikipedia pages (such as a vehicle brand like GM) on my Userpage. Please reply ASAP!
